“Slams” must be the most overused word TalkSport uses in their headline titles. Their social media team really needs to expand their vocabulary and realize that constantly using the same word or phrase to describe something diminishes its effect (diminishing marginal returns in economic theory terms).
I think "clashes" might actually be in the lead. 😄

There is only one person to blame - southgate. It is CRIMINAL we found ourselves in a final against spain (after the Italy final) and sat back without pace
I agree, Southgate stubbornly stuck with players who were either unfit or unsuited for the positions they were playing in (making them look bad). In addition, tactics were too cautious. These are not the attributes of an elite manager. This was another missed opportunity, not as bad as the Euro 2020 Final where the opposition were inferior to this final.
If Southgate managed England when Henry the eighth was king,he would have ended up in the Tower of London,absolute criminal how he stuck with Kane.
Safegate lacked courage when it mattered. Look ar the 1966 WC final when Ramsay didn’t play their star forward Greaves. That took courage and risk and it paid off.

English media and pundits and their whole ecosystem are notorious for their lack of tactical knowledge and how football systems work. No wonder they dont producr top quality managers.
