Snowboarding Punta Helbronner, Monte Bianco-Italian Alps

We were supposed to take the Aiguille du Midi cable car out of Chamonix, but the doors blew off in a wind event a day or two before our scheduled date!!! This left us with plan b; Go through the Mont Blanc Tunnel from Cham over to the Courmayeur, Italy on the other side of Mont Blanc to ride the Monte Bianco Skyway; Italy’s answer to the Aiguille du Midi. Avy danger wound up being too high to drop back over the col into the French side, so we called an audible and skiied this crazy couloir off The Skyway…nuts! So. Stinkin’. Amazing! Props to Bob G, who skied this thing on tele gear…yikes!
