- THIS PIRATE IS BADASS. Many of you have told us that this track is your favourite piece from the album, and well, we see why. At first with the live clip we were a bit confused on the direction of the song and felt that there must be something we're missing, that the original track has some interesting sounds with intentions that cannot be duplicated live.
Well, yeh - and after taking a listen at the OG track, we appreciate the live version 100 times more.Following up from Xdinary Heroes' Sucker Punch, this is probably the most ambitious and impressive live clip we've seen so far from Xdinary, especially because this song isn't meant to be performed live, at least not in the same way the track goes! So WOW, WOW, WOW, we applaud!

Pirates has grown into my favourite track, but I loved Strawberry Cake from the start. I find some songs take a few listens to get acclimatised..then you end up loving them. Their vocals and musical imagination are genius!
my all time fav will be always sucker punch, but all the tracks on hello world have a special place in my heart, to this day still hits as hard as the first day... i cant believe this was their first cb and album

i totally loved this song because it actually sounded like a pirate theme, from the drums to the way they made it sound... idk how to explain it but it made so much sense
I think it feels pirate-like because of the genre? It’s very sea shanty-like because of the instrumental in the prechorus imo
(I just realised I forgot to mention the drums, sorry) the drumsticks gunil is using in this one is a drum mallet instead which is typically used in marching bands/orchestras (I think) as it creates a softer, more round/velvety than normal drumsticks (which to me is ‘sharper’ in a sense?)
This was the very first song I heard from Xdinary Heroes. It was a dark and foggy night on my way to work when the algorithm kicked it into a random playlist, and I said "What the actual fuck is this?!" You know that static feeling when you haven't really heard anything new in a long time, even in brand new releases, and suddenly music makes you breathless again?
Anyway, I liked it. I like them. I wait for every release now, and haven't been disappointed once.
Your reactions are always so great - especially when all you have to say is "wow" (because then I feel vindicated, even though I come here to learn new musical tidbits, which you always eventually deliver).

Pirates is my fav song for sure...the lyrics, the sound and Jooyeon singing in here still gives my goosebumps it soooooo good!!! Tbh now they have done Pirates live and is way better, i think the mv live was timid but god I loveee their voices!!!

You mentioned that this song reminds you of a chill pirate, it reminds me of what one of the other CZcams reactors commenting that this song is good theme song for jack sparrow.
One of my favorites for sure! This whole album was so fire though. I'm so happy for these live clips omg. I love watching their practice clips too but this is a rare one to me where the studio produced version is my fave over live. Loved your reaction!!
super interesting that you said their vocal style is quite unified on this track, i remember jungsu and jooyeon were talking about recording pirates and jungsu was saying he was struggling to make his voice sound rough and wild like the others for the vibe of the song but clearly he did well in matching everyones energy !!

this song is still not sinking to me. maybe because I can't understand the exact lyrics but I can say this is my least favorite track of Xdinary Heroes even compared to their latest songs on the 2nd and 3rd albums.
there's not much live clips for the next albums but you can find live versions on their mini-concerts, they are available in some CZcams channels.
I would say this is their sexist song.
