Esther goes from house to house spreading her special brand of kindness and care for everyone on the street.
❤️❤️❤️
I could never understand why older folk yearned for the good old days - i do now
I much prefer the old ending theme and i like the way they put the names of the characters up in front of the house they lived in. As a new show it helped the viewer to know who lived where.
Kev L me too think it's a nice touch
I like these early episodes as they have all these quirks that you don't see much of in future.
@@darganx Just goes to show what a good writer Tony Warren was.

It gets better episode per episode, from gossip to personal argument, Coronation street from the sixties really engage us into the story and its characters, family problems and discussions, all in all make the show worth watching over and over again.😊
Totally. Nowadays in 2020 we have no sympathy or real interest in any of the characters in Corrie. It's getting worse and worse.
In those days, Ken Barlow had a stronger northern accept in these episodes from the 60s I noticed. And Annie Walker sounds more northern too. This is real British kitchen sink drama, if it had been a film, it would have been a classic. I love Minnie Caldwell.
I love Coronation Street!! It is absolutely addictive!!!
I like at the end they told you what day and time the next show comes on.
To say that Kenneth Barlow didn't like his neighbourhood because they were common, he has been there all this time going strong 😂
LOL
He was all talk, never did anything
@@lindabiggs3905 I can say after all this time, that's a fair assessment 😁

This is turning into a covid lockdown binge. Better put the kettle on.
Oh, Auntie Corrie2, you are a dear for putting these up. This has become a recent favourite show of mine and I've found it a little difficult to find some of the oldest episodes of it. Thank you. :)
Waiting for the Ogdens to make an entry.
Sarah Think they arrived in the seventies.
Alexander Jones mid 60’s actually
Sarah Ok, thanks. Bet the street was never the same again!
8 July 1964. Episode 371.
1964 they arrived
The old fire range in Elsie’s is lovely
When did Granada scrap the credits scrolling past all the houses? This appears to be the only time the theme was used with the full middle section with the beautiful and haunting clarinet part.
Wow...I actually like Albert in these episodes. Wonder why they turned him into such a mean ol man.
My grandfather collected coins and kept them in cigar boxes 😁
@MarlonBrandosEyes Don't you think Annie Walker seems less snobbish in these early episodes as well, and she has more of a Manchester accent
I loved Uncle Albert, didn't everyone have an uncle Albert.
Linda talking like Dennis’s mother. “Now I suppose our Dennis wants ‘is breakfast.” Could’ve imagined Elsie saying that, but Linda?
@Auntie Corrie2 I am so grateful for your uploading these classic Coronation Street episodes . Here in the states , soap operas were about the trials, tribulations & bed hopping of the glamourous upper crust. They were so commercial, tacky & stupid . I can only presume East Enders drew some inspiration from Coronation Street . I'd be grateful if you could tell me about other british soap operas from the 20th century . please, any and all replies !
You may like emmerdale farm
Coughing in the background in Elsie's lol
4.34 Never did before, but now I recognise the Barlows’ house (no 3) as the one where Emily and Percy lived in the 90s.
Ken almost gets hit in the head by his own bedroom door. How claustrophobic!
All the kids seem to have posters in their rooms. I can’t quite make them out though.
I have a thing for vintage mirrors and the one in the Tanner house is
A bit of a boring episode for the first episode of double digits. Now I’m interested to see who Harry ends up with.
Frank almost ordered Ida to get him another cup of tea. Get it yourself, you lazy bugger! I can't believe the attitudes men had in those days and also with how Frank also acted like he was the "head of the house"
They were the heads of the house in those days.
Just shows how times change.
She probably also thought that’d help soften Frank’s mood, and stop him turning Ken out.
That’s how it was back in those days the woman & girls had to bow down the men some held there ground & didn’t but other’s did cos that’s how they brought up & told to do, some r still like that now but others & me wouldn’t do that definitely not if man wants something he can get it himself 💯
Men were men back then. Not cowering little simps like is expected today.
hehehe so funny when she said that her bottom is getting fatter
He gave me the creeps watching this then apparently he came back to marry Rita years later. There’s something about him that’s horrid 🤮🤮
Ken hasn’t changed much ( apart from being fatter now). He was 20 here ( presumably) and now he’s 80! Is that a complement for him now, or an insult to him then??😂😂
Ty auntie luv these episodes great fan from nz
Was the Orinoco club where Dennis first met Rita? I know she was a singer originally...
Albert, always had a drop of rum,
thank you for this
Now Dennis is dead, Elsie’s dead, is Linda still alive?
Yes shes living in Canada with ivan
Ken's mum is a diamond.
16:16: Lol, bloody rude!
Daphne Oxenford, say to anyone of a certain generation "Are you sitting comfortably?" and they'll remember her voice.
I wonder if Leslie sharp took insperation of Annie walker when she took off bobs wife in Rita and sue and Bob too, because she sounds exactly the same!
Make your own fucking tea !!
They eat a lot in this show LOL. Would love to know the budget for food! 😁
Clair Marie In some shows, they show people eating because it was part of the story - but they usually ate ‘real’ food. It meant that what they would eat off camera could be incorporated into the story.
"ZINC? SARDINES IN A CAN, "
Did kens father ever say a nice word to him.
Don't ever let me hear you use language like that again.
God if only she knew!
Why are they speaking so quickly? 😂 Poor direction as some dialogue is lost.
That's just the way they speak. It's natural for them. Your ear will learn soon enough.
"You can be a Billion eire, but you only have Two Ears and Seconds to act on what you hear. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE??"
"FORMULA ONE Has now BECOME FORMLA FUCKING SHUN."
"YOU DO NOT CONTINUE TO FIND EVIDENCE OF THE VURUS, ONLY IGNORANCE IS AVAILABLE."
Sherry wine? That sounds disgusting! But then I don't drink, lol, so who am I to say.
Elizabeth Ross-Watson Sherry is a wine. it’s not a combination of the two...

Ken was hoping to move out so he could have a bachelor pad.
