- Jerry Seinfeld recalls the creative process behind his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee episode with then-president Barack Obama. He discusses the original plan to visit a coffee shop but wasn’t able to due to the size of the Secret Service, as well as wanting a top secret file and a copy of Mad Magazine on the coffee table but having to settle for fruit instead.

Yes. Every interview I’ve seen him do in the last 10 years he’s come across like a total jerk. Breaks my heart. Loved the TV series!! I also hear he is a complete arrogant dick. Rich, yes. Successful, yes. But what does it all mean if you are a crappy human. Never meet your heroes as they say.

Totally agreed. He’s always taken himself way too seriously for a comedian.
I like comedy but I guess I just can’t relate to why people find Jerry Seinfeld funny. I think he was usually the least humorous person on his own show. The egotistical nature of what I’ve witnessed from him over the years makes him even less likable for me. Seinfeld seems to think that he is the arbiter for what is and isn’t funny, also. Furthermore, I think his stance on Gaza is very out of touch, and he plays identity politics and victim while discussing the situation; yet simultaneously, is a billionaire and no doubt has lots of influence on many decisions that effect the world as we know it. We all have our sins, but Jerry Seinfeld seems unrepentant for anything he has ever said or done negatively to anyone, and seems to be full of excuses and/or anger when confronted with any sort of backlash. I like Graham Bensinger as an interviewer, but I have no doubt that he threw Jerry exclusively softballs and there was likely a meeting beforehand on what was appropriate to question or discuss in regards to Seinfeld’s life/career.
