  • Showing you the features of the 2022 TurfMaster HDX 30". I also mention a few differences between the TurfMaster HDX and the TimeMaster. I will also mention some upgrades that have been applied to the TurfMaster HDX 30".
    Toro is the parent company of Exmark which is why their 30-in mower looks almost identical to the Turfmaster.
    The links below will take you to some of the videos that helped me make a decision between the Timemaster and the Turfmaster. Please be aware that the model I have is from 2022 so some features may vary depending on the upload date of the videos below.

    THANK YOU -- that is the best review I have seen on the Turfmaster HDX
    & it is about as current a version as you can get in 2022.

      Thanks for that. It is however lacking and I will be deleting that video and posting new video with more information and the insight that I've gained since I purchased it and made the initial video.

    Really nice review, made me pull the trigger and just bought a 2023 Turfmaster (got it before they adjusted prices too!). I think the only difference is the Kohler engine is a CV224, so 224cc vs the 200cc. Thanks!

      One thing I should mention is that as I'm mowing, I offset my rows. Because of how heavy it is I'll go slightly inside or outside the row instead of going over the same tire track. I usually use my previous treadmark as a guideline but not with this mower. It can make some lasting depressions.
      And thank you for your very generous comment! I've just sharpened my blades and my oil was changed last season's so I'm ready to go.

      @@truthloveandhappiness3026 Thanks for that advice too, it is designed with the blades reaching as wide as the tires, but the thing is a beast! I upgraded from my toro 21" recycler (15 yrs old) and it is massive compared. I was actually surprised how smooth I could maneuver it from loading-unloading and then just to storage for now. When I mowed my front and back yard it would take me close to an 1.5 hours and during the growing seasons even longer, looking forward at saving a lot of time and having the ability at raising the deck during mid summer. I have to wait probably until the end of April to use it, but really excited. Enjoy the mow!

      @@adambarlow81 if you will look at the deck, it actually extends out past the tires so I have that margin to play with so I don't have to go over the same track. My mower's name is The Beast.

    Anyone here has had any issues with this mower? I just recently bought a used one replaced the blades belt so I removed the transmission belt as well. After installation my self propelled lost power. I heard it could be the transmission cable but I also noticed the transmission belt is kinda loose but can’t figure out a way to tighten

    Thanks for the great review. How has the mower held up for you? I've been debating getting one of these. I currently use a commercial 21" toro with the Kawasaki engine on it. It's been great but it takes a while to mow lawns with it. Was looking at the 30" but there's many mixed reviews on it.

    • @truthloveandhappiness3026
      @truthloveandhappiness3026  Před rokem

      It's been given the moniker the beast. It's held up beautifully. A 21 inch Honda mower is right around 90 lb. The turfmaster is 179 lb with a full tank of gas. You have 180 lb sitting on four fairly small points of contact so you have to be more aware of the condition of the soil or else you can make some lasting depressions, At HOA homes they can be very very picky so you need to know what you're doing. It's self-propelled which puts a lot of torque on the back tire so that they could spin if the ground is damp. I've had zero issues. I purchased a new set of blades but currently I'm using an angle grinder to keep displayed sharp and balanced and will keep on using it until it becomes unsafe to sharpen it. Do I recommend it? Absolutely yes. Have they had issues in the past? They were sued on multiple occasions and 2017 and 2019. There was a problem with the air filter, engine, blade system but they went from the Kawasaki engine that they used to have on there over to the Kohler engine. Killed two birds with one stone so better engine and that comes with a better air filter. Everything has been corrected so because of their own issues I think it's actually made the more even more reliable like I should have been in the first place.
      This probably goes without saying but stay the hell away from the timemaster if you mow anywheres near a commercial capacity. The Kohler engine does come with a 3-year warranty regardless of residential or commercial use. Time Master gives you 45 to 90 days at most if you use it in a commercial capacity.

      @@truthloveandhappiness3026 Thanks for the great feedback. I only mow 10 lawns on weekends as a side hustle. They range in size from 1 000 sq feet to 4 500 sq feet. Cost difference is a lot where I live here in Canada. The Timemaster is about $2 000 Canadian while the Turfmaster is $3600 Canadian with the 224 cc Kohler. Right now, my 21" commercial Toro works great...just slow.

      The Beast is so big that I think I'm actually spending more time loading, unloading and weed eating than I am actually mowing. I took care of six properties today with one of them being seriously overgrown and the Beast didn't flinch. On top of that a neighbor of one of the properties asked me to just mow her front lawn which took about 20 minutes total including weed eating and clean up. Got $100 for that! She then tells me that they have a regular crew to come over but today is her mom's birthday and she just wanted to surprise her, she's 96 years old. ❤️
      In short, I call him The Beast because he's earned that title. 👍

    Tab front wheels is exmark
    Back is single adjustment still.
    Timemaster two point height adjustment super easy.
    Only differences are
    Engine, trans, frame, pulleys, bbc lever, cable size, and gas tank.
    Definitely worth getting vs the Timemaster. I’ve had all three and currently have a Timemaster with Kohler 224cc engine the one that should of been on your turfmaster

    • @truthloveandhappiness3026
      @truthloveandhappiness3026  Před rokem

      The Beast it's still young and I already have an oil change and a new accessory setup for his 8-hour birthday. I wasn't aware of the larger Kohler engine but I will look into it and see how that changes my warranty and if it's going to be a worthwhile change. Toro currently says that we, owners of the turfMaster, shouldn't be hooking up a striper to the back because of the excess weight because it's designed for the Timemaster but I wonder if a bigger engine would help with that or if I would need a bigger transmission as well. It's a slippery slope.
      I appreciate the information. I'm already in the process of creating a better and hopefully error free video and deleting this one and these nuggets help. 👍❤️

    • @truthloveandhappiness3026

      Depending on where you shop, anywhere from $2,300 to over $4,000.
      After having this more for a while I did an oil change, blade sharpening and general tune-up of the mower yesterday. The huge investment is a damn good motivation to make sure I'm not wasting money beyond the necessary profit that the manufacturer and third party seller collects.

      I'm not sure but according to the forums it looks like somewhere around August 2021. And there were things like the air filter that weren't exactly right on the older models. The Time And Turfmaster have had a bumpy road and multiple lawsuits. I think there was one in 2019. After all that, I think I've picked a good one.
