marillionmark, you have my support. Carter had fast bikes, a lot of guts but was short up top. Bruce had nowhere to go in this incident and Carter just closed him down on the inside. With no brakes, what is he supposed to do?
watch the vid and u will see kenny pass on the out side seen him do that move many times box office was kenny one of the greats rip king kenny speedway s great loss
I have one question from what I saw. Why Penhall pushes and pushes Carter to the outer circle, instead of going forward, because in front of him completely opened the road on the inner circle. Maybe he wanted to punish Carter?
Personally I think Penhall was the cause of that and the ref was right to exclude him. Penhall had the last laugh though winning the Intercontinental and World Finals.
Carter almost took out two Riders to get to the first turn but was not called out for that now that's cheating. Everyone knows Bruce penhall takes the corners very wide so why in the hell would you take it on the outside. To all of you who praise Carter just ask his wife what kind of person he was.
Bless his soul ? The guy was a lunatic and a murderer . I watched him once at Belle Vue trying to punch Peter Collins in the face , while Collins was lying on a St John's ambulance stretcher . Good rider yes , but a disturbed person .
Best british rider of the 1980's? Total rubbish, that honour went to Mike Lee who made Carter look like a second half junior in the Golden Helmet leg at the Shay in 1983 while also smashing the track record in both races. The Shay unofficially became known as 'Kenny's Kingdom' , I always thought that this was pathetic. Some of us remember it as 'Booey's Backyard' and a FAR happier and successful time it was too for the Dukes, Carter was all for himself and hadn't a clue about team riding.
Bollocks, Carter was the only decent rider Halifax had. As for team riding no other of his team mates were anywhere near him in a race. I paid my money to be entertained and Carter was the only one to do that. I was also a great fan of Booey but he had a much better team around him than when Kenny had.
Bruce Penhall and Kenny Carter had a great rivalry. That's racing at its best

carter impeded two other riders from the tapes purposely to get to penhall

great pass by Carter but then he locks down and almost stops in front of Penhall! Carter should have been excluded for impeding another rider.
bollocks!!!!

He could have shut down but the delay from the drugs screws up rational thought
You have evidence of drug use?
Carter's fault! Slowed down purposely! Why? Who knows! Few sandwiches short of a picnic!
