Purchased one of these from Costco and installed it today. Straight forward and easy install. Had to get a longer supply line, not Kohler's fault. Like all toilets, check dimensions, this one was a tight fit even with a 12" rough in.
To replace the Aquapiston with a flapper valve on a 2011 1.28 Highline, would I need any special parts or does it take a standard 2" or 3" flush valve?
You would just get a regular 2 inch flush valve for that one. Only the ones made prior to 2010 need the special flush valve. That isn't the case for other models though, just Wellworths and Highlines.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations ohh I see, mine was posted on May 7th, 2023. This video was just uploaded to CZcams on a later date. This is the first video of one filmed by a toilet enthusiast.
@@darfieldzone5309 Since it's still the same toilet as it was then, I could film it 2 years from now and it would still be the first on CZcams because of that original video. I count CZcams firsts by their upload dates.
I’m not the biggest fan of Class 5’s but at least this one doesn’t use the lame aqua piston. I guess this is the best new design Kohler’s team of secret highly-paid engineers could come up with 🤷🏼♂️
That's a display toilet lol. I posted this Intrepid before that too. Here is the video I took the day I installed it. czcams.com/video/wVcF4fuTz34/video.html
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations ik it’s on display and that’s why I also said yours was the first video of one flushing. This one was posted over a year ago czcams.com/video/HCoFdDTLe8Y/video.html. This one is the first as it was posted before yours
The flapper improved the flush a lot. Even though some people don't like them, I think class 5 are some of the best performers among modern toilets and are even better without the aqua piston.

This one has worked pretty well but I did replace the flush valve with one that uses more water.

I like it! Good thing there is a flapper! I kinda want one!
It's a pretty good toilet
Yt first congratulations for OCC Plumbing and Restorations! 🎉 Good toilet.👍
Thanks!
This one is pretty nice.
I agree
Good toilet
Good thing I saw those at Costco
I believe they're a Costco exclusive.
They replaced the AquaPiston in this one, and I saw this at Costco in Garden Grove last year
I actually replaced it before I installed it for them!
Amazing toilet
I respect your opinion
Damn, these flush nicely on a flapper
Very true
Nice long flush
It works better that way.
How is it a first since I filmed one before this video was uploaded?
The first video of this particular toilet was posted on July 30th of 2022. When was yours posted?

@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations oh that makes sense
Honestly I kinda like the flushes on class fives with auqapiston but performance with a flapper
I prefer them like this for everything
Cool toilet
I agree
great toilet! i hate these with the aqua pisston but when they dont have it they are great
Yeah, they need to get rid of that already.
PUNISH THE AQUAPISTON!
The aquapiston that came with it.
@@mrmikeytj I kept it and I still have it

It came with an Aqua Piston but I removed it before installation
Not a fan of the extended siphon but good on kohler for not turning this model into a rev360
The extended siphon helps it work better.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations understandable
Awesome! The toilet itself isn’t a YT First however this is the first video of one flushing!

@@BTRPlumbingThat one was posted before mine but I don't think display toilets really count.
I’m sure the bowl rinse is terrible lol. Nice video though
Thanks! The rinse is actually not bad because of the long flush.
I like this toilet because it doesn’t have an AquaPiston
Same
good toilet imo.
I agree
Punish the aquapiston like a fill valve
I kept it
Intrepid sounds too much like a Eljer or Mansfield name lmao
And its the class 5 varient bruh
Is there another kind of Intrepid?
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations nah, im just saying that its a name that Eljer or Mansfield would use lol
I think i found a video of one flushing so this isn't a YT first

@@OCC_Plumbing_and_RestorationsWow, CZcams decided not to notify me about your reply for no reason and now I don't remember what the video was called
@@ILVT_Plumbing Oof. I guess this one will remain a first.
A class 5 with no aqua piston?????

@@aldoayhoniz190 It has caused no problems that I know of and it's been installed for a year.
I see this just as a wellworth. Owner probably made up the name
Kohler made up the name. It has a different tank.
Lol still the same class 5 trapway.
Yep, it's the same bowl as the Highline
can you punish this toilet
This is installed in someone's bathroom lol
The only good modern flushing toilet

Not so impressed it looks just like a Kohler class five these things are all the same
The bowl is the same as the Highline
As seen at Costco

I'm glad this is a gravity version
Eh
Beats the previous one imo

A look of disappointment on my face
It replaced a Vortens

Average-sized trapway👍

Flapper👍
