    I think you should have sewn the sleeves and panels together normally and then added the brown looset stitch on top, just for the look. That way it would be more ‘functional’ in my opinion. Its still a wonderful job!

      tbh i might even go back and do this… definitely think it’ll stretch out over time so making it more durable is a good idea😅 ty for the tip❤

    Looks sooo awesome!! I think a higher contrast yarn for the stiching would hvae made it stick out more but it looks soo nice and I'm inspired to do it too!!

    You should try tunisian crochet!! You can create a knit looking fabric but the actual process feels like crochet and knitting had a baby😆 tl yarn crafts has great tutorials

    Your gauge changed and that's why there's a difference in length abd width. It happens all if the time. I mainly knit with superwash wool so I can block it out most times.

    What were your measurements or like how many stitches did you cast on for each piece? I really wanna make this and your video inspired me to finally give the courage to start I just don’t know what to gauge for many stitches to cast on :)

    • @laurienesdahl6817
      @laurienesdahl6817 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Make a gauge swatch,then count stitches per inch. Use your own measurements and multiply your measurements by the stitches per inch of your gauge swatch. Good Luck!

    not me literally dying to make this for so long but idk where to start bc my knitting knowledge is below basic omggggg THANK YOU

      It is actually rather basic though, it's just plain basic knit (front and back row) and either increase (if you knit from the top) or decrease (if you knit from the bottom). It's a basic raglan cardigan (Melanie did a boxy cardigan though, which is even easier for plain knitting, but more difficult for the neckline) with either decorative contrast color stitching at the eges, or decorative chunky crochet. You can find many free online tutorials for basic raglan tops and raglan cardigans, i recommend the free knitting patterns by 'Drops' - you can use the drops yarn or smth else. Their patterns are easy to understand (for me at least), but at the very bottom they also have short videos showing the different techinques used in the pattern. I learned to knit socks with them.

      @@olgahein4384 ohhhh wait thank you ! i have made a raglan sweater before in the round top down, but i wouldn’t know how to make different panels to attach them later on with crochet. or do you mean like just making a plain raglan sweater and stichting in the details at the end

    • @olgahein4384
      @olgahein4384 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@serenitybysaf Yeah, i think you can easily do a normal raglan, just as a cardigan instead of a sweter, and stitch in the details afterwards. Will be easier too, i think.

    • @melanielocke
      @melanielocke  Před 5 měsíci +1

      tbh i think if you know how to knit a raglan sweater you have more than enough experience for this! I only did straight up knit rectangles in different shapes and stitched them together at the end but honestly knitting a raglan and then adding on stitching detail for detail would probably be even more durable! best of luck

      I also suggest finding another outfit that is the same size as what you want to make. That way you can use that for measurements as well as utilize CZcams.
