We live in a democracy where half of the voters have different interests to the other half, so male votes get a say in policies that effect womens lives. As a result of this anything any government agrees to is bound to come crashing down one day as male opinions change and vote different. In the past the left praised democracy but forgot to consider what happens when the opinion of the majority is not for the majority and is just for themselves. Women as a group dont have the resources to run a private system for women and they cannot depend on any government to build a long term solution for women because democracy prevents anything long term and forces the system through never ending cycles of right then left.

the issuse is not an exclusivly female one, there are more men living on the street then women.

also "women as a group" ? That is nonsensicle term, women do not exist as one entity. Middle class white women (like the one in this video) are the second most powerfull demographic in the world apart from middle - upper class white men.

Class is a construct and biology is real, all those who are female have a group interest in making sure they dont end up under the rule of men or forced to reproduce.

It just happens fear of loss of class privilege is stopping those women with the real resources and power to further feminism so that all women get full rights, from doing so. Thats why things got stuck once the high class women got the jobs they wanted.

Its patriarchy and hierarchy that separates those with need for services and those who deliver them. Today women have gained certain rights to work within the patriarchal system and as a result have to divide themselves based on the already existing patriarchal divisions of class, rich poor, needy vs fully together and without need etc. Its suits patriarchy because it helps keep separate the exploiters from the exploited so the exploited dont work out that the system they are seeking help from is the reason they need the help in the first place. Now womens aid has become part of the system and not something in opposition to the system the politics are getting remove and red tape is there to again hide control as protection.
