The Riverlander's journey from Swan Hill to Southern Cross on 10 March 2024

The Riverlander is one of the chartered trains on the Slow Rail Journeys tour organised by Seven-0-Seven Operations Inc.
This company has preserved various types of locomotives and carriages and has a number of tour trains that run them on the main line.
The 2024 The Riverlander ran a three-day tour of Tooleybuc and Swan Hill from 8-10 March.
Single (no supplement) fares range from $1000 to $1295.
Twin Cabin fares (for two guests) range from $1800 to $2890.
Considering that in the past the sleeping car express Hokutosei cost around 40,000 yen one way from Ueno to Sapporo in a private room royal , 100,000 yen and up for three days seems like a very good value.
This time, at the kind invitation of a friend, we chased the train from Swan Hill to Southern Cross, a distance of 300 km, in his car and filmed it. (600km in one day! Thank you so much).

That was great, must have taken alot of time and effort to get that, given the distances, I really enjoyed seeing some trains from Australia on the channel

train with ghost cars? There are no people visible in the passenger cars, it’s a strange train..
