Mid Size SUV Comparison, a 1080p video, should help you decide which SUV best suits your needs and budget. I wanted to buy a Mid Size SUV that had the Features I wanted and was the best Value. (See below for Small SUVs)
I am not a big fan of whining CVT Transmissions, so Outlander, X-Trail and HR-V were marked down. The Sportage was marked down for poor Fuel Economy. The CX-5, Outlander, X-Trail and RAV4 were marked down for not having a Full Size Spare Wheel as standard. The CX-5, Outlander, X-Trail and RAV4 were marked down for not having a normal Hand Brake to allow me to do a Scandinavian flick turn. The CX-5, Tucson and Outlander were marked down for not having any Front Parking Sensors. The X-Trail was marked down for not having Rain Sensing Wipers. The X-Trail was also marked down for only having a 7" Multimedia Touchscreen. The CX-5 and Outlander were marked down for having an annoying Stop Start Engine. The Outlander was also marked down for having the worst Warranty. The CX-5, Tucson and RAV4 were marked down for being too Expensive.
So the Mid Size SUV that offered the most bang for the buck is the Kia Sportage QL (2020) SX (luxury level). The Sportage also has a Tilt and Telescopic adjustable Steering Column, Downhill Brake Control and Hill-start Assist Control, a Burglar Alarm, Roof Rails, Ambient Temperature Display, plus free Sat Nav Map updates for 10 years. In addition, the design of the rear doors means the Sportage has the best rear seat access for tall adults, or for fitting a toddler in a rear car seat. Surprisingly the similar body Hyundai Tucson has a different shaped rear door and so lacks this convenience and Hyundai only has a 5 year Warranty, while Kia has an ongoing 7-year Warranty. With all things taken into account for the seven vehicles I reviewed in early 2020, the Kia Sportage is a clear winner in this Mid Size SUV Comparison.
N.B. In April 2020, Kia was the 3rd top selling car brand in Australia, helped by my purchase.
Also in April 2020, Kia was the top selling car brand in New Zealand, just ahead of Toyota.
