When I was 23, I met a woman through work who was 42. Two months later I moved in with her. She had 4 kids (they didn't live with her!), one older than me, one the same age and two slightly younger. We all got along great. I was transferred with work and she didn't want to leave her family. We commuted back and forth for awhile but it just wasn't working. Personally I don't think an age gap matters as long as both are mature adults when the relationship starts. The problem is when a 30 yr old go for an 18 yr old etc. I'm sure there will be exceptions but overall maturity often does come with age and we know the brain isn't fully developed until around 25.
