I feel the false/second entry does help redirect the energy a lil, and you'd hear anyone coming in, and no one can really peek thru that little porthole window beside the main door. Not much worse than having a wall-facing desk in a deeper room, tbh

@@diemcee5595 I think it's more of a feng shui thing and that people generally prefer to have doors in their view. It's a deeply ingrained habit of seeing any potential danger coming. 😅
my dad both works at a place that sells herman miller chairs and is genuinely interested in chairs in general so i opened up the sims, made a basement full of lights and just. Showed him all the chairs in all the packs i have. Kept on saying "oh thats based on [brand]" "we sell that one" "id paint that one" and he really liked it.

Take it from a tax accountant, you can sit in HM all day and not get sore at all - my office has them, and I'll be getting one for my home set up when I'm ready to part with my current gaming chair.

She’s got multiple aerons as well so definitely raking it in. Which is why it’s a bit ironic for her to suddenly advertise literally the most premium desk chair you can get considering she always try’s to recognise that the vast majority of the ppl watching is not is able to buy every sims dlc and they are around the same price.
Having the fake entryway is such a nice thing to have when you have animals, because you can keep them from escaping so much more easily!
my family has a older house with a small vestibule like that. when you open one door my parents start yelling “AIRLOCK AIRLOCK” so the dog and cat don’t get out 😭😭
and a very common thing in the scandinavian countries. A room to break from the cold winter and where you and your guest leave the dirty/wet coats and shoes before entering the appartment/house
imagine a study room type kit with more computers, laptops , clutter and SECTIONAL DESKS with corner pieces and L shape desk pieces to make whatever shape desk that you could have more than one computer on
This is like my dream. I looove cluttered offices in the Sims!
I would love to see a streamer that spends their life online in their gaming room, piles of video games, energy drinks, collectibles, and playing new games that would come in the pack (would look great with high school years); a stressed out writer surrounded by shabby stacks of paper books and clutter, furiously typing (would also partner great with the booknook kit); an entrepreneur sim with a sleek laptop, with filing cabinets, printers, TABLE/WALL PHONES!!!! and comfy meeting chairs (city living/dream home decorator match up?).

Pro tip if windows don't delete. Build a room including the window and raise the platform up to the top, it'll delete it and once you delete the room and platform, it'll remain like that.

Well that’s a way to delete the current window but as far as adding your own… there’s not a way to fully do that on those stubborn walls without a mod.

a bit off topic, but i think sometimes you should try something different from the floor plan you usually do. for example, everytime you can fit 2+ bedrooms you turn them into a kids/teen bedroom, but you could also make them music rooms, art studios, candle makers spaces, little cinemas, laundry room etc...
i think sometimes making more houses with these different, but useful spaces could be really cool!!!
I love how all of us cozy gamers (ie. Simmers and Stardew players) act like we aren’t real gamers because we love a cozy blanket and soft lighting lol

Yeah, the Herman Miller chairs are more expensive than my entire gaming PC (possibly even if I had bought all the parts at full price- I waited for sales on every single part, lol). I'd love to save up for one eventually but it's just not a priority, even though I sit at my desk for a lot more than 8 hours a day 😅a $20 butt pillow and a free back pillow are doing wonders for now, despite my landfill-worthy chair. Happy for her to get such a sponsor, and that she and Dan can afford them, but as you said, probably not many of us are about to buy them in this economy 😂

When my mom lived in an apartment, the bedrooms were close to the front door bc there were less windows so there was more light in the living room, kitchen and dining room! Its weird but it works haha
It's the same in my apartment, first room is the bedroom, you have to walk through the whole apartment to go to kitchen. It's really small, so it's no issue, but it's literally the last thing here, and it's not like there's more light, the smallest window is there and all the windows are on one wall 😂

i honestly have no idea. I just noticed it by chance a couple of weeks ago when I was renovating one of the penthouse apartments. I'm thinking it maybe came in one of the post-release bug fix patches for For Rent, but I can't say for sure.

I actually love this apartment. The color scheme is terrific and I love the carpet and bed in the bedroom. I think it’s a great beautiful apartment for a gaming couple. They each have a desk set up

I don't have a Herman Miller chair (mine is a Lifeform, out of Canada), but if you can get a rugged, long-lasting, high adjustable chair like one of theirs (or mine), I will tell you that they are worth every single penny. I've had mine for 16-ish years, and I am loving it to death I strongly recommend that if you spend a lot of time in an office chair, it's worth every penny to go for a high quality one.
I don’t play the Sims anymore (I didn't have any time during school) but I am just finishing up my bachelors degree in interior design. I do the same thing laying out furniture to make sure spaces fit properly in the overall space! Also, so cool that you were sponsored by HermanMiller! I use their furniture in my designs all the time! I want one of their gaming chairs so badly, I don't game but I do spend probably just as much time on my computer!

I either do the "sketch out" or i only do the basic furnishing first and then go back and add rugs and clutter and such. I ALWAYS do it with my bigger builds because theres so much for me to decorate.
