  • This video was created specifically with the students at SMU / Dr. George Mukhari Academic Hospital in mind, for their 5th year rotation in the Dept of anaesthesia. The video will also be a good introduction for interns, technical staff and nurses who will be joining the department for the first time. Basic introduction looking at the concepts of premedication, induction, muscle paralysis, maintenance of anaesthesia and analgesia.

To make them feel a little bit more relaxed.
Like seriously this shit IV made me not care about anything within seconds. I was mildly panicking because of the big needle for the nerve block and the anaesthesist noticed and said: needs dormicum. I got shot and within seconds i started to feel totally alright. Didnt even feel the big needle, just a lil bit, not painful at all. I then watched the needle being put to the nerve on a screen and didn't care, it went in my upper leg and it was a 20 cm needle easily. He eventually saw me moving my mouth in "pain" and said give some fentanyl. The next 2 mins i was high af and didnt care about NOTHING they done.3 minutes before i was really anxious. Its a miracle. Finally they gave me propofol when the block was at the right position and i went completely unconscious. This whole procedure took less than a couple minutes, at most three. Insane
