Simplemente expreso mi admiraciòn por el gran compositor austriaco Frank Wilibald Schmidt, profesor, compositor violonchelista y director de la orquesta sinfònica de Viena quien creò esta maravillosa Opera, titulada "Notre Dame" en el año 1904. Todo director de orquesta que le toque estar al frente se estremecerà porque la belleza armonica de esta melodia es indiscutiblemente obra divina. Desde Lima, capital del Perù les comentò Luis Alberto Espinoza Bazàn.

A ne pas confondre avec le musicien français Florent Schmitt (1870-1958) disciple de Fauré. Il ont été contemporains et ont porté pratiquement le même nom de famille avec des orthographes légèrement différentes.

Qué pena que ahora casi todas las radios comerciales limeñas, salvo Radio Filarmonía y 2 o 3 más, solo emitan música chatarra. Saludos.
I must say that I completely disagree with you about the opera Notre Dame. I found it to be a tightly knit and very effective opera with affecting, first-rate music. The Carnival music, Dungeon scene and other things come to mind immediately. A near great work.
I bought a recording of "Notre Dame" many years ago and was very disappointed by it. The Intermezzo is wonderful and very beautiful, but I found the rest of the opera surprisingly dull and the libretto very static, which is a shame, given that "The Hunchback of Notre Dame/Notre Dame de Paris/Der Gloeckner von Notre Dame" is a wonderful story and source.

zählt zu den romantikern,chopin, brahms,schumann!inspirativ zu romanen etc eine schöne melodie zu schenken!

Jim Glass That is exactly what I thought. This intermezzo is so beautifull that it makes you teary. But the rest of this opera is very very dull!!
Very nice but I still prefer Karajan and Vaviso.
