Overview - Special thanks to Jesse for inviting me out to fish with him, had a blast slaying perch!
Had a very interesting start to our day. Believe it or not, we weren't supposed to catch even a single perch, being bass guys, we got to the reservoir planning on chasing some chunk largemouth the whole time.
Jesse arrived a few minutes before I got there at about 7 am. He is fortunate enough to have access to free boat rentals since his family is good friends with the owner of the boat rental shop. The week before, Jesse scoped the place out and saw a sign that said, "boat rentals available friday-monday." No problem, since we met up yesterday, which was a monday.
But... upon arrival, the sign was updated to say, "boat rentals available on weekends." Well, there goes our original plan to crush bass all day. Fortunately, Jesse had plan B ready and we traveled south to fish the reservoir dams. We started at the southernmost dam, but didn't have a whole lot of success.
We fished it for a couple hours until about 10 am, and all we had to show for it for a couple dink largemouth and several missed fish/strikes. We then made a move and walked up towards the bigger dam, and thats when the fishing went berserk!
The very first cast, Jesse hooks up with a super fat yellow perch, the biggest I'd ever seen! Within 20 minutes, we had a caught over a dozen perch and a bonus brown trout, all on one of my favorite fall bass lures, the lipless crankbait. The fish were keyed in on little 3"-4" shad, proven when one of the perch regurgitated a halfway digested gizzard shad.
For the next few hours, we caught more perch than I could count, some of them weighing in close to 1.5 pounds. The action slowed down after about 90 minutes of fishing, possibly because the school of shad the fish were feeding on moved somewhere else, but had another great experience on the water, and I'll be looking forward to chasing some more chunky perch this winter when the bass fishing slows down xD

+Cameron Brock I fish all year for trout, and much like you said, Rainbow Trout are very touchy. I regretfully hooked a nice 22 inch Rainbow and fought it too hard. It was not able to be revived and soon died. I felt terrible because I practice good C&R. (Except for a few here and there). Brown Trout are extremely strong but will fight with all their* worth. The can tire very quickly as well and dropping one from a height like that is a close death sentence. Cheers and happy fishing.

You're videos are great man but you gotta take better care of those fish, like you can't be keeping them out of the water for so long and just throwing them 10-20 feet down. The goal of catch and release is to take a picture do whatever you want but get the fish back in there ASAP. You don't have to listen but that's how most fishermen feel and I know I follow this rule when i'm fishing, watch Uncut Angling and you can see that they talk about quick release all the time.
