The way he held his note on the word "Me" and the way Karen held her note on "Me" were two different approaches and executions, but to the untrained ear, you would think they were the same. However, Karen's is more impressive because she held her note continuously without taking a breath, while Tim Bowen held his note while he was actively breathing. To those like myself who are trained, we recognize his approach and execution of the note on "me" as "circular breathing." Although it's not easy to do without being noticed, it is possible, and that's what he did. It doesn't take anything away from him, but I would have been more impressed if he had approached and executed it like Karen did. For those who are not trained, yes, it is possible to hold a note for an extended period and make it appear as if it's a single, continuous note without taking a visible breath.
