'While Cleopatra was born in Egypt, she traced her family origins to Macedonian Greece and Ptolemy I Soter, one of Alexander the Great's generals. " Not Greek but of Greek descent, as they say.

I'm triggered - was desperate to get some at both my semi and senior formal, both times was rudely avoided by the opposite sex for practically the only time in my life. Don't want things kids.

The fact that Chris can’t see how damaging this narrative is, proves, how problematic he is.

Satire is a form of comedy that exists. Chris has every right to satirize these types of people if he so chooses and to be frank, compared to some of his more racial comedy, I think Ja'mie is one of the least problematic. Especially considering that in all the shows she was in, it's made clear in the story that she's being absolutely ridiculous and is a horrible narcissistic person so it's not exactly like the character gets away with being a bad person. Even if in the story, the characters don't mind, viewers know exactly what shit mess she is.

@Jane lane In their defense though, there are sometimes portrayals that do cross a line and satirical comedy cannot be used as an excuse to justify it. But consider Chris's own humor and his intentions, I wouldn't categorize his work as problematic considering that his portrayal of these characters isn't meant to make fun of one group but rather specific people within those groups. Narcissistic school girls, abusive tiger parents, etc.

@Jane lane There is a time and place for certain things. A lot of the time's people's criticisms of such media are actually connected to their feelings about these real horrific things. Those two things aren't as disconnected as they may seem. I wouldn't boil it down to liberal sensitives as it's more so people just beginning to understand the impact they have in the world with a modern understanding and education on racism, sexism, which hasn't been the norm in generations past. But again there's a time and place, and even conversations like this help people gain a better understanding of these issues.
