I'm now here from the Nik nocturnal and Charlie on the podcast. I never knew Andy til I recently got into Nik well recent like last couple years. An I fell off from following the metal scene even as a metal head an musician. I just took a huge break on CZcams an stuff. So I missed out on so much.
I have a one and a half year old son with a seizure disorder that basically leaves him functioning at a newborn level. I have a playlist full of songs all random and scattered but whenever your songs come on he lights up, smiles and starts to become physically active. You bring our family a lot of joy. Thanks Andy

It's been 4 years and I'm STILL feel frustration. You were robbed of the win Andy. This is a whole different calibre of songwriting and vocal performance compared to any and every other audition/submission. I am still trying to understand what Sumerian were thinking when they decided that Devin would win. You were robbed. You have a potentially generation defining voice that is so undeniably versatile and powerful but pure and angelic at the same time. Plus your insane songwriting... Unreal.

I've seen like 12 of these auditions straight and nothing against the other people that have auditioned, but wow man, this was hands down the best one I've seen. It's unique in the way you arranged the vocal parts, how you chose to sang them, and the emotion you had in the recording. I love Wvnder and will keep supporting y'all, but my god if you don't win this then Sumerian is missing out.

My brother died a week ago in his sleep. He was a self taught guitar player that was really into music, and this was the last video he sent me before he died. I listen to this now probably 100 times a day. It’s my comfort rn, so thank you for that, because not much else is comforting at this point. I just want my brother back. 😭😭😭

I call tell you unequivocally that both Austin Bentley and Devin Barrus wish you were never born. This is far and away the best audition in every facet. The first intro verse needs a bit of work but outside of it, lyrically, technically and emotionally it is perfect. If by some massive blunder you are not picked, I hope you find your way into a project worthy of your voice my man! Bravo.

Had the privilege of meeting Andy and his old band, WVNDER this past year and they stayed at my old roommate's house with us for one of their tour dates and I can tell you from experience, this guy is one of the most talented musicians i've ever met. Awesome to hang with, and killer vocals. I relate to his feelings and lyrics on so many levels and that's what draws me into his music. Hope you always keep touring and doing what you love bro.

This is by far one of the best vocal audition for Sumerian project. I love how you arrange the vocal parts, and the placement of your high notes. Giving that uplifting vibe into it which is my fav part. Because this song has the ambient feels, when you hit those highs is like an emotion (gave me the goosebumps all the way)

Yea but the music is totally different. Only the lyrics are the same with a little different spun on it. I still prefer the Audition version. Music fits the lyrics better.

I've watched all the auditions so far and this just took me by complete surprise and gave me chills. I've been a bit one sided in my decisions of good and what's not good with my closed mindedness of thinking that there HAS to be screaming with this melody but this young gentleman destroyed any closed minded crap I ever thought with that awesome performance. Being a musician as well I should be ashamed of such one sided thoughts. Well done sir and thank you.

Ascendancy it was a big competition, and Andy was OBVIOUSLY the best pick, to win. But he didn’t win. And now the winner isn’t doing music, and Andy is in 3 amazing bands, one of which is monuments, which is one of the best Djent/Prog metalcore bands, currently

I personally think the other vocals was better and more memorable for that song. Shame really as it was tainted for him from the start with the comments and Andy being a more famous vocalist. It worked well for Andy though as he might've not joined MONUMENTS.

I'm still going to play around with this, but now that I've listened to yours and several others, I want to tell you that by far you voice, vibe and lyricism outstrips all that I've seen. I might be able to have a run at writing lyrics for this, but I can't imagine something more compelling as of this moment, that can really compare to what you've made here. I mean it, this is just so very excellent. I want the album.

you cant possibly know what this song means to me at this moment. Im going through some things at this moment and its a rough go for me spiritually and mentally. My wife told me she isnt happy anymore, we have a son together. She isnt denying my right to see him, but I have nothing. Ive got to build everything from the ground up and Im still keeping hope she will change her mind. This particular sing makes me realize there is hope if I want it. Andy you sang it perfectly, I really want to thank you and say keep writing and singing. You never know what it means to anyone.

Out of all the auditions, I keep coming back to listen to this one. It's so good!
Been listening to this song more...literally picking it apart. It is so on point, so emotional and even while using raw audio programs...it flows so perfectly with the music. His soul is in this song. The tone, cadance, vibratos and yes, even the screams. At the same time, he let's the instrumental solos come through. Some other artists didn't. He should have won. He has a great future ahead.
