I hope that man finds something that gives him purpose again. It’s a good life experience though this is something that will happen to everyone at some point in your life. He sounds young he’s got so much time to find something new or continue working on his goal after he heals.
I love how Dantes can be so sweet and kind to people who are in need. He can be kind to people, be serious when it is needed, but also be his goofy character that everyone loves❤. It's so depressing to see people who have lost their means of life, but Dantes just gave him motivation from thin air. Dantes is such a good person; it makes me wonder how people still see Dantes as a bad person after he has done so many good things. He started CRINGOLAO after CBOLAO had been canceled but still got flamed. He STILL gets flamed from the Yvonne incident after so many years even though he apologized and fixed his character after. Give some love to Dantes guys❤.
You should watch when talked to Dr. K it was really entertaining and it gave me a good grasp on his out of character persona it was really interesting

That's a brutal aspect of an athletic pursuit. One bad injury can take it all away. I think if you've worked hard enough and gotten good enough for athletic scholarships and the like, the plus is that other pursuits will seem easier.

Thoughts are the source of suffering, not external events.
Depression is the prolonged focus on negative thoughts caused by external events such as being unemployed, fat, family death, being single, insecure, injured, etc.
But it's impossible to suffer without thinking of what's making you suffer.
Here's a thought experiment:
Imagine the "love of your life" breaks up with you after a 10 year relationship.
Normally you would *think* about how much you miss her, you'd *think* about someone else being with her, you *think* about the good times you have, you'd *think* about all the regrets you have... Now imagine I snapped my fingers and wiped away every memory you had of that person. Do you think you would still suffer? No, you wouldn't, because the problem is ONLY in the thinking of the event, not the event itself.
Mindfulness meditation is the best tool to be able to see and experience this truth.
One cannot stop negative thoughts entering the mind, but one can immediately, with enough training, choose to "change the channel" and cease thinking on what makes you suffer.
This does not mean one should not aim to change most external event making them 'depressed', however. Rather, 'change the channel' so while you improve said events, you don't suffer along the way.

I had 2 surgeries performing my sport at a high level(tricking) tore my meniscus(6 month recovery) and achilles tendon(1 year recovery). I know exactly how you feel. Time heals everything. I thought I was doomed and never could return to where I was. You will be okay, I promise. I understand how doomed it feels but you will come back. Be optimistic and patient. Learn new hobbies and things. When you're back you will know what I'm talking about. Head up champ

Idk if it’s just you not understanding their conversation, but the importance lied on the fact that Dantes can understand how he feels, purely by the fact that he also had put years of dedication and hard work only for it to almost get thrown away by some unfortunate accidents. It wasn’t about their experiences both being hard but about both of them having their dreams and hours of dedication almost being lost.
