    An air raid staple that has spread across all systems and levels of football.

    Mesh is my go-to passing concept in Madden NFL.

    Lavell Edwards & Hal Mumme’s fav call. One concept with infinite tags. Great job!

    Loved the video and the concept man, great job. Could you talk about the Winston concept next?

      Glad to hear it. Just added Winston to the list. Gamepass still doesn't have All-22 available yet, so I won't be able to find some examples until that's back up. I'll be sure to go hunting for some clips of it when it's up though. JT O'Sullivan has done a great job digging through his playbooks and walking through those so it'd be cool to find some recent clips of the concept in the NFL.

      Glad to hear it. I’m actually a high school coach myself. Let me know if he ever has any questions. Hope he has a good season.

      @@WeeklySpiral I would love to hear about the plays and or offense that you run as a coach

    • @WeeklySpiral

      @@haydenhilgerdt I'm a big believer in giving pre-snap motion and shifts to force the defense to communicate. Especially at the lower levels. Outside of that, I run a lot of zone scheme for the run game because of the horizontal stress it can put on a defense and it fits more with the type of guys we get on the offensive line which tend be on the smaller side but a little more mobile. In the pass game, I believe in making things as linear as possible for the quarterback. I've used a lot of Dub Maddox's concepts in R4 to tie footwork to routes, which also gives QBs clear progressions for where their eyes should be and what they need to identify. I want to create as many "easy" throws as possible and that means attacking the middle of the field. Lots of digs, drags, and slants. It forces defenses to exchange routes across the middle and can exploit linebackers which are typically less athletic in pass coverage. As far as actual plays, Mills, Dagger, Mesh, and Sail are all big staples with some slight wrinkles or different ways to get to them from different formations or motions. Try to keep it the same concept for us but look different to the defense. Hopefully that gives a general sense. Hopefully that gives an idea of my general philosophy.

    Great video! Could you talk about the difference between Staley and Morris' defensive schemes?

    • @WeeklySpiral
      @WeeklySpiral  Před 3 lety +1

      Definitely a storyline I'm keeping an eye on this year! I did a breakdown last season on Staley and I'll have a video out on Thursday about the Fangio system (which by proxy includes Staley). It seems like Morris isn't going to change a ton, but he's historically specialized in Tampa 2 and a 4-3 base. I'd be surprised if he continues that with the Rams, but only time will tell once we get some film of their regular season games. Great suggestion and looking forward to seeing how the Rams defense does this year without Staley and John Johnson / Troy Hill.

    The Mesh concept takes too long to develop before getting sacked (QB needs to release that ball less than 2.5 seconds).

      I mean there are plenty of clips of mesh working in this video
