Me too. Everywhere the Stones played that tour became Rock and Roll central.
Local front page news and every song on the radio stations a Stones song and a certain electricity and excitement was in the air. Your Stones tickets were the most valuable possession you owned.

The first concert of my life, World Series of Rock, Cleveland Oh 1978, Peter Tosh backing up The Rolling Stones. Yes, my dad let me and four of my friends drive from Toledo to Cleveland before we were juniors in high school to see The Stones--not sure that was a good idea dad lol, but I was a Stones freak then and just as much now. RIP dad, you were much smarter than I realized then--I miss you so much, long live The Stones!

This was one of the few Rolling Stones tours that I stupidly missed (since my first Stones show in 1969). I was drunk in Arizona or something. I'm just glad that "Live in Texas" was finally released on DVD. The band was very tight that night.

Because Taylor was such a virtuoso a lot of folks really missed him when he left and didn't give RW the credit he deserved. While he had a different style than MT, I always thought Woodie was a fine guitarist and a good fit for the band.

One of the things that have always caught my attention with these guys is their wardrobe, it's crazy just like them and it makes them that more appealing and this has lasted decade after decade, always impeccable. I wonder if they pick their own attire or if the same person or people have been doing it for years? I suppose since I am a fashion buff I notice these things! :D

They have always been into flashy clothes. During the sixties they used to buy clothes in King's Road Antique Market
but in the seventies they had new fashion designers, specially Mick who had a new wardrobe for every tour. Some times with awful results (1989-90).

I saw that touring exhibit they had when they released Blue and Lonesome. The explanation on the variety of costumes showed they really put thought in it. And how all of them have stayed fit all these years. I'm not going to downplay their debauchery in their youth, but once they hit 35 on, they've really taken care of themselves. And of course, they can still kick ass musically. Listen to Blue and Lonesome.
