How to Copy & Paste from Illustrator to After Effects

- To copy and paste assets from Illustrator into After Effects, you'll need to paste them into a shape layer's path.

tnx for the amazing trip 😍😍😍 I'm trying this for 2 days... a tip from my side ( I was facing the same problem) if your strokes paste as shapes but you want strokes to apply trim path make sure in illustrator your brush defination is "Basic".

Does this no longer work? I feel like I'm following all the steps and it's not working for me.
Never mind, I just made a new solid layer and pasted the vector "in" that and it made the shape.

Just had to refer to this video again lol. Mr. Ferry's steps work flawlessly. To add, you can also select the pen tool, in AE, click within the comp and paste the vectors there, this automatically creates a shape layer and then you can proceed to follow the rest of the steps from there.
