Jose P.
Thanks Jose! Happy Friday to you too. Hope you have a great weekend as well! 😊
Excellent review of items useful for traveling as always, Thanks to you both!!!
Thanks! We appreciate the feedback. 😊
Awesome video!! I think I need one...I have so many cards in my wallet...thanks for sharing
Thanks! Glad the video was helpful. 😊
This is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for! I currently use a coin purse, and I like the compact size - it suits my simple needs well - I just don't like that there aren't separate compartments for coins and notes. Definitely going to look into this one more. Thanks for the review!
Awesome. Glad the video was helpful! 😊
Great review of a great wallet. I have had it for a few weeks and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It is a perfect compact wallet and as we transition from cash to contactless in the UK )there are shops that do not accept cash nowadays) this is the perfect wallet. I have to admit I am blown away by this wallet that I am thinking of getting the compact wallet for travel as well.
Thanks! Glad to hear that you're enjoying your Nodus wallet. They are very well made and thoughtfully designed. 😎
Great review . Wallet looks like a great replacement for the bellroy card pocket which I love too
I agree! My Bellroy is still in good shape, but I really like the external pockets and key slot on this wallet. 😊
@@TripAstute Thank you for the video. In your opinion - which one is better for coins? Nodus or Belroy?
2 questions, do the coins stay in place in its compartment? And also are the two cards outside snuggly secured? Thanks for sharing.
Ah! So bummed I missed the giveaway. I have a very similar wallet, but it only has one outside exterior slot, and the zip only runs along one side which can be quite cumbersome. This wallet (and some of the others you reviewed) meet my needs perfectly! Thank you so much for such a helpful review
Awesome! Glad the video was helpful. 😊
Nice! Ordered!
Very cool! Hope you like it! 👍
In continuation of my last comment - a wallet I've been looking at is the Lethnic zip wallet. It's very similar in terms of pockets/accessibility/simplicity, but price is much more affordable - which works well for my uni student budget :) Cheers!
I'll have to check out the Lethnic zip wallet as well. Thanks for the tip! 👍
Excellent Channel!! If You Had To Pick Between This Wallet And The Belroy Which Would You Pick?
If I were buying one for the first time, I think I would probably choose the Nodus Compact Coin. I like the extra features and outside pocket. Though I have to admit that I'm still using my Bellroy Card Pocket, mostly because it's managed to last for so long (4+ years). 😊
@0:49.. the beautiful city of Bath. I was actually born there :-). The wallet is gorgeous, but a bit too pricey for me. I have the Vaultskin Nottinghill and just ordered the Bellroy Card Pocket. The Nodus looks like something in between those two.
Bath is truly a beautiful city! I'll have to check out the Vaultskin Nottinghill -- thanks for the tip! 👍
Nice thorough review with excellent camera work, as always! Quick question: The Nodus internal pockets seem 'open' (flappy?) compared to the Bellroy Card Pocket's. Is this an issue, however small, in your use of the Nodus?
The Bellroy Card Pocket has more elastic sleeves. That being said, I didn't notice any issues when using the Nodus Compact Coin Wallet. But that might be because I have too many credit cards being stuffed in the sleeves. 😂
Trip Astute great, thanks
This is the wallet I want!
👍😊
I have been looking all over for a great wallet
Is there a wallet you can hide in your waistband when traveling
Just a question ! Do you play that guitar behind you ? Or is it just a decoration?
I used to play the ukulele, but it's definitely been a while. When I lived in Virginia, I joined a Meetup group that taught me how to play, and I really enjoyed it. I just haven't had the time since I moved back to Los Angeles. 😄
The very last time I carried cash was last March when I visited San Francisco! Other than that it’s been almost five years I haven’t carried cash ... I know why : I’ve once lost $220 and I vowed I would only carry cash unless it’s utterly necessary.
Wow, that's impressive. I feel like I still need to carry cash in Los Angeles, especially for parking expenses and some restaurants. Though I always ask if they take credit cards! 😊
Trip Astute Five years and counting !!
Thanks again
Thank you, Jorge! 😊
Thank you trip astute for the great videos and travel advice.
Which one is better bellroy card pocket o nodus compact card
They both are great wallets. The Nodus has more pockets and compartments, but my original Bellroy Card Pocket is still in good shape. Though when it eventually falls apart, I'll likely switch over to the Nodus Compact Coin or WaterField Design Finn Access wallet.
Just picked one up today for $55 USD today for their Black Friday sale.
Very nice. Well done! 👍
Where did you find it In US
What color is this? Black or brown? the black color seems more light of other wallets
It's the brown color. It has a bit of a gray tint as well.
What is engraved on the zipper? Does it say "YKK"?
ruvarkus YKK is a highly regarded brand of zipper
I emailed them and they told me it is a YKK zipper.
What is the color of wallet in the video ?
I believe it's the taupe grey color.
Top grain leather doesn't age to a patina. You need full grain for that.
Good to know. Thanks for the heads up! Interestingly enough, the box says full grain, but the website says top grain. I might need to ask Nodus to get the exact leather type. 👍
Yes, that is a huge quality (and price) difference.
www.thirteen50leather.com/collections/traveler-wallets Here is an example of a good top grain travel wallet the notebook really comes in handy.
How do you like this wallet compared to the Bellroy card pocket?
They are very similar. I like the exterior pocket of this wallet and the key slot. I'm still using my Bellroy Card Pocket at the moment, but once it's worn out, I will likely move over to the Nodus Compact Coin Wallet. 😊
Trip Astute I just ordered the navy bellroy myself. I do like the key feature and the exterior card slot on the Nodus myself but I was not sure if it was as compact as the bellroy. Are they a similar size? I might have to check one out as well.
Nodus appears to be strongly inspired by Bellroy... Their products are almost the same 🤔
There are definitely a couple of wallets that have a similar design and profile. The Nodus Compact Coin seems like something between the Bellroy zipper wallets (Card Pocket & All Conditions) and WaterField Finn Access. I love the inclusion of the external pockets and key slot! 😊
who wants to fold bills in thirds and stuff it in some nook or cranny ? do people not use cash anymore
It's definitely a trade-off between convenience and wallet size. I still carry cash, but I have to admit that I'm using it less and less each day. It seems like more "cash-based" businesses (e.g., parking, food trucks, etc.) are starting to accept credit card these days, which is much more convenient.
I'm a bit late to this party. I bought a Nodus and their warranty is hot garbage.
The zipper broke on this wallet less than halfway through the warranty period and I've sent literally a dozen emails to them asking for a warranty claim since April and gotten nothing but an automated response back. I've sent to every email address I can find for them online. I can only assume that since I'm an international customer, they don't need to care because I'm not about to open up an international court case about it.
They still email me their marketing offers though, so that's nice.
Yikes! Sorry to hear that you're getting such a poor response from their customer support. 😞
@@TripAstute It's a shame, the design is quite brilliant and I really loved carrying it.
It looks like a really nice wallet. but kinda expensive for ~$78.
Yeah, it might seem pricey, but it's definitely good quality! A wallet is something that I use every day, so I don't mind paying a little extra for the quality. Though that's just me. I don't drive an expensive car, but I used to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic, so go figure! 😄
