- Neopets gameplay! I played Neopets again to see what the gameplay is like.
Neopets is a pet simulator from the 90s that's making a comeback. Neopets gameplay is very much the same as it used to be back in the day!
What do you think of Neopets? Do you think it will make a revival? Or is the Neopets gameplay too bad for the modern era of gaming?

I got so addicted to Neopets when I was doing my masters. So addicted. Honestly amazed I even finished.
The wheel of monotony goes for about 3 hours. I'd pop it on and work for 3 hours, come back and get attacked by a pterodactyl.

I have been playing Neopets regularly the last 5 years after getting back into it during a Doctorate haha. Clearly it is a great degree distraction :D It's been in a sorry state for a while now so I am hoping the overhaul will bring lots of positive things.
I used to play this game with the kids I used to babysit. Those girls are now 22, 25 and 26 and they still talk about Neopets and wonder if it's still a thing. They remember me printing off coloring pages for them. I'm going to share this video with them! Thank you for the memories! Not much has changed in the game from what I can see. I remember my favorite pet Nimmo had a pet, a pet pet and a pet pet pet :D

The amount of hours I played neopets… I think I lived more on Neopia than Earth. It’s interesting cuz I also started playing the sims when neopets stopped working. This is a serious nostalgia moment.
I have been so excited for the website to have this update, like THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD! I vividly remember beginning to play NeoPets with my childhood best friend on DIAL UP! thankfully her parents got highspeed pretty quickly so we would typically play at her house, but OMG the days of dial up!

And the reason they're making a comeback is the previous site owner didn't give af about it or what the fans wanted. They took like 3 years to "update" the website to full on html5, but never even got to half of it. They left the site broken
So a fan bought it after that company went under! They're super taking care of it now and OMG the flash games are BACK!

Satch the first wheel you spun can spin up to many many hours (i think almost 12) but it has some really expensive things on it - you can even get a paintbrush!
My favourite neopets were always Xweetoks and Zafaras. Still using the lab every day to zap some pets xD
I was telling a friend I used to play the slot machine game in Neopets until I was broke and they said they would spend all their in game money until it was low enough to get free food.
So essentially I had a gambling addiction and they were exploiting the welfare system 😂

32 year old player here, account is like 20 years old. So fun seeing people rediscover this site it’s just like an injection of happiness right into my veins.
The fact that it still looks basically the same as it did like 22 years ago when I first started playing it is crazy to me, but I love it. Neopets had some of the best games. Cheat and Meepit Juice Break were my favorites. (I was SO good at Cheat.)
Also the Wheel of Monotony isn't broken, it just runs for a looooong time. lol I don't know that I've ever had it up long enough to see it stop.

DDoS attacks are common and not related to how secure the site is. It's just a bunch of attempts to access the site at the same time. It's too much traffic for the site and forces it to go down temporarily. It's a little bit like local kids ringing your doorbell as a prank so many times that you just put on headphones and stop answering the door for anyone.

I freaking LOVED Neopets when I was younger. I'm from 1990 so I was around 8 or 9 when Neopets was new. So I played it almost from the start for a couple of years. I was a pro at some of these minigames haha. The fact that this relic is still around is so funny. It's a bit like Habbo Hotel. Still playable but so different compared to how it started out.

Doesn't seem to have changed much aside sort of fixing the flash. Although the first wheel is the Wheel of Monotony, which, according to the wiki can run up to 24 hours before stopping.

I used to always play this and all the other games that were back then like Free Realms, Wizard 101, Grand Fantasia, Pirates 101, Kitsu Sage, VMTV, etc. OMG does anyone even remember VMTV or know what that was lmao. I used to live for that game and hated when it was shut down.

I never played Neopets, but this unlocked a repressed memory of playing Gaia Online. I feel like I'd get a computer virus if I just went to Gaia Online today.
My favorite Neopet species were Moehogs. Not the most popular but my faerie Moehog was my pride and joy. But I forgot my account info and she’s gone forever D; I was able to get into my side account though! I wish the games worked!! Meerca Chase, Volcano Run, and Petpet Plunge were my favorites.
So many memories, I used to play when I was a kid too. I had an schedule to do everyday like get the free egg, spin the wheels... I don't remember everything but I used to get the free stuff everyday Lol and play the mini games too.
Mobile games nowadays is all the same just have different skins. Like you can donwload a interior design game but you have to play candy crush gameplay to gain coins. And all games have loot box, diamonds, hearts, stars so many money types.

I used to love Neopets! But also there was this adventuretime game were I think it was Finn would jump so high he’d go flying through clouds and above rainbows and eventually you’d fall but I used to be able to go so far! It was so addictive ❤😅

I still have the PlayStation 2 Neopets Dark Fairy game. I like the Hissi, Kio, and Shoyru. I got banned because of one player I was new to the internet back then and did not know about all the scams. They blamed me not the real scammer.
Gosh there was this website i dont remember the name but it had thousands of mini games you could play. It was awesome.
The company that just bought Neopets heartlessly shut down the smaller studio (JumpStart, which did have a sh1tty director) that owned it; with the studio we lost one of it's most loved games, even if it was a 10 year old glitchy one, it was the probably the best game (SoD) of that movie franchise (Httyd) ever made, which has been part of the childhood of many...
[some remakes/offline copies are being made, but we still lost all our progress and it will take time for those new games to come out..]

I've been playing Neopets consistently for 2 years (using my accounts from the early 2000s). I knew as soon as I saw your name and your pet's name that you were gonna get frozen. So congrats on getting frozen! Neoshaniceshanice is forever locked on a dead account 🤣 The other pet was deleted.

Kid me had around 5 alt accounts on Neopets. I even taught myself html for a club page I had on there. I had to keep the logins in a notebook and it got tossed during a move. If it ever does get fixed I may need to see if I can still login on my main account.
