This is how you write a dark hero/anti-hero. Behind all of their violence, their rage, their lust for vengeance, you get little but powerful glimpses of the humanity that they thought they lost a long time ago. Like when Batman comforts a dying child, or Spawn in this scene. At the end of it all, they are just deeply troubled and flawed people looking for redemption. It is little acts of humanity like this that show them at their most heroic.
Agreed or like whenever the punisher talks to karen page like he actually shows humanity and emotion same when he is in a scene with amy and i.m talking about the punisher Netflix show not comics or animated shows
I love spawns monologue at the end of MK11. It sums his character up well. "I am beyond redemption. But that doesn't mean I can't do a little good." The irony is he withholds himself from redemption because he feels he doesn't deserve it. When in actuality he does considering he saves and protects humanity
Nowadays the term edgy has become such an ugly and destructive word that allows for far too many people to judge a book by the cover. So many write Spawn off as an edgelord but fail to realize there's more to him than his appearance or his brutality.

"The Sad Man......" And there I go, eyes get watery. I can't watch this scene without getting a little choked up. Just a truly wonderful scene that's filled with emotion, and indicative of the overall quality of the series.
