You should react to "Crazy Pictures Poesi för Fiskar". All their videos are top notch production.
It's really fun rewatching all these old comedy clips with you dude :D
I am an immigrant. I moved to Stockholm from Scania. It is my impression that the natives don’t stand at all in escalators. They move quickly on the right side and even more quickly on the left. If you move too slowly, they will call you ”gubbjävel”. I don’t know the proper English translation since I am essentially kind of a peasant.
As a Swedish non-stockholmare, I can confirm that this is an accurate depiction of stockholmare.
@furulund the fact that he thinks people outside of Stockholm are farmers is hilarious. It's maga level intelligence. Or flat earthers😂
as a non Stockholmare you know Stockholm isn't the only city right and you also know that everyone that doesn't live in a city is a farmer right.....if you don't know this you are the dumbest person I've ever met and I've met some dumb people@@ChicagoYoureOut
A short film that makes fun of the Brats is POESI FÖR FISKAR - Vaskduellen, may be worth a watch
No no no no never stand on the left side!!! (Lived here all my life)
Yeah, honestly. I'm from Dalarna, I was a bit surprised at the politeness in Stockholm when I went there to study. Don't stand on left side(this isn't needed where I'm from). And also at the store, when a new lane opens up at the store the ones who has qued the longest get to choose first if they take the newly opened lane, this one I really liked. This isn't the norm in Dalarna.
The part I found accurate was the part where he said "you dont want to take focus away from yourself". Alot of people in Stockholm is mostly interested in themselves.
I was born in Stockholm moved 20 years ago.
This is kinda true
Never seen this group before
Must watch some more of them
In stockholm you have to stand on the side of the escalators, so others can run past.
While in southern sweden we stand a little bit all over, had a friend from stockholm on visit, she got shocked, that people could stand like that XD
I'm from Lund (southern part of Sweden). This is really good and soo true! Stockholm is beautiful- but the people, not so much :)
There is also a mentality that everything in the world surrounds around Stockholm. I've gotten questions from Stockholm-people that asked me if I'm also here on vacation (in my own city - should be obvious by dialect), like there can't be anyone living there normally.
I walk very slow in the central train/subwaystation and stand on the wrong side on the escalator when i'm in Stockholm. Very funny to see how frustrated people gets! 😁
Im from outside Stockhom at least 3 generations, (In fathers side I have been in Stockhom greater area longer than there are records)
I would say it s really true for people who have moved to Stockholm. It is like in their mind they are the gratest in the world just because they were able to leave the hole they were born in, so they look down on people still living outside Stockholm. We who have lived here for generations think they are just as abgnosius as other guys.
I somewhat agree, but I've seen this comment countless of times and also been to Stockholm quite a few times. I think that's just a mentality that some can't swallow the fact that they might be like that themselves. Lack of perspective and looking down on people not belonging to the group (not that long ago people referred to people outside of Stockholm as "bönder"). It's like that for every big city in other countries as well.
Hysterical. Tinsy bit unfair, but to be true yes some ppl are exactly like that. Need to see the one I've missed about GGöteborg, because as me being a resident of Stockholm I have so many stereotypes of them 🤣🤣🤣😜
These reaction of yours are wonderful, and I think it's very sharp of you to appriciate the jocularity in foreign languages as Swedish. Freudian Slip is not an easy bundle in any language, but both you and them nails it. Every time. Thanks!
I'm from the southern part of the greater stockholm area and can say confirm that there are people like this but it's a stereotype of kids from some of the rich areas of town. I bet the same kind of people exist in other cities to but I've never seen people like this outside of Stockholm
You find the "real people of Stockholm" in the suburbs, not in the city center. It's kinder here. My thoughts.
Then also all capital city's in the world, have a similar reputation/problem of being regarded as "bad". It's the same problem as some people from Stockholm looking down on people outside Stockholm. I'll guess basically it's a lack of knowledge/understanding.
Another example - tourist coming to Sweden - really enjoy Stockholm AND the rest of the country! - How is that possible?
And Stockholm is not a big city - Cairo, Tokyo, Beijing, Mexico City, New York, Paris, London are big cities. Stockholm is big small city, it's all the suburbs that makes Stockholm the rather big size.
The video is really funny! 😂
Kindly
Thomas Ridger, in the Stockholm suburb Farsta (at least five generations here)
Do more FSP reactions! They're so great. 🤣 'Norrlandskursen' is great too.
This applies to people who have moved to Stockholm from rural provinces, especially those pursuing a career.
I like your personality and would love to see you watch and react to clips, but can you do something about that video stretch? Everything else looks top tier!
It's spot on😂
I think you should have a look at Crazy Pictures "Poesi för Fiskar" could be some interesting reactions.
Only Stockholm personality situation I was in was in bed on a cruise, screwdeling with my lover, and two of her Stockholm friends knocked on the door again and again and again and again, so I opened, just in pants I held by the waist, hinted "We're kinda in the middle of... each other", to which her friends said "But we came here together and the plan was to do things together". I just closed the door. VERY strange. We'd been for ourselves 1 hour for the last six hours. Chill, wtf?
The guy playing the "teacher" have a youtube channel with satire about "men meeting up and ralking in the streat" and playing on stereotypes of "not big city people." The sketches are called "Torghumor" and a strong recommendation if you can get subtitles
You have to stand on the right side on "moving stairs" in Stockholm. You can't block the way. And it is the accent that makes them sound as they believe they are superior. People are the same all over our country.
It is spot on!
You should watch either the one with the politician being caught cheating or the gameshow one 😂😂
It's a enhanced version of certain Stockholm steriotype i partly grew up in Stockholm
It's both true and wrong, as with most large or largish cities or financial hubs, there are some people like that. But the thing is that the rest of Stockholmers hate those people too!
The accents may seem arrogant to outsiders, but it is what it is, we talk like that, more or less.
One could easilly make a dozen of versions of the clip for different parts of the city, like upper class Danderyd and Lidingö, Brats in Östermalm, Business people in Norrmalm, Hipsters in Södermalm, Working class who has left Södermalm since they cannot afford it or don't like it any more and lives side by side with immigrants in some run down suburbs.
And then the subcultures. Punks, Skins, Raggare, Skaters, Football Hooligans, and various kinds of Nerds.
One thing is that in general, people in Stockholm love other cities, while it's not uncommon for people in other cities to hate Stockholm
Mert, I think you should invest in new lightning. You look a bit sick with this very white lightning you use. Other than that, thanks for some good reactions in this and your other channels.
100% Correct
That's how they are, they just don't understand it themselves 🤣
I have lived both in the Gothenburg and Stockholm areas and I must say that there is more than a small amount of truth to these characterisations. There is a completely different attitude towards people like me, coming from the countryside.
I use to say Göteborg is ”a large little town” where people are open, chatty and friendly to outsiders. Stockholm is like ”a small large city” where you need to hide any sign of not being from within the city gates (i.e. ”tullarna”).
However, the true Stockholmers are equally nice and just as welcoming as Gothenburgers. I knew a guy living in the old city (”gamla stan”) who made fun of haughty people bragging about living in Stockholm. When they started talking bad about people who didn't live in Stockholm, he replied that he "had a summer house closer to the center" (in the Söder district) than their permanent residence.😂
The thing is, and I can't understand why (I live in the Sthlm area and people are of course on different places on the nice spectrum here as well), but in Göteborg I have been met with such unpolite behaviour just for answering their question on where I am from. They seem to feel they are better than us and can't/won't hide their contempt. Judging you just för not being from the 'right place'. Hard to understand but I don't like that kind of toxic behaviour. Of course some are friendly too, but I've never met this hostility anywhere else in Sweden and not felt that people here do this to people from other places.
@@GuinevereKnightyou can't understand why you live in the Sthlm area? Neither do I of course, but I'm also from Gothenburg 😉.
@@loris-bismar Oh, I know. It's far away from Göteborg. 😉 I don't understand the chip on some göteborgares shoulders though. Friendly banter is fine, hostility not so much. But it"s good that we are happy with the place where we live.
@@GuinevereKnight yeah, some take it way too serious and some who don't take it serious doesn't have that "glimt i ögat" and will get perceived as serious and some are like me who doesn't take anything serious and have the "glimt"
@@loris-bismar Haha, glimt i ögat and not taking things (too) serous sounds good! That's the kind of people I like. Banter, kindness and lots of laughs! That's a plus wherever you are. 😄
As a Stockholmer I can identify with this behaviour.
Peoples stereotypes about Stockholm are always based on the rich areas in the north. When people make fun of a stereotype of the south or the outer suburbs, it's always specifically about those areas and never represents Stockholm as a whole the way stereotypes about Östermalm, Lidingö, Täby etc. do. This skit is better about this than usual though, at least there weren't any brats.
Also, I'm a bit surprised about the standing on the left on the escalator thing, I feel that's mostly a stereotype about rural people who can't handle the big city
Jag är ifrån en ort i Skaraborg och försöker fortfarande räkna ut hur rulltrappor kan vara så svåra för folk. 😂
Facts, Gothenburg ftw!
Ha ha really funny stereotype comedy. I think you would love to come to Sweden and observe 😁
Please react to "Radikala feministkvällar" by Freudian Slip Production !!
I haven't experienced this in Stockholm, but it's probably true to some extent. My theory is they live a really stressed and competitive life compared to the average swede which makes them think they are better.
Correct information, just like the Gothenburg version!
One of their most funny and intelligent clip is ”Corona wars” (Coronakriget) also the game show one is brilliant
I could recommend more from nilecity, if there is someone who made an translation of it. Morran och Tobias is also funny.
I worked a themepark in sweden, many work there and there is employee dorms, i lived in a little place there with around 5 tiny rooms, one toilet and a small kitchen. One guy from stockholm randomly on his break came to our living area (he knew no one there) and shaved in our kitchen bleeding all over the place, there was a toilet but he said he didn't know (didn't know anyone so that makes sense), he had to clean up but everyone including bosses were just shocked. He moved on like nothing happend, he is probably some of the worst Stockholm has produced and i know many reasonable people frol. There but i guess its a little the stereotypes around self obsessed new yorkers on wallstreet or the posh londoners.
Freudian slip are the best :)
Aaah, rom hajar ju inte varom gafflar om asså. Så enkelt ere... Tror rom att re e så där på riktigt eller? Rom e ju helt slut i kålan asså 😄
(Jo, jag förstår att det är på skämt, det är tom roligt. Jag försökte bara vara rolig med min kommentar)
Can you PLEASE fix the layout, the video you play is always wider then you intend. Since the issue only occur when you go to full screen(i think) you might not notice it if you don’t go back and check the footage.
I don’t believe this is satire. It’s a documentary.
I can tip you about or recommend you about, the same channel, but ”Too much” a funny reaction on the Me too and with men in the spotlight. A video with them. The same channel.
I think most countries have a similar view of people from the largest city.
Do Axel Båth with Robert Gustavsson. Both of them
If you stand on the right side of the escalator, you should be moved out of the way with any available means. The same if you try get on the subway before people get off. And if you not ready to give up your seat to those needing it (elderly, pregnant, or people with obvious difficulties moving/standing) you're a right prick.
What? The left is the "passing lane" in escalators, no? You're supposed to stand on the right side.
A bit exaggerated of course, but yeah this is what people from Sthlm are like.
No actually what’s accurate is just how people assume people in Stockholm are like.
And react to "Sverigekursen"
Watch “POESI FOR FISKAR - VASKDUELLEN” by crazy pictures
Without a doubt the best one from FS!
czcams.com/video/WW-1GiVWABo/video.html
But it will be different for someone who has not seen the crap our public service produces these days.
Just to help you tl say it right its Stockholms Kursen not skursen
This is comedy!
This is not how it is in Stockholm.
If you act like this here, you will get a beating!
We call people from Stockholm for 08 it's the same as empty in their head.
3:30 That teacher is more or less a typical hipster (with a hint of working class as well).
But not even them are usually that level a-holes, not even here in Stockholm.
We stockholmers always stand on the right side on the escalator. Country people stand however they like and block
Exactly. And it's the people that have moved to STHLM that think they have become posh and act snobby.
This is not satire
I'm from Stockholm and to some extent that's true. Stockholm is so much bigger than Sweden's other cities and there is much more stress here. But there are advantages too, we are more tolerant, let people be as they want. We're much less racist and we don't pretend to be your friend and talk bad about you a second later. If you don't like someone, it shows. 😂 A myth is that we don't like country people, we do, but we see them as cute little cousins who are fun to visit sometimes. If, on the other hand, you move to Stockholm, you are "one of the gang" immediately.
You need to learn Swedish .
I haven’t seen anything from this group, but this is not accurate or funny. People are really helpful and kind, the only thing that annoys people is standing on the wrong side in the escalators or not behaving smoothly in public transport when it’s stressful. I could easily find 20 more things that are more to the point than this (and funnier). I have lived here all my life.
You don't like it, leave.
I have a story that relate to this. I live down south in Sweden. Back when I went to school, I had a mate that moved to my town from Stockholm. One day we decided to walk to my house from school because 2 lessons got canceled. About 4 miles walk (6km). While walking a fair amount of cars passed us as we were walking and waving at us, some being my neighbours or others that I knew that lived along the road. After a while my friend asked me: "Why are all these people waving at us?". I just shrugged and said that they are just being friendly and some of them I know. My friend responded by saying: "Im so used to any form of hand signal from drivers being the middle finger or that they are visible mad for some reason."
To this day this is something that I think about from time to time. Part of me laughs at it, another part just thinks it is a bit sad that this is the experience my friend had living in Stockholm. During this walk we were 13-14 years old.
