How to Super Bounce on Halo 2: The Basics

- *IMPORTANT NOTE*
The bounces in this video only work on 30FPS and NOT on MCC. If you are on Halo 2 Vista you need to put "ogh2" in your game variant name to lock the FPS to 30 for original halo bouncing.

Yea the super bouncing days were fun and there were so many on a lot of levels.
Golden days lol 2005 was a hell of a time. I miss the community never played a game were people want to do so many different things like jumps.
Same here. AirBiscuits and BounceFX immediately pop in my head. There were many more. The clans that made up the community were legendary. I miss it so much but I hope everyone is doing well in life. Whenever time travel is invented I will be permanently living in 2004-2006 lmao
They really did a disservice later Halo games by putting in so many invisible walls. That was by far the best part of Halo, getting places you never should. I always felt so accomplished finding new crazy ways to get out of maps.

the bounce instructions are wonderful, just want to clear up that tickrate and fps are two completely different things. im an original bouncer from 15 years ago.
Super bouncing and being able to talk shit to the other team while "in game" was epic. Beta mails ruined it.
played halo 2 project cartograhpher with u a few years ago, and u told me about this video, now i keep getting it in my recommended every so often lol
Not sure if someone said this but this does work in halo MCC for PC. There’s a tick downloader that you have to run while playing the game and Wala you can bounce again!!!

I was in the Halo 2 Vista (which is the same as rhe MCC port) community and I remember discovering that they are still able to be done but u have to jump from a much higher altitude. I wonder if theres a way to mod the altitude to make it be more like in the Xbox version tho

Anyone that wants to bounce not on an original console. Halo 2 Cartographer on PC has a game mode thats slows the game to 30 frames. This allows superbouncing. Nothing like playing on the original beast but you can bounce.
If you do xb1 anyway in hell I could have a sit down on game with you I'm back after a 10 year break and I'm dying to re visit glitches. Super jumping out of maps ect. Used to spend over 8 hours a day doing just exploits and its easiest for me to learn while doing would you have any interest in helping a day 1 halo fan out ?
I will forever hold a grudge against 343 for using the PC port of Halo 2 which made superbouncing too much of a hassle. Messing around on the maps was a pretty big part of Halo 2.
I was so disappointed. Just one more way MCC pissed me off lol

I miss the super bounce days in h2 matchmaking and custom games with a bunch of online friends exploring deep into places you’ve never seen or thought possible to get to in levels you’ve played 1000’s before that.

Absolutely. You'd get in matchmaker and people would stop what they were doing to show each other super bounces and sword flying.

If you're on PC try Project Cartographer, though it uses the PC port you can make a game mode called OGH2 and it will let you bounce on all the maps

i wonder if someone will ever figure out how to super bounce on 60 fps
Well it's not a matter of how... being on 60fps means to activate a super bounce you need more momentum... superbouncing is basically a graphic clip glitch but on 60fps it's impossible in the way it is done on on 30fps. To achieve a superbounce on 60fps requires you required to be falling roughly 60-70 percent of halo 2s max falling speed where on 30fps it is much less because the window to activate is larger because the game registers slower. On 60fps it is still possible but to reach faster falling speed you need to fall from higher up if you understand what I mean. While superjumping is possible it is not necessarily harder it is just more difficult to use because the places superjumping is utilized the most it cannot be done. The remaining spots in can be utilized in a practical way are much less. Making superjumping less practical in combat and less usefull. That being said super jumping would still be possible even if the game ran on 1000fps but the timing extremely precise almost downright perfect. Making superjumping extremely inconsistent unless you have superhuman timing.

Project Cartographer, a Halo 2: Vista community ran service/client that adds a bunch of improvements and fixes to the original Halo 2: Vista experience. It's how he's bouncing on PC, notice how the gametype name contains the string "OGH2" this is how you enable 30-tick for that gametype.
There’s a couple you can do on the XBOX 1 but it’s because of frame rate. The only ones you can do are the ones that are real high drops.
@@yoehonjohn4832 with one of the updates, you can change your gravity to 300% and do the original Lockout jump.
