a lot of motorcyclists talk about doing a trip like this, but very few actually do it......Kudos Ben King!
Agreed!
Yeah I've always wanted to ride across Iraq, Iran and syria. Biking mecca apparently😂
Naive, underprepared and slightly un-hinged could be applied to this guy but I guess if you analyse every pitfall you would never accomplish an adventure like this. Hope he makes it back safely.
Great video this lad has got so much enthusiasm. I'm an expat living in Australia and have just rode across the country on my CRF250 rally. The bike went well, not quite as far s Ben but did over 6000 KM, really enjoyed it
Wow - now that’s what I call a ride! Did you do it all on the standard seat?
TheMissendenFlyer thanks for the reply, yes I was on the standard seat, rode between 6 and 10 hours a day, found the seat ok but at the end of the longer days I was glad to get off !! The bike went fine but when I got home I upgrade to a GS 750 f after watching you're review, really pleased with it. I've started posting some short Clips of my trip on my channel, so if you have time take a look, not as professional as yours but it's a start, really enjoy you're channel and have watched all you're videos, cheers, steve
I
I still can't get over Ben's amazing enthusiasm, it's as if he can't wait to get the interview over with so he can hop on his bike and get back out there.
Amazing Ben! Truly look forward to the next video. Thank You @The Missenden Flyer
You're welcome....
I could listen to him all day. He’s unusual but in the most brilliant way. Can’t wait for episode 3.
I agree - stay tuned Mark!
I don't think I've ever had 15 minutes go by so quickly, great chat!
Glad you enjoyed it Rutger...more to come soon!
Just watched this... as excellent as part one!. I think that underlying Ben's enthusiasm and 'apparent ' naivety is one smart and resilient young man, and a very nice person to boot!. Great stuff! Steve
100% agreed...
This interview is just getting better, I love it!
Cheers Peter!
This lad is so interesting to listen to keep up the good work TMF
Ben is a real adventurer - he's just soaking up new experiences at every turn and his obvious delight at each new discovery is infectious. If he ever was naïve, I reckon he's considerably less so after 25k miles-worth of on-the-job learning with lots more yet to come. I could listen to - and would thoroughly enjoy - these ramblings for hours. Good luck, Ben, and thanks for this series of interviews, TMF. 👍
15 minutes???? He was just getting warmed up!
What an amazing guy could listen to him all day. . His own youtube vids are a must watch. Can't wait for the 3rd instalment. Good on you for getting this interview 👍👍👍
Cheers Gary - stay tuned for the third and final instalment soon!
Brilliant. I'm proud of Ben he's showing the world that it's not such a dangerous place and that we are all very similar all just trying to get on in life. The hospitality he as encountered on this adventure has been incredible. He is very lucky to be experiencing something most of us can only dream of. Good luck to you Ben stay safe and enjoy every minute.
OK, l’ll say it; Ben’s a cracking bold lad and l enjoy listening to him and I admire his hutzpah and wish him well. BUT he is rolling the dice.
In July of last year, an American couple, cycling round the world, according to their blog, experienced many negative and dangerous encounters. Their trip ended in Tajikistan, when they were mown down, along with 2 other European cyclists, by a car full of jihadis, who then stabbed them all to death.
It’s barely a month since those 2 young Scandinavian women backpackers, in Morocco, were raped and beheaded. The decapitation, where one rapist/murderer stands on the poor woman’s head whilst his mate saws away was broadcast on the internet. Meanwhile, the poor girl was calling for her Mother. Horrible, horrible stuff.
So please; spare me the lame comments on how nice the world really is.
@@valaudae1809 worst things happen in London everyday but I bet you go there no one is saying don't go to London I'm there 3 times a week with my job...people getting murdered every day. The worlds a dangerous place of course it is but let's not let them win 99% of the world's population just want to enjoy what they have rice or poor.
I was just thinking , wouldn’t it be great if Honda heard about Bens Adventures and offered to Sponsor him - and wouldn’t it be great if the BBC got on board and made a mini - documentary following his travels - but then I thought , no it wouldn’t because That would spoil the whole thing - leave it Exactly as it is 👍🏻
Can’t wait for part 3, this guy is awesome! Are you going to have him back after he completes the next legs of his trip?
I certainly intend too!!
Top man 👍
This guy is fantastic, I couldn't pull away from the video. He is living life to the fullest
Hats off to Ben! Brilliant, what a nice guy👍🏼👍🏼
Oh, my gosh, please make these longer. Ben King is a hoot! I remember him talking about stuff he should not have on Face Book. I doubt He remembers, but I messaged him and like dude, you really should not put that up there. He was kind and replied taking that post down. What a great guy.
Thank you for posting. Great video. He is so open about his adventures. The great, the good, the bad and the ugly. I still think he is a bit subdued. :)
:0)
Ben is such fun to listen to, he will have a great career as a journalist if he can put his sense of adventure, wonder and enthusiasm into print, great interviewer as well, looking forward to the next instalment :-)
Thanks Nick - stay tuned - coming soon!
Interesting info👌🏽
The subtitles/captions can't keep up with Ben. hahahaha
Compulsive stuff, TMF, love it... mind you I reckon a little wild camping with Ben around that Turkish coast would be the perfect trip to assuage those who reckon you should. Go on, do it. ;)
Good stuff..Ben's tank seal story sounds as lucky as mondo enduro's wheel bearing one...wonder if Austin remembers?!.... You definitely need some good luck and karma on a trip like this...
Fantastic, what a lucky lad... I say lucky... he did this on his own back, that isn't luck, that is hard graft and a solid drive to achieve a goal! :-)
100% agree.....
He’s got some rattle , great to hear his adventures in detail , and you have gave him the time
Geez that beep was loud! Not cool with headphones on! Great yarn though...
He should tour with Million Dollar Bogan
What a top bloke. Wish him all the best for the rest of his trip.
Brilliant.
The signal lost beep almost gave me a heart attack, please don't do that again :)
When can we expect part three
Any day now! Stay tuned....
Hats off to the fella. Great story to tell.
Great adventures Ben, long live the King, long live the British eccentrics! 👍👍👍
This guys head is brighter than my future!
A true adventurer.
That's what I call adventure. BBC should do a documentary on this lad.
Just watched his Videos on his CZcams Channel they are absolutely brilliant and entertaining viewing."
...told you they were good....
I felt your pain Andy, however Respect to Ben for what he’s accomplished
Wolves and minefield!!!! Crazy fun hearing his story!
Cmon´ upload next one :o) It´s too interesting to stop listening... :o)
Stay tuned!
I can't help but see the pitfalls, meanwhile he's just doing it. Hat's off mate.
Main trip is on standby and his first plan is out of the window 😊😊😊😊
Cliffhanger... will be waiting for more 👍🏻
Blimey..............
I’m exhausted listening to him........well done
More to come - stay tuned!
Before Teapotone set off he did a presentation at HU meeting & I thought the same as you. But that said he had a bit of a hiccup & had to set off again but do you know what he learnt from his mistakes and after completing his ATWT has gone on to become an established motorcycle traveller. Just as Ben will I am sure.
...and I had the pleasure of riding with him in Spain last week! (TP1, not Ben)....
Ben is bloody AWESOME,the enthusiasm this young lad has blows me away,I can just imagine him telling his stories to his grandchildren with the same glint in his eyes. Don't understand the thumbs down MF do you?
....it’s the internet!
Absolutely admire the sense of adventure but as a parent if my son's tried as part of that adventure to enter a known war zone, there are so many reasons why that is a step to far. You can imagine the comments from the news headlines now if it went pear shape.
Cool.
The audio is so low on this video then you have a "signal lost" bit that made me jump out my f*cking skin it was so loud.
:0)
Hope he’s going to write a book!
So do I! (I did suggest it...)
excellent ... I hope you many hours of footage of Ben's ramblings .. they are very enjoyable to watch ...
More to come Graham - stay tuned!
@@TheMissendenFlyer You keep them coming and I'll watch them :)
That vice on your work bench needs some attention!
You’re not the first to mention that - I’m feeling rather ashamed now!
That boy can chat! 😂👍
He sure can! Interesting stuff though I thought....stay tuned for one more to come...
@@TheMissendenFlyer Agreed. What a fantastic experience. I'm sure he learned more on that trip than the equivalent time in school. Looking forward to part 3! Thanks TMF👍
Noooo! You can't leave it there!
Don't worry - episode 3 is on it's way soon!
You couldn’t get a word in lol . Is he drinking too many red bulls ..??
Was that a staged technical issue so you could put your coat on 😄😊
Cynic!! But a useful break I agree!!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer 😄👍🏼
I love love love eccentric people
Yeah me too - they're what makes the world a better place...
TheMissendenFlyer absolutely
I think he is tripping out you need to tie his arms behind his back 😱
This is a bit like George Dawes meets Tim Nice but Dim.
I’m going to have to google George Dawes...
@@TheMissendenFlyer Swap out the flying suit for a pink Romper Suit and your rockin' ;-) just playin'
I love his enthusiasm and I could listen for hours BUT if you try and and get into countries like Syria at the moment I would run out of sympathy if it all went fatally wrong !
OK, l’ll say it. Ben’s a cracking, bold lad and l admire his hutzpah and wish him well. BUT he is rolling the dice.

Their trip ended in Tajikistan when they were mown down, along with 2 other European cyclists, by a car full of jihadis, who then stabbed them all to death.
It’s barely a month since those 2 young Scandinavian women were raped and beheaded. The decapitation, all filmed and put on CZcams, saw one Islamist keep his foot on the poor girl’s head while his mate saws away. All the while she is plaintively calling for her Mother. Horrible, horrible stuff.
So please, spare me the super lame comments on how nice the world really is.
No one is not saying there is not bad stuff out there - but you can choose to help spread a positive or negative message....
TheMissendenFlyer The hapless Scandinavian girls had extensive Facebook entries giving out positivity and peace and love vibes that arose from a lifetime of globalist, one world propaganda that schools and media promote. The American couple kept a detailed Blog. In it they repeatedly described that talk of evil was a social construct and that all people were basically “kind”. When the rubber hit the road, their positivity marked them for death.
V Alaudae You’re cherry picking specific incidents to make faulty generalizations. Tourists still visit America despite the Vegas mass shooting or 9/11. Reasonable cautions should of course be taken at home and abroad, but not traveling the world because of some gruesome crime incidents makes no sense. I’ve travelled to more than 30 countries over the past 40 years and met hundreds who have done the same. The consensus is that those travels and the connections made on them are some of the most rewarding experiences in life. It’s your prerogative to allow fear to cause you to miss out on those experiences, but no need to spread negativity. Lastly...what a wonderful and inspiring interview with a charismatic adventurer; great job TMF!
I can only understand about half of this because of the accents, had to bail...
What accents?
@@TheMissendenFlyer It sure isn't the Queens English, it sounds like 'Cockney' from the east of London. I'm not sure because I have a hard time understanding it. Seriously some of your videos are really hard for me to understand at times, probably nothing can be done about it because it is just how it is.
As long as you don't have aspirations to become a radio announcer life should be fine...lol
