I've been back on a break from this game since getting the F-14... But seeing Hunter put on Mig-29/F-16 demos.... makes me really want to get back into the suffer.
Spoiler Alert: Top tier Air Rb is much worse now. Top tier premium spam is killing it. Sim on the other hand is rather enjoyable. :)
@@jordancourse5102 I can only imagine. For me (and when I convince myself to suffer through it), it's become more about getting those specific planes. Once I do that, I typically take more breaks from the game.

Lovely video as always. I was ok with f4e to pound ground but f16 is another level. Since it has great acc and manuveurability, the most enjoyable cas ever I played.
Hunter, you should add the Osean Ground Forces "we're saved" line after a successful sortie in GRB. You are War Thunder's Trigger.

Right know I think the Mirage 2000D is probably the best CAS option : laser pod with thermals, 2 10 kilometers AS NORD 30L, plus 2 small pathway that are great at killing stationnary or slow moving targets, plus 3-4 other 250KG bombs (a bit better than the 500pounds american bombs).
It can engage reliably enemy SPAA from far away and deal with tanks at closer range after destroying them.
However it does not come with any guns, only 2 magic 2s so it’s pretty weak against plane and mostly useless if engaged by helis such as ka50s and Z19s

Reminder than the F-16 turns best at around 650-700 kph, worth using airbrakes and throttle control to stay around that area instead of full burning constantly. :)
400ish MPH for me. Kick AB off, hit air brake, easily slows down to 400-450 MPH, turn air brake off and it turns like a monster.

I used it in the assault. simply stunning results from a height of 12-14-10km. I think the game will soon add air defense in the likeness of the Buk-M1 or something like that. since f16 can strike from 15 km. I mean the height of 15km above the battlefield
Yeah they definitely need to add Buk-M1 or some other longer range SPAA.
or just add Pantsir-S1, the Buk-m1 missile has a max range of 30km bruh, more range than the air spawn, Pantsir seems more fair

Wonder if it's a bug or accurate that the main cockpit has that gold tint (I think it's for radar reasons) but the smaller back window doesn't. Need to look at photos when I am bored.

I'm curious, do flares/chaff actually help against top tier AA that guide their missiles with just mouse aim? I've always seen hunter use the countermeasure release at times and the only thing i can think of is that chaff would help break hard locks which could mess up the spaa players tracking
Flares, not really. They will help with AA that uses IR missiles though. Chaff is somewhat useful as it can make them drop radar lock on you. If they're tracking you it'll throw off their aim when the chaff forces their lock to focus on it instead of you. Just be sure to wait until the missile is 2/3s of the way to you though or they might be able to reacquire you before the missile goes by.

@@jacob.alwazani The F4 EJ Kai on the winds of change dev server had 500 lbs Jdams but were removed, irl the F4EJ Kai did not use the type of Jdams that were on the dev server but a version it did carry is still in the files which may come soon.
why do you need jdams? They are designated pre lauch, you can't track the target.
@@RodanES EJ kai had an ir guided bomb used against ships. It couldn't lock on to tanks. Also JDAMS are gps guided with target designated before launch they would be useless

This is the best cas on par with the mig27k. I say that because you inly need 2 kills to get the mig. Far to easy to ground and pound with USSR

hunter new rockets from tornato which can be aimed at tanks against ships. there is a video clip on the topic .. if it’s short, then you need two planes, one launches a bullpap on a bullpap, an anti-ship missile is aimed. and when the missile loses its target (against the ship), it itself looks for a target and can take a random tank into sight .. and an ally and a corpse. but if you start from 20 km on the enemy’s respawn, you can kill it. if you are interested, I will send you the name of the heroic, you will immediately catch the essence .. PLAY TEAM MORE INTERESTING.

The thermals is awful on those and there's basic no zoom at all. The regular Mavericks are better.

Hunter, does the F16 CAS GBU's have longer TRACK range than the 5-4kmTRCK range AGM Bombs of the A-7E?
They are less, around 3km track range.

I've made this analogy since i only read the first part but I'll just leave it in
meaning the range in which your Guided bombs/Missile will start to follow your target, think of the Guided Bomb/Missile as dog looking for squirrel(Target), once the squirrel is near enough you release the dog and the dog starts chasing the squirrel
So I’ve tested out the f18 and I’m thinking if I should get the f16 or the f18. The f18 is so slow but it turns really tight

maybe youre too high. they only track ground vehciles within about 2 miles or something like that
@@AstralHeretic look at Hunters video, he drops em from 4 and 6 km and hits...i get hits with AGM's and GBU's ...for example I just had a match where my GBU tracked from 6 km altitude and 13km range and hit....the problem is they often lock and track ground instead of vehichles.

@@AstralHeretic ffs...play the game, the Tunguska i hit with the GBU was on the move so I am asking if something is wrong with the settings or simply the weapon system is flawed in the game and sometimes it will track and sometimes it will not.
@@achtung8913 instead of getting angry you should attempt to read. the gbus don't track moving targets past a certain range. if they sit still like in this video them it will hit but if they move and you arent close enough to fully lock them then it will continue to track the ground. leave your toxic nature for your friends its not needed here when I offer an answer to your questions

I hate what they did with detection system for planes. After some testing yesterday the conclusions are rather sad. From a plane i can see SAMs just fine, just as before. But tanks? Only from low altitude 3-5kms, or i can see them just fine if only a friendly unit on the ground or air have visual on a target.
Today i couldn't see scouted target until i dropped at 4000m altitude. Scounted target, Carl. I dive on a point enemy tries to capture and i can't see enemy unit there. Or target vanish from sight, but lock remains.
Why they did this? To make it easier for tanks? Just today i locked enemy plane at 15km range and launched VT-1 from my crotale at it, i hit that plane at 11400m range. You still can't do cas properly if enemy team has a SAM unit with at least some brains.
I still kill SAMs because i outrange them with GBU-12, but i can't help my team or stop enemy advance because i simply can not see a target. And there is nothing about this change in patchnotes.
This is very poor and objectively stupid decision by Gaijin.
Is GBU-8 Fire(drop?) and Forget? wow it's strong compared to othrer guided bombs!
no that’s just laser guided bomb gameplay. As long as you can get a lock on a target you don’t need to worry about anything

Hey man, could you make a video playing with a JA37, please? I'm not sure whether to research the USA or Sweden planes first, so I would like to know your opinion on which is the best option to research.
The viggen is a decent fighter. The first one is stuck with rb24j which is an aim9j equivalent and the new viggen in game get rb74 which is aim9L equivalent. Sky flash/Aspide is a slightly better aim7e-2 if I recall correctly. New viggen gets lots of countermeasures which is very helpful in current meta. Flight performance is decent but not quite as powerful as new f16 and mig. In short, It’s good but not stellar.

@@Synkle26 hard to say, gripen is definitely the more modern design over f16 and mig29 we have currently but later variants of both would be at parity with a gripen.
