Oh my, I don’t think that’s a good idea on Tommy’s end. He would torture everyone who don’t like Kerns Bread. And that, my friend, would ruin the kids show that Sesame Street has become today, without violence.
I mean, yeah, Cyanide & MajorBrawl, it’d be a good/fun idea. But, It would probably get the two taken off the show immediately. And parents would be thrilled that a loving kids’ show like SS could have full-on violence and even impact their children. And the kids would learn to act this way, too. This could eventually lead the show on a road to downfall. But they are just 2 muppets. I’d honestly like it (if they did) to be that they weren’t violent on the show, but obviously violent in their commercials.

When i think about Kerns bread i think about those braided rugs my mom and her friends crocheted out of strips cut from the bags. They called them "bread bag ties" and my mom made several of them. A couple reasons I think 1. They had to be very short 2. They had to be memorable 3. Wanted to implement some unique puppetry and 4. bc threatening ppl into buying something works wonders...jk but u know lol. I know the wilkins ads were so over the top bc Jim personally hated coffee so he thought of what it’d take for him to drink it
The thing is, the big guy looks like someone who will hurt you. Wilkin’s doesn’t. He looks innocent, wide-eyed and small. So when he gets violent, it’s unexpected, catches you off guard, and Wilkin’s cheery, light voice is the cherry on top. The big guy has small eyes, dark eyes, a big frame, and a deep voice. I’m expecting him to rough up the skinny, kind of weeny guy, so the violence isn’t as shocking. If the roles were reversed, and the skinny guy was the one getting rough with the big guy (you can keep the voices the same) then I’d be more surprised because that’s not what I’d be expecting.
However, the Prime Minister's puppet (used for Fred) isn't set up to laugh or smile the way Wilkins can, whereas the Taminella Grinderfall puppet (used for Tommy) very much is. And while it's not as shocking, it does allow Tommy to have a boisterous energy that Wilkins lacks.

The thing is, the big guy looks like someone who will hurt you. Wilkin’s doesn’t. He looks innocent, wide-eyed and small. So when he gets violent, it’s unexpected, catches you off guard, and Wilkin’s cheery, light voice is the cherry on top.
The big guy has small eyes, dark eyes, a big frame, and a deep voice. I’m expecting him to rough up the skinny, kind of weeny guy, so the violence isn’t as shocking. If the roles were reversed, and the skinny guy was the one getting rough with the big guy (you can keep the voices the same) then I’d be more surprised because that’s not what I’d be expecting.
However, the Prime Minister's puppet (used for Fred) isn't set up to laugh or smile the way Wilkins can, whereas the Taminella Grinderfall puppet (used for Tommy) very much is. And while it's not as shocking, it does allow Tommy to have a boisterous energy that Wilkins lacks.
