I went to a mixed school like this too(in south Africa), the racism is there, u feel it during punishments and suspensions and its mostly the teachers who enforce it.... But when the kids are doing their own thing on the stands and sports fields, it's the Most beautiful thing, no racism at all!!
It's all the old guys and their crap ( old peopl in their 40s ). When you're in grade 8 you are garbage to the older boys, you all suck no matter what race and considered nothing by the older boys and you kind of all just get along cause you have to cause you know the older boys dont give a flying fart about you, will give you sh1t where they can and when, you get through to the top and you've all had a crazy cool znf sometimes harsh journey getting there. No matter whether white, black, rich or poor, nerd or jock you have all taken that journey from the bottom and each have a mutual respect for each other. For instance remember in matric a nerdy black dude, not a popular guy but wasn't disliked in matric had his seat taken by quite a popular grade 11 guy before assembly. Probably half the metrics told the grade 11 go get the eff out of the chair, because that's how it is. Those are the rules.
