Computerized reservations they still have that today only it's more advanced now with online booking and buying your tickets online and maybe even be able to get a mobile ticket even.
@twel603 It sure was! Her and Tritia Toyota were two big local CBS anchors back in the day. mid 70s early 80s. I lived out there and watched them both. Good times in LA.
@MrClassicAds I love this American Airlines Commercial and would like to know if you have commercials aired on KABC-TV Channel 7 or KNBC Channel 4 on June 22, 1977; can you please upload them on CZcams so I can see them for reminiscing?
American Airlines was so obsessed with its DC-10 fleet. American is the airline that has too many DC-10s from 1971 to 2000 more than 60 DC-10 in total. American was no longer interested in his B747 fleet. American liked the DC-10 more than its B747, American's DC-10 is the main aircraft in its fleet. American retired its B747 fleet in 1984 and stayed with its DC-10 fleet. For me, I'm sick and tired of American's DC-10 fleet, I liked the B747 fleet on American Airlines, but when I retired in 1984, American Airlines is no longer the same.
I fly for American currently. There were a few reasons for that choice. The 747 fleet was costly to maintain and rarely was the aircraft at capacity. The airports are also limited in terminal space that can handle the heavies. The 767 has nearly the capacity as the DC10/MD11 but is much more efficient. It's hard to believe that many of the airframes are over 30 years old.
WoW! I was a year old, now im geting old lol! :D "American Airlines forever!"
These were the golden years for american airlines

They failed to mention all the plane crashes and hijackings they had over the years. A lot!
Was that Connie Chung at the end?

Was this commercial made and aired before the '79 crash or after?
What difference does it mean if they were first? What matters is if they do it best.

Raul Matias Casas Zavala DC-10s were easier to manage and maintain than 747s.
