well I was born in 1961, but I remember when we all went from AM to FM. I have so many suggestions. we had a lot of weird songs. I would like to suggest Oliver , Good morning Starshine
COWSILLS, "HAIR". Great tune , as well as was the Movie . Ironically the Fifth Dimension also hitting number one as you said. With "AQUARIUS / LET THE SUNSHINE" was also from the Production of HAIR. As some more hit tunes. Three Dog Night, "EASY TO BE HARD". Oliver, "GOOD MORNING STARSHINE"

Good hippie song from the day I can see Tammy and her sister with flowers in their hair listening too this song while watching the brady bunch lol,,I always thought this was the grateful dead when I was a kid lol !!🎃
They mention the Grateful Dead and Bread in the song, I'm not sure about flowers in our hair but I had really long hair back then, so I guess that's why I liked the song so much.

Ok, here is some info I just found out a few weeks ago...you know I did a deep dive on Dwight Twilley, there is a video here on yt for I'm on Fire, it's a live performance from the early 80's, the channel is alehouse rock, check it out sometime. I was watching and it shows a backup singer, low and behold it's Susan Cowsill. Her brother John is on drums. So, I did some further research and found that they were both part of his band for a few years, and Susan and Dwight were actually in a relationship for a while. Cool story huh!
Was Susan the little girl? She is so cute, especially when she says "and spaghetti, whoop" Interesting, I have 2 Dwight Twilley songs on the channel, "I'm on fire" and "Girls", 2 great songs and very underrated group.
