- There are lots of ways to get a nice edge on vegetable tanned leather like, dremels, slicking agents, edge paint, etc...But this is a basic, simple method I use A LOT. And all you need is water, wax, and something slick with like a wood slicker or a canvas cloth.

I have found if you dye first the dye is able to soak into the leather edge. Once you burnish you seal the edge not allowing the dye to soak in. The Feibings pro dye only need 1-2 quick coats depending on desired color. it drys in a few minutes and and ready to burnish.
I LOVE THE NATURAL COLOR!!! 🧡🧡🧡 It’s absolutely gorgeous. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I always dye the edge before slicking. Seems to work pretty well for me.
THIS IS HUGE. I've been wanting to learn how to do that natural look for a long time! Awesome information!
Great instructions. Thanks
Thanks man! You really saved me from buying expensive finishing mediums and tools. I always prefer the more simplistic approach and try to use only natural stuff and less power tools. So this video checked all the boxes for me
Dude, you have a humble simple way of yourselves. And also have a cool name and emblem! Right on!
Enjoyed the video. Appreciate it. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

OLD LEATHER SMITH here, A Q tip works well, I buy a small brush used 4 ladies make up works very well, a sponge with a small cut 2 match your project will also work, I have used all in the past it just depends on you, I agree I personally like water and Bees wax, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
Hola cómo puedo obtener ese resultado muy lindo su trabajo
Okey👍👍👍
I've tried time and time again to dye my edges like that, but my dye always seems to run out onto the front and back. Will the markers help with that?
The marker definitely helps. I always felt the same way. Those daubers can be messy. it's worth trying out
What type of leather is that? Also do you work with any Chrome tan and how would you get a decent looking edge on something like that?
I have the same question, so if there is anybody who knows the right technique for non vegetable tan leather that would be great
Great video, I can use this. Hey all, what's the best way to cut a segment of beeswax? Heating up a knife just pissed off my wife.
It's very interesting! I want to know which sewing machine you use. What is the sewing machine you use?
This one is a Cobra Class 3 harness stitcher
Does the Montana refillable pen work ok for you, are there any problems as its supposed to be used with a a acrylic. I was concerned that the if using spirit dye could evaporate if its left in the pen.
Montana pen is great! I use black edge coat in mine for edges and it does a great job, great control of amount, and doesn't dry out in pen when not in use.
@@nathanrainwater1657 thanks I've actually just ordered a couple so I can put dye in one and edge paint in the other. I appreciate the reply anyway
Is there a different place where I can get the marker, in the link you provide it says it's unavailable
That’s the only place I know but if you google im sure they’re all over 👍🏻
@@whitandpark I have, but can't seem to find them, maybe it's because I live in Mexico, I guess I'll just have to wait
How do you keep from burning the edge?
Just not sanding it too much. If you hold it on there too long it'll definitely burn so I just do quick touches on the wheel
What type of canvas cloth do you use
I got these ones from District Leather Supply. But you can use any kind of canvas
@@whitandpark thank you Sir very much . I am trying to start making things from leather and have to do everything from hand . Those machines are really expensive. Take care and stay safe my friend!!
@@andreasL4114 I totally agree. Thank you so much for the advice. I appreciate it very much!! Take care and stay safe my friend !!
Why do a lot of guys use saddle soap to burnish edges? Do you not like it? Thanks.
It was useful . Thanks dear .with love from free iran#mahsa_amini
