Here's a Sony cassette recorder form the 1980's. It's a bit grubby and needs new belts in addition to a few general maintenance issues.

What size belts did you use to replace the old ones?
Does this auto stop at rewind
I have one of these, I can't remember if it's this exact model or similar. It's just a voice recorder and only in mono, so it didn't play music in both headphones. But it doesn't work. I think it needs re-capping as well as the usual belt maintenance. I keep forgetting I have it, then I'll find it when looking for something, mean to get it sorted, then forget about it again.
Edit: It's a TCM37V so it is a different model.
Always worth fixing up on a rainy afternoon or something! Yours is a bit newer I think. Maybe voice activated?
