Inspired by the 1988 classic “Red Storm Rising”, command a nuclear submarine in a desperate attempt to prevent “mutually assured destruction” when the Cold War gets hot and WWIII begins.
You will be tasked with intercepting convoys, amphibious landings, insertion missions and battling it out with enemy warships, submarines and aircraft. Thankfully, an arsenal of wire-guided torpedoes, anti-ship and cruise missiles and the occasional SEAL team are on board to keep the Iron Curtain at bay.
I find it quite plausible that at this endgame, the Soviet Union was now scraping the bottom of the barrel and possibly manning one of their last Alfas with a crew that just finished training, after losing 55 submarines that likely had veteran crews that trained for years for this conflict. Their last veteran crews were likely on the Delta IV, going by procedure to prioritize evasion to the best of their ability, while the inexperienced crew that was hastily put onto the Alfa had panicked from the torpedo in the water alert, and quite possibly even jammed their tubes trying to flee.
welp those who where in the alfa are now in there graves
Lore accurate analysis. Good work!
This has to be my favorite gameplay channel. You do an exceptional job role playing the scenarios whether it be iL-2, Cold Waters, UBoat, etc. If ever there was a person who could role play checkers well enough to hold an audiences attention it would be Wolkpack345.
Thank you! I really appreciate it :)
welcome to the pack :)
Well said
I think it's fair to say that after a campaign like this, Commander George Milton is on the fast track to become an Admiral one day.
Another glorious end to a fine series!
Would have expected the Alpha to send a full volley of all torpedos being fired with a decent spread. The Delta making a Snap-Shot and evading makes sense, but the Alpha really should have focused on destroying you.
Yeah I have to admit I was expecting a much tougher fight. Normally this mission is extremely intense. The lack of soviet resistance is kind of baffling you might say :p
@@Wolfpack345 someone should give those commanders astern talking to
@@Wolfpack345 wasn't a feature of this mod that the amount of destroyed ships are tracked in some way and compared to an expected amount of ships for the enemy to have left? perhaps you just destroyed all the possible escorts they could've sent to accompany it?
Gotta say I wised that was a typhoon class sub at the end, but this has never less been a thoroughly enjoyable series.
There was a Typhoon sunk earlier in the series.
Historically, in January 1985, the USSR had only 3 Typhoon class subs operational. 2 others were still under construction. So they are a very rare sub.
@@timonsolus huh I wonder how I missed that?
Never stop these videos, seriously, I NEED THEM to slip into sleep. I don't mean they're boring, nonono, the opposite, but it's the game, the underwater vibe, your awesome (!) method to cut and insert "old video material" - I don't know, I just love to watch them to slide into sleep. I promise next month I'm in your patreon list, got not much money, but this is awesome & actually life support for me these days. Thank you SO much, Wolfpack!
Love to getting asleep at Wolfpack 345 Cold Waters gameplays. That calm voice and dark screen is great.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this
Funnily, I need these videos for running on the treadmill!
Same
Hehe right on time to retry a War on the Sea campaign I guess ^^
Great job with this series, once again!
Heh.. maybe so :p
@@Wolfpack345 but this time IJN on Tokyo Express
Lol he finished both the US and Japanese campaign for War on the Sea. If he did it again, I would like to see a career episode like how he does in his Silent Hunter 3 (Like USS Enterprise in War on the sea)
@@Wolfpack345 Nations of Europe mod? or combine TTE with every other mod and make it CURSED
Only made it to the final mission once. But my mission had me going up against a decent flotilla. 3 Alfas, 1 Sierra and a Delta IV under the northern icecaps. Fired off two torpedoes for the Delta, threw another one into the mix to keep the Sierra busy, fired a MOSS off on a completely different bearing. Shit hit the fan, torpedoes everywhere in the Red flotilla but they had no idea where I was. End result was my three torpedoes hit killing the Delta and Sierra, and all the Alfas sunk by friendly fire. Was a fantastic way to end the campaign
The last mission was like this in the old Red Storm Rising game. Delta IVs in 1984 and Typhoons for later years.
Those subs were a sacrificial offering by the Polit buro to the Lone Wolf Of The Sea, some vengeful deity that destroyed their navy
Great Series. I'd love to see a playthrough with a sub from one of the more minor NATO countries in future? Maybe a British Oberon-Class or similar?
I'm glad you were able to win the war, I was getting very concerned. Prom is scheduled for May ('85) in West Germany and my date's parents said she couldn't go if the war was still on! Great series, thanks!
Curious about a Victor III campaign next, to pay respects to the Akula / Oscar campaign. And maybe find a way to show off all the different weapon types the Russians have for anyone who is curious about the game and mod and might be on the fence. Besides, who doesn’t want to see a nuclear powered speed demon of a torpedo hit a ship or sub?
I have watched the majority of everything you put out. I started playing cold waters and found i am not as good at evasion as you. i see a torp coming my direction and cant get away and end up dying. you are VERY good at this game!! Keep up the good work!
Lovely videos, I am a retired submariner and I appreciate your tactics and know how.....but your last statement of the "cold war was over".....it was over the first time a weapon was fired....it became hot!
Great job, I would think that the captain would get the Medal of Honor for this mission or at least a Navy Cross. Fun to watch. I would have thought the Alpha would have launched everything before it evaded
I like the part with the submarines.
Great series! Sucks we only got to see a Typhoon in passing, though. Was wondering if they were in the game at all.
You´ve been incredible lucky not to cut your towed array.
insane tonnage/ships sunk if you think "this was just one sub that did that"
The delta four is my favorite looking submarine ever
Super impressive kill sheet!
nice end sir, tough match up!!
Thanks!
"Do not worry, Kapitan! Submarine will be good as new when I finish repairs, and we will be back in San Andreas for fresh vodka and caviar before you know it!"
And don't worry about the fire, the flooding will put it out!
Man you love those puns
Alpha class submarine being sunk reminds me, Russian ammbasador, "I am sorry, it seems we have lost anouther submarine, an Alpha class near the Grand Banks area." Not perfect but close to Red October :)
I guess the Soviets *didn't* have any Typhoons.
Technically they did 👀
Great end to the campaign! America and Wolfpack345 have won again.
What's next: a new War on the Sea or Cold Waters in a RN Trafalgar Class?
Either would make me very happy.
You are an excellent person to watch when I have trouble sleeping not in a rude way, I mean your videos are all very engaging and detailed. I think your videos have helped me
Congrats!
Thank you for this series! You found a great formula for keeping it exciting, each episode, right to the end!
In this scenario the number of damaged nuclear reactors on the ocean floor is very troubling🤔
please return to war on the seas. It has been uodated a great deal and is a lot more fun
Didn't know you were playing on difficulty level "Leisure" :-)
What a good end to this series, please continue with a soviet campaign! I'd love to see it all the way through, maybe even playing one of the diesel submarines for additional difficulty?
I will continue my soviet campaign for sure
This episode does not appear to be in the playlist. I was like….. what? Where is the finally? I love your videos.
I fixed that! Thanks for letting me know!
Can't wait for the next series!
I just finished this whole series over 2 days. VERY well done! USS Narwahl should get a Presidential Unit Citation, and the Captain, at least the Navy Cross!
Closing the books on another great career. Well done as always. I look forward to seeing what you pick up next.
What a fantastic series, it's been an absolute joy to watch, Bravo Wolfpack 👏 🐺 well done! 🍻
Loved this series. And now we get to wait in anticipation for what comes next! Love your channel, keep up the great work
As mentioned in the comments, the narration is great ! Well done.
This engagement could determine the fate of the eastern seaboard good luck Wolfpack, the fate of the east of the United States and Canada rest in your hands
Edit: that was truly a baffling ending
Bravo Zulu from the Bosun Locker !
On a scale from 1 to "I see what you did there"; I see what you did there.
Was anticipating this episode since last episode. You eliminated suchs substantial amount of their subs, they couldn't spare another escort for such a valuable asset.
Another great series. I never tire of your submarine series.
Very well done sir. Bravo on the campaign.
Great series - thank you very much for that!
Well done sir! Looking forward to what comes next to follow up this great series!
Great series! Thanks so much for all the awesome videos!
55 Subs! Congratulations sir, you won the war all by yourself :P
A "baffling" end.. I see what you did there 👀😂. Enjoyable series Wolf.
Great series
Lovely series. Had a great time watching this.
Good series Wolfe.
Always enjoyable to watch - ty
Nicely done. Soviet and or ballistic again when?
Fantastic conclusion to the campaign.
When you started this campaign... I had never played this game. Now, I've beaten all 3 campaigns on the hardest realism settings. My last mission of the 2000's campaign was way more exciting. I had 4 subs and they unleashed a TON of torpedoes on my I evaded them and sent 5 torpedoes off in their general direction, in a spread(homing)... it didn't end well for them.
sad that it is over!
GG Wolfpack
Thank you for an excellent series. Looking forward to more of the same :)
Great end to the series! I wonder what the next series will be🧐
Maybe a Typhoon class series 😉
congrats on making it to the end of the campaign
My personal prediction wit our submarine wit only 6 torpedo WS that gigantic Russian submarine is we are fu##.
Or maybe not
Another great series.
It was a Delta IV for me too... I was hoping for a Typhoon, but I sank it either way
Awesome series and a fun campaign!
Excellent series comrade.
This was a great enjoying campaign! I grew up through those years. And to think about how this could of been RL a few times through the years. Even today seeing it could be Chinese subs not the Russian federation!
Awesome Series! Thanks
I've tried this mod so many times, but die in the first couple missions. It loves throwing me directly in the path of surface fleets and Wolfpacks, who then just absolutely spam torps at me. I can sometimes avoid the torps by knuckling constantly while dropping countermeasures, but a lot of the times the enemy torps just don't care and come strait for me anyway, usually resulting in me getting a few of them but dying in the process.
Great series wolfpack. I've been watching for awhile now and regardless of what happens in each video the quality is definitely getting better every series. I also like this one ended as you staying a silent killer right up till the end. Although I'm not sure what is up with Russian subs acting like torps are made of gold or something. I remember the loaf series and you were being absolutely saturated with torps by the AI.
I think that dot mod models the warhead power lower than the actual value of 650 lbs for the Mark 48 torpedo. You can look in the weapons file for the Mk 48's warhead strength and compare it to published values for that torpedo.
Awesome series. Thanks Wolfpack! These videos really are great. SH3 again soon? haha. maybe do a silly series where u take a type 21, mod it to start in 1941 or something and do some daring missions like sneaking all the way into New York and wreck the place with homing torpedo's and a boat that can really move underwater haha! cheers and thanks again.
“I feel the need…the need for towed array speed…” -Marlin and Grouper
Excellent !!!!
Congrats and ty for this series. I love ur videos. God bless u and all including all the people in and from the Ukrainian 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦 love from 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Loved this series. Convinced you're cheating ;) Dot Mod kicks my ass... Tried the NATO campaign with the Trafalgar and just got smashed. Same with the LA. Impressed with your patience to wait for them to turn away and how you avoid using the MOSS.
I hate the trafalgar torpedo! Wires never stick
Another great series! Love your erudition and skills. Will you continue with a USSR Whiskey campaign or start some new USSR campaign? Also i would love to see an IL-2 campaing with a FW-190. Is that possible?
Good to see that you made it through in one piece Wolfpack! It was a well fought victory, though I do feel that this campaign was too easy for someone as skilled as you. Regardless, impressive work boss!
I look forward to seeing what comes next!
Very good mission great work. Whats next WW1 flying?
Yeeeeee haa MERICA baby lol just think there's a alternate universe where this happened lol
Wonders how decorated he was your captain?
He has gold teeth, spiderman face paint, and a pinky ring for decorations.
Pretty decorated! I forgot the exact rundown of medals. I can look when I get to my pc
His uniform is covered with them.
Nice pun.
as a "Final Boss" that is one big boomer
Surface ship playthought next?:P
Good show!
Wolf what is the soundtrack name of this videos intro? Thank you
Like video
GG
Great gameplay and video's, I just have 1 tiny thing this Episode 18 is not in the play list, would be nice if its put in there with the others for easier access for everyone :)
Any chance you could give a detailed tutorial on how to install these mods? I don’t know where to get them and I don’t know how to install them, if I get them. If you could help, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I still like your videos, and I’m glad you’re posting them. Thanks
If you do an other serie on this game you should try with old sub (like the urss one you started some month ago), because this serie with the narwal looking easy
Is the music in the beginning from the old Dangerous Waters game?
Nicely done sir, I look forward to you next adventures.
One question about the game, having completed a mission, it it possible to go 'off-script' and maybe patrol into enemy waters seeking targets of opportunity? (ok, two questions) Are enemy losses reflected in later missions, that is to say, do they have a finite fleet?
Many thanks for all the entertainment, I think you should have been promoted to Admiral by now!
respect and Pax vobis.
What is a purpose of a cable that comes from behind of sub?
It's the towed sonar array-much more sensitive than the hull sensors and covers the blind spot behind the sub.
What mods are you using and where do you find them? I'm eager to try it out and hopefully replicate the fun and experience you've had with this game
