the that the umibozu/the wraiths being a former human makes there story really really sad just imagin being the only human being left in the world your body being heavily mutated beyond reconizing it as human and then you find this strange creature that reminds you of a human you probably want to keep it to not be alone anymore

Also after for example apples are ripe they fall from the apple tree. As for how they got to where they are in the games there is a possibility that we are actually raiding some random creatures food storage.
The one problem with your argument is that there are many other food items such as meats and sweets that are similarly in perfect condition

My theory is the the Oxygen levels of Earth decresed rapidly through some cause, and it made all the creatures evolve into forms that consume less oxygen, either in the way of being small, fusing with plants, or both. I believe that the Pikmin are what's left of humans, and the reason they listen to the captains is because they look somewhat human
That makes a lot of sense we would totally make genetically modified versions of our species specifically for this
You should not overlook a specific detail shown in the Prologue: Olimar has crashed there and his ship is destroyed...but the way he talks about the Pikmin seems to be closer to how when he FIRST DISCOVERED THEM.
It might just be me, but this feels like a retcon, an alternate timeline for everything we've known. This would explain how things seem to have been "reset" to a time shortly after the humans disappearance/perishing. Almost like they vanished in a flash.
To be honest, I am not sure if they even remember all the "original" story beats they hinted at in the first few Pikmin games and wanted a clean start. Either way, I am hyped for the game and the Umibozu theory still holds a very special place in my fanon heart.
Just so you know pikmin 4 goes for after the bad ending of pikmin 1 that’s why we see the water wraith that should appear in pikmin 2 not 4

Pikmin 4 likely takes place in between 2 and 3. There is a lot of evidence to suggests this but I’ll keep it brief:
Pikmin 4 happens right after Olimar crashes in “Pikmin 1” except in this universe, Pikmin 1 is replaced with Olimar’s mission making Pikmin 1 not canon and the mission the canon. In the missions, Olimar ends up staying behind for Moss and gets turned into a leafling which is the “bad ending” route from Pikmin 1 reworked.
In Olimar’s notes, he mentions how he had a dream that his company went into debt, but says that it never happened before. This suggests the event of pikmin 2 didn’t happen.. yet.
Finally, you encounter Koppaits later on that mention how their planet will soon go into a food crisis bc of the growing rate of people. This implies that the events of pikmin 3, AKA the main Koppaits (alph, brittany, and charlie) searching for food didn’t happen yet bc the planet wasn’t YET in crisis.
The reason the house isn’t overgrown is because Pikmin 4 happens millions of years earlier. And the reason the continents become “Pangea” is because the captains have to travel light years to get to PNF 404 which messes with time.
So, the final timeline is:
Pikmin 1 “Bad Ending” reworked (Olimar’s Mission in Pik4)
Pikmin 4
Pikmin 2
Pikmin 3
I agree that humans were wiped out but in the Pikmin 3 if you wait a little while you can hear a sheep so maybe not all animals were wiped out.
First of all, if all the treasures are just pieces of the "umibozu" than why would the captains still be able to turn it into juice? Though the glitter wraith could change its chemical composition(as used in its attacks during its fight) doesn't mean it could maintain the shapes forever, plus each extension of itself needed that weird cube to control it(which could have also been in the enemies but smaller), otherwise it would collapse back into a golden droplet. Not to mention if it could control its chemical composition and reaction, than it would likely not be able to be juiced in the first place. Also what says those fruits arn't naturally grown and dropped off its original plant(even if the growth seasons are totally off)?
Second, how would a radioactive somehow sentient goo learn everything about the human race? The house is awefully well maintained for a timeline without people, and there is likely something going on with it relative to the plot, but i doupt the wraith could take the shape of, and maintain the shape of AN ENTIRE HOUSE
Third, just because the wraith discuised itself as a bunch of enemies doesn't mean that EVERYTHING can be the wraith. Pikmin 4 introduces the raw material mechanic, which i highly doupt would be a extension of the wraith if the captains can turn it into whatever they want, including clay.
And lastly, i'd rather this theory be wrong because if everything pikmin was just "ha ha just kidding its all made of goo" i think it would make pikmin a lot less interesting.
I dont think the video means that everything is made of wraith goo, i think its that the umibozu/last human set up the planet to be like how it remembers humanity using the materials available (hence the lack of goo-ness and the perfect condition of the house) and it put fruit and treasure everywhere to attract people

My theory is that PNF 404 is in another dimension where it is a exact replica of earth just with no people
But that just a theory and like with all theories you can choose to believe it if you want or don’t, that’s what makes theories, well theories. Something that you can choose to think it’s real if you want but If you don’t then it’s not true. It’s all up to you for what you want to believe

@@thechampionofskylands yeah I was just correcting this person on what the video actually meant, both theories seem equally sound except for the Geiger counter which wouldn't exactly make sense if it's just a replica of earth without people (or maybe since it's tiny it detects cosmic rays or other background radiation as high amounts of radiation but that doesnt really make sense) I would check if the Geiger counter thing got changed in 4 but my switch is kinda locked in the middle of a stage I don't want to quit

I theory i heard in a CZcams video time ago is that time on PNF-404 is zipping to different time frames or something, they were experimenting with the 4th dimensional things, which would explain the plasm wraith. Maybe its a 4th dimensional creature. maybe that's the reason why humans are extinct.

I thought Umibozu was obsessed with pulling the captains in because he was a remnant left over from the time humans were around, and the Hocotatians/Koppaites/etc. resembled human-kind just enough that he became obsessed with the idea of repopulating earth with humans again.

If you think about it, Pikmin 4 is a entirely new alternate universe
We know this because, at the start of the demo it shows Olimar with his dog, Moss but Moss wasn't in Pikmin 1 soo.....
After the house bit (that we saw in the demo) Olimar must have died, got put in the onion and turned into a leafling
And maybe after a long time (or a short time, we don't know), something happened to Olimar that made him turn evil (possibly the umibozu).
OK so that's my theory!
PS: have you ever thought that Hey, Pikmin! is a prequel to Pikmin 3?
Hey, Pikmin! likely led to an alternate Pikmin 2 (where purples and whites don't exist).
Think about it! There aren't any rock or winged pikmin in Pikmin 1 and the Pikmin 3 gang found info files FROM Olimar ABOUT Rocks and Wings!

If you keep going for days in the demo by not collecting treasure u unlock more of Olimars log.
pikmin 1 2 and 3 never happened according to Olimar's log he dreamt about pikmin 2. which means pikmin 3 cant have happened cause he doesn't have the S.S dolphin. And it also means pikmin 1 events didn't happen at all besides the crash.
He says he had a dream about how Louie ate the golden PikPik carrots, not the debt itself. Reading comprehension is essential here. We'll know more when the full game is out.
yeah a parallel world is a good theory, because in pikmin 4, you can take as a treasure some giant recently fried fresh meat...
unless the 3 from pikmin 3 show up in pikmin 4, im certain this game takes place in between 1 and 2. Olimar was nowhere near abandonded buildings in 1, then he crashes into a backyard, and flies into an intact building in 4, and he comes back to an abandoned earth in 2. He has to go in lightspeed to go back and forth from earth and his planet, which probably takes a couple million earth years to do. There were really no signs of humans in 1, so I believe that the pikmin 1 era was before, or really early humans, pikmin 4 would be during modern humans as we know them, and 2 would be after. The lack of caves in 1 would make sense too, cause most of the caves in 2 and 4 have many human-built features.
Maybe the million years is when the pikmin evolve to the new types

It is earth. pikmin not only shows shots of earth, in the original pikmin 2, recognizable brands were seen on the treasures such as the first one. A Duracell battery.
It was hinted in game that Pikmin 4 takes place before Pikmin 3. So you can make an argument that Pikmin 3 takes place at the end of the timeline with the Plasm Wraith evolving over time from the Water Wraith. We get a hint with the Foolix, a mutated of alternative variation of the Goolix.

One thing we learn is that any creature with leafs on them like the dogs or pikmin, if they go far enough away from PNF-404 it becomes very dangerous to their health, meaning there is likely something on the planet that they can't go too far from.

There's something we seriously need to pay attention to.
Time moves slower underground on PNF 404.
As in, the closer you get to the center of the planet, the slower time moves, meaning if you're not even ON the planet, a couple seconds out in space could become centuries on PNF.
The truth will lie deep underground, some strange anamoly warping the very nature of time, perhaps even flinging the direction of time back and forth on a whim?
I’ll be honest, with the Geiger counter, I keep thinking the radiation that it was detecting was actually residual radiation from deep space. Olimar generally doesn’t know what it does so he was explaining what he thinks it’s doing when working.
My theory is that the amebozu is the only creature in pikmin that actually interacts with earth, the rest, including olimar and the pikmin, are interacting with an alternate earth created by the amebozu, due to the water wraith's "true form existing in an alternate dimension". All the treasures and fruits and stuff are synthesized in convenient places so that the amebozu can study how the various captains solve puzzles. It's not malicious, otherwise you would never be able to leave at the end of the game, just curious.

I think it's cool to think that it's drawing space men down to PNF-404 just to simply have friends. Nothing malicious, it's a god-like creature from another dimension that evolves all the time ffs, it's gotta get lonely eventually.

I have a WILD theory to this, but I'll give it here. I think that the people that are here are on vacation, and it acts like a toy story scenario where things like enemies and pikmin come out to explore when humans aren't around. My idea is that the capitans arrive at this point, and thats where the game starts

Astronauts in space age a little bit slower than people on Earth due to time-dilation effects, but only by a minuscule amount due to the relativity of time, which depends on the speed and gravity of the observer
Fun fact: if you got a physical copy of pikmin 1, you can find a bag of seeds in it. The seeds are from flowers that were genetically bred to be identical to the flowers on pikmin!

I like that we Pikmin fans noticed the fucking house and are now scrambling to find what it means for the world building of Pikmin, but honestly, I think that Nintendo's just satisfying their family-friendly look in their games, and a post-apocalyptic environment is kinda limiting to make cute. (even though its possible) But hey, we get a game, that's all I want.

If I'm correct, there's a chance Pikmin 4 retcons a few things, because Olimar speaks as if he JUST landed on the planet, first learning of the Pikmin, collecting pieces of the Dolphin. It may very well be that Pikmin 4 is either another timeline (god help us) or a retcon to say "This is what actually happened with Pikmin 1!" but I'm not sure, time will tell...tomorrow??
I think it’s a prequel. If you look at one of the music box treasure things(the one that plays the pikmin 3 theme) Olimar’s notes talks about how it gives him the feeling of a future adventure or something.
@@IJC039 That's for sure, I could gather that much from the fact Olimar has the Dolphin and needed to collect ship parts, etc. as well as him referring to Pikmin as if it was the first time he was finding them. so that's a fact, it's definitely a prequel
I think pikmin 4 is an alternate universe where Olimars interstellar radio is able to reach others planets. Where Olimar fails his mission and has to rely on others to get him home, and where the events of pikmin 2 cease to exist because Olimar can’t make it home, but olimars distress signals makes it so Louie is sent on a completely mission.
I think it’s kind of strange, but I believe pikmin 4 falls in between 1 and 3, it’s like a different scenario for pikmin 2.

Maybe Pikmin, because how odd they are even to PNF-404, are native to a different planet, and exist on PNF-404 to help those who are trapped and to get rid of the Big Bad who is ruining the planet. Maybe even pikmin are made by humans to take the planet back? Probably not the best explanation

Pikmin 4 is a parallel story of Pikmin 1 in which Olimar failed to escape but called in the rescue team instead. PNF-404 time should be roughly the same as Pikmin 1.

I have a theory that all what you said already happend in a nintendo game named Crystalis. You can play it in the Nes NSO. Mainly this is a game that has the plot that the earth was pretty mich destoyed and that creatures have mutated just saying.

Umibōzu is a fictional Japanese creature Amabōzu (the actual Pikmin character) was named after.
I think it’s more likely that that the pikmin games take place on an abandoned earth like in wall-e but due to like a virus or something that has caused all the small wildlife to mutate in order to survive
It’ll be shocking if the final boss in a future Pikmin game is a human since they’re bigger than Olimar and the others who went to pnf-404

You know what if in the prolog of pikmin 4...that isnt olimar its the umibozu mimicking olimar and retreating olimars firsr adveture in order to befriend the pikmin for himself, until he finds moss...a creature he doesn't recognize but decides to befriend it anyways...but then once he gets the cominicator ...it realized it could just use olimars distress signal (which let say umibozu was interfering with in the original to prevent olimars escape in pikmin 1) to lure more aliens to the planet and use the endless bounty of tresure ans food as the bait to keep them around
The lifeforms are too foreign to be earth as we know it, and everything is in near pristine condition. I dont think it's actually desolate of larger lifeforms, but it's difficult to say entirely

I consider the fact that humans are alive to be extremely likely remember the protagonists are very small it takes a long time for them to get anywhere And the places where they are are normally in the wild or somewhere where people won't just hang around for no reason Most likely yes they would be inside but then when we are inside of a house They've already left for work
Pikmin 4 isnt playing after Pikmin 3. Pikmin 4 is basically a parallel story and you cant draw assumptions from it to other game
The shapeshifting also has its limits. The shapeshifted bugs as example cant get collected by the pikmin to grow new ones, so its a too big of a jump to assume everything is shapeshifted. Especially because the shapeshift things only seem to be possible in the generel area of it, because we only see the shapeshifting in the area it lives in
