    Nice to see correctly made oil return from the turbo with a pump. Too many of the return to sump under the pickup destroy your engine with foam setups.

    You are definitely going to need Fast by Me swingarm extensions. I have a gen1 MR. TURBO draw through setup bike here in the garage, and it stands up with a 280 pound rider. It either willeys, or spins.

    Nice build. My first turbo build was similar. A 86 gsxr 750 limited. Ihi turbo, blow through 1100 carbs , with twin side mounted intercoolers. Same oil feed and return check valves you used.. made 179 on a dynojet. I believe was in 1991. Still have vids from it.
    Always had little issues with the return pumps.
    On my latest build cbr900r/gsxr 1000 turbo i machined a spacer with reed valve on oem oil pump pickup to provide suction for return. Took a bit of tine and some black magic to perfect it but worked great. haha.
    See it in action in vids.on my channel.

    • @Realboostedbikes
      @Realboostedbikes  Před 9 dny +1

      That sounds like a sweet piece of kit! Twin intercoolers is a cool idea. I prefer a gravity drain from the turbo but it's hard to get the turbo to sit high enough. The scavenge pumps aren't the best solution it's hard on the turbo.

      @@Realboostedbikes i keep saying i am going to make a short vid with pics i have of the build and some old school on bike vids of that bike. the vids aren't best quality as cams back then were horrible .lol
      but still have some cool vids of the speedo stopping working about 50mph then jumping to 150mph when the front wheel touches the ground again.. that was back when the speedos ran off the front wheel with a cable.. i would snap the end of the speedo cable off every few weeks then tig it back together and repeat, over and over. .lol.
      if i ever get to posting a vid of my 86gsxr 750 limited build ill let you know.
      keep up the gd wk.

    do hayabusa rod bearings also fit the old suzuki oil cooled engines as well? Also did you have to degree the cams in with adjustable cam gears when using the spacer plate?

    • @Realboostedbikes
      @Realboostedbikes  Před 6 dny +1

      Yes the hayabusa rod bearings do fit, they are the same dimensions as the stock bandit rod bearings. You don't have to degree the cams with the spacer plate but I just wanted the most power possible out of it. You do need slotted cam gears to degree them as well

    Awesome bike. What idle Afr do you get and what carb settings are you using to set it up overall?

    • @Realboostedbikes
      @Realboostedbikes  Před 9 dny +1

      I saw 9.8-10.2 to 1 AFR at wide open throttle. Wayy to rich for good numbers. Stock pilot jets, dynojet needles, 132.5 main jet. Going to step the pilot jets up one size and go back to stock needles and see where is sits then.

      @@Realboostedbikes Your bike looks superb! I am familiar with D Dunlop's work which here in the UK is very well respected. I have a bandit turbo kit ready to go onto a bike but the builder recommends going with 115 main jets. This would be for a std Bandit piston set up with low boost. 115 seems a long way down from 132.5 jets, what would be your thoughts on this size of jet? (My kit is not a FBM one!).

    • @dixiethedog1777
      @dixiethedog1777 Před 4 dny

      I have been recommended (as above) 115 mains, needle clip second from top and air screw 2.5 turns out. The fuel pressure set at 2psi static. As somebody with a dyno, do you think this would work or be a touch lean?

    • @Realboostedbikes
      @Realboostedbikes  Před 4 dny +1

      @dixiethedog1777 mains will be too lean start at 130's. My bikes only rich with the 130s because I have dynojet needles

      @@Realboostedbikes Thanks for the info. I'll try 130's when the time comes. My kit supplier says that you should avoid dynojet parts like the plague but I don't know enough to work out why. He has a YT channel with some of his bikes should you be interested, search Pete Field. Thanks again!

    Turbo bikes for drag racing only. Never want that thing spooling and hitting mid corner on a bike. Supercharger fine no big hit all at once, deadly on bikes when leaned in a corner.

    • @Realboostedbikes
      @Realboostedbikes  Před 9 dny +1

      Not true with modern turbochargers. This bike feels like its supercharged the power if very linear. It's not like my older turbo bikes where the power doubles within 1500 rpm

    • @MJPilote
      @MJPilote Před 9 dny +2

      Thats just wrong, you have actually not ridden a turbo bike it seems. Correct sizing the turbo makes wonders on drivability. Ever heard of factory made turbo bikes? Just about every manufacturer has made some at one point or another.
