After watching this series it made me appreciate the Star Wars Prequel trilogy a lot more than ever
3:55 It works because it’s an easy way to have a badass character for action scenes, paired with a young inexperienced character to give them an emotional attachment to. Plus it’s easy to have them be the cause for all the chaos as they most often are. A living mcguffin. Doctor Strange 2 just did that with America Chavez. Equalizer 1. Extraction. So many films and shows use it. Last of Us is coming. Resident Evil. It goes on and on
"Problem Child" is an old reference? Dude, GENTLE BEN was a TV series that ran from 1967 to 1969!
React to the Doctor Strange Honest Trailer! And HISHE
"Gentle Ben" was a Great kids TV show about a Friendly Bear
Problem Child was filmed a few blocks from my home in Dallas. So, I totally got that one. Great reaction.
I think one thing they didn’t point out was Obi-wan swatting with his lightsaber to deflect blaster bolts in episode 4. It looked really bad. Like Steph said, I had issues with the series and I could see where they could’ve improved but overall I enjoyed the show.
Vincent Adultman = Bojack Horseman reference
I know about Problem Child and i was born in the mid 90s. It is really accurate here because both Leia and Junior are Orphans that got adopted and were smart brat (Junior was worse) and got Kidnapped.
I knew the Problem Child reference. Of course, I knew the Gentle Ben reference too.
I thought the series was okay. The thing that made me laugh multiple times is when people referred to Kenobi as "old man". He doesn't look that old. No grey hair or anything. When Leia said, "Grandpa maybe" I did a little double take because Bail is a lot older than Kenobi. So you're actual adopted Dad is like 10 yrs older than the guy you said could be your grandpa. It's a small nit pick in the grand scheme of things. It's just something that stood out to me.
Good point... never occurred to me. But when she says that I just thought of their age groups and it seeemed to make sense that a 10-y-o calls a man who is (apparently) in his late 40s grandfather. Personal experience - I was 19 and working in a bookshop when a 11-year-old called me 'uncle'.
@@csgollum Even Reva refers to him as an "old man" when they're breaking out of the stronghold on Nur. He's only 6 yrs older than Qui Gon was in Phantom Menace. I get what they're trying for. In around 10 yrs he's going to be Obi Wan in "A New Hope" but still. Guiness was 86 in that movie so I get it. Still seems strange to call him an old man looking the way he does in this series. It's a small quibble but it's one that made me shake my head a couple of times.
3:51
it's pretty obvious dudes
all of us have an instinct to protect the babies of our species
so we see ourselves in the protector's skin in these shows and get a sense of acomplishment
I did knew that reference, I remember those movies pretty well
Viewers: man CZcams recommendations are being boring
Kenobi Clips: *Hello There!*
How would anybody not know the problem child reference. I remember my dad renting it.
Right? Hell i was born in the mid 90s and i know about it. i like how It is really accurate here because both Leia and Junior are Orphans that got adopted and were smart brat (Junior was worse) and got Kidnapped.
I grew up watching the problem child movies. I loved them as a kid!
This series was a much needed one from all the animation shenanigans to the plot holes and those OG prequel movies . Obi wan kenobi really gives an awesome light to many underlying events and connection points . It was such a great stuffs after so many years from star wars . Honest trailer video was very pretty accurate representation. Love your reaction
Last of Us is my favorite example of the “father and (not) child cliche”
"Super Speed!"
Yeeeup! I literally yelled that at the screen.
the only thing that matters; the Iconic..
"Hello there.. ." ..with the toy in his hand.
DOPE AF~!!!!
🙌⛩️🕉️☯️⚛️⛩️🙌.
(sigh) you didn't get the BoJack Horseman reference. lol
Jaby said “what?” To the Red Hot Chilli Peppers reference. Flea the bassist of the band was that guy.
I loved the problem child 1 and 2 growing up
i knew the problem child reference
3:15= Watch Bojack Horseman
I just associated 'problem child' reference to My Hero Academia where Aizawa calls MC Midoriya Problem Child
i get the reference Jaby, Problem Child, saw as a kid, barely remember but i get it..there was a Third??????
I got that reference
i knew that reference
I knew the "Problem Child" reference - but I'm old, so...
3:47 (SPOILERS) Thor Love and Thunder
In regards to Hayden Christensen, watch "Shattered Glass".
i love all the Star Wars movies as a kid even though many people hated some of them and like an Star Wars movie the show had a lot of plot holes but i dont care, i really liked it..i know Hayden has aged very well he does not look early 20's anymore, his flashback scenes were odd, they should of de-aged but still enjoyed them😊
Watched all Problem child movies. They are hilarious.
(I knew the Problem Child reference)
Next reaction teaser trailer Sri Asih... new superhero from indonesia After Gundala which is the second film from the Bumilangit Universe ...
Hello There!
I knew the reference for Problem Child… But I’m also 41 🤷♀️
I'm 26 i knew that too.
Weird seeing Steph on a different show besides when she works with Kristian but shouldn’t be surprised because as someone new to this channel this guy seems to get all the hotties reacting with him.
So I guess you are not going to do more L, D+Rs huh Jaby?
Yes can we get more of that please
What's that mean?
@@prathapkutty7407 Love Death + Robots
YEH....DENNIS THE MENACE [PROBLEM CHILD]
2:11 I like her
They forgot to show Man On Fire
Hi U are my Faveir YouRuber
"That's what I love about these high school girls. I get older, they stay the same age." is a Matthew McConaughey reference from "Dazed & Confused"
czcams.com/video/wknywxfcE5M/video.html
Problem Child isn’t a deep reference
While I agree that there are some horrible people out there that say horrible things, I really dislike how everything always gets pushed back to being the "fans" fault. Jake Lloyd specifically cited harrassment by the press as being one of the biggest reasons for him. Pretty sure Best and Christiansen said similar things at the time. Now all of it just gets turned into "toxic fans" are to blame, and it's almost a crime in some eyes to say you don't like something, because that somehow detracts from them liking it. "Just don't watch it" or "it's not for you" become the responses to just wishing it was better.
Sorry Jaby, but saying she "ran" with it is a big stretch. She waddled at best. 😆
Moses Ingram's acting was a mix of silly and robotic most of the time. I'm glad honest trailer pointed it out.
Logan was paced brilliantly, as it waited until the last possible second for him to make the paternal connection and die "holding his heart in his hand." Just gut wrenching, but so frigging good.
I love the show it was incredible i still dont get people's problem with Hayden Christian i love his portrayal of anakin and he was fantastic in the series
Yes I understood that reference. I *hated* those movies as a child and I didn't know they made a third one.
That formula doesn't work well, it's written well when a writer does a good job, but OBI Wan clearly showed that it is broke and needs fixing.
Also, the major age issue is Jorge's doing, he insisted on making Anakin a child in the first movie rather than a teenager and that threw off the birth of the twins and Owen, Baru and Ben's ages in star wars.
Disney in general have just fully embraced and gone down the path of "quantity" over "quality", and it makes me very sad. For Marvel and Star Wars, instead of trying to tell a solid, well thought out, and high quality story, they just try to do barely enough with just the right amount of fan service so that they can make as much money as possible. Instead of trying to do few 10/10 level of quality of shows, they like to release a large batch of just "ok" or "just good enough" 6-7/10 level of quality of shows because they know that it will make them the most money and that people will continue to pay for it. The same can be said for all of these completely unnecessary and mediocre live action remakes of their classic original animated films like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Maleficent, The Lion King, Aladdin, etc. They don't try to actually make good remakes that are just as good, if not better than the original; they only try to feed us with a bunch of nostalgia because they know that we'll pay for it, and lo and behold these movies keep making them boatloads of money. Disney needs to just go back to creating new content in the spirit of being creative and giving the audience a well-crafted and unforgettable story instead of trying to figure out what fan service, nostalgia, and already used ideas they can incorporate in order for us to give them more money
Personally, I feel like Rava stole thunder from Obi Wan and Vader. She was interesting character, but poorly used.
What people will accept nowadays...
Hey guys, Steph looking good!! Poor Obi! Getting Roasted, he gets no respect..oh another popular franchise with Father figure and young kid needing saving..The Last of Us, also becoming a show..Oh Jaby not all white people age quickly, dont know where u get that from, i look nothing like my actual age..very disrespectful Jaby Kenobi..
Why are you guys not reacting to ms Marvel episodes breakdown by new rockstars
Star Wars fan or Disney Star Wars fan?
I appreciate the original movies and reluctantly enjoyed the prequels. Episode 7 was okay, 8 was trash. I will never watch beyond the Lucasfilm movies.
I felt the Kenobi series was weak
Honest trailers are not harsh, they speak the truth, Kenobi sucked
Obi wan is the worst show EVER. It broke canon, and created plot holes and made characters dumb
Formula works so well really?
Obi-wan Kenobi is one of the worst series ever
U clearly didnt watch any of the mcu shows
Baby Leia was the only great thing in this show basically. Zero story, bad writing, even worse directing. Literally no point of this show.
The Show was sht. Even if u don't nitpick, the script was awful. Leia was OP and annoying, while Reva acting was underwhelming. I mean did anybody find her menacing or threatening?
Lmao
You were close Jaby..sooo close.
But "Problem Child wasn't the, deep dive.
"Gentle Ben" was.😁
Originally it was a 1965 book by that name, about a boy and his Bear, followed by a 1967 Paramount theatrical release called, "Gentle Giant".
Which then became the popular CBS television series from 1967 to 69.
There was an 80s cartoon, and attempted reboots in the early 2000s. But the 60s TV series (with a fair few important names attached), was the hit.
