I'm from Portugal and I'm 39 years old. Since I was a child, Japanese culture fascinates me, in all aspects as well as the country itself, which is beautiful. The Japanese are an absolutely superior civilization in everything
Thank you for your comment. Yes,I think so too. But unfortunately, more than 95% Kimonos are machine printed nowadays. To preserve this techniques and let people know, I uploaded the video above. Showing a video is way too easier to understand how Kimonos are made than writing, eh?
Thank you so much. Unfortunately, we don't have its English version. But this may help you a bit. We have a brand called "zen hand drawing". What we are selling there is bags following the same method as we make Kimono. And we have English pages there too. I don't know why but CZcams don't allow me to put links in a comment here. Could you type "zen hand drawing" how to make on Google. And click the first link you see. I explain how we make stuff our bag using these techniques in English.
No wonder kimono is so expensive! So much work to make the cloth and colour it with real gold! So beautiful! Domo arigato gozaimasu yuzentakuma san! ~Janet in Canada
It takes at least 10 years until each craftsman establishes himself as a professional. I hope you will be one of them sometime in the future. Thank you.
I have a new found respect for Kimonos. So much craftsmanship put into it. I wish people here wore kimonos, explore new culture :'(. Great job I love the work!
I don't think there are any words in the english language to describe just how beautiful and amazing this is. The amount of detail and work put into this is just outstanding. I wish I could learn how to do this, I'm sure it takes a long time and hard work but the results are literally breath taking and totally worth it. WOW
This reminds me of medieval and renaissance tapestries and the 9 to 14 month process it takes to make one, except this is to be worn on the body. It's a very craftsman type of philosophy, rather than a pure aesthetic one.
Wow, these paintintings are just gorgeous 🥰 I love the dark blue base colour, that makes the rest of the design really pop and goes well with the gold ornaments, too :)
I keep watching videos on how kimono are made and it takes my breath away at the incredible work and dedication to create such ethereal works of art. I make jewelry that is often inspired by the OBI and the whole kimono. I think after watching to many video, I will go back to my work and explore deeper my appreciation for this art form. Thank you very much. 🙏🏼❤️
This was just amazing, such beauty and intensity. This is why I am going into fashion, so I could make something as beautiful, but I don't think that tradition will ever be beaten.
Omgosh this is stunning and absolutely amazing detail and technique! I'd love to watch from beginning to end. Wonder how long they train to make these? Thank you for sharing!!
You tube recomendme your video today and I am so happy! What a beautiful creation! I really admire japanes artisans, everything they do is perfect, carefully create it and beautiful!
Wow, it truly is an explosion of art and beauty. Although I love my kimono a LOT, this video has made me appreciate all the craftsmanship and hard work even more. Thank you for such a wonderful video
Oh how I love the stunning kimono artworks! Each piece is such an amazing treasure ~ I can certainly understand the deep cost. It is why I collect vintage kimono, it must be appreciated! Thank you for posting this video, it definitely deepens the understanding of kimono tradition.
The process of making kimono like this is just as beautiful as the final product. what a dedicated way of art! when i finish college and am making a decent salary i will make a point to buy one of these at full price. This is an art form that should never be allowed to die and deserves all the support it can get from the japanese and international community. Every time humanity moves forward (technologicaly), skills are lost. I think this is one skill that has become rare..we have to protect it
Epic talents! I wish I could do this too! That would be so amazing to create a unique piece each time! I will find a store/craftsman when I'll go to Japan, just to, at least, see all of this!
I hope this craft is considered a culturally important part of Japanese life. Some of the most complex and compelling art forms from Japan are disappearing. Thank you for sharing.
Whenever we make kimonos, we use the traditional dyeing techniques called "Tegaki(hand drawn) Kyo-Yuzen". But it takes too much time to make so that unfortunately there is just few Kimonos following the way these days.
Thank you for posting this Amazing video. I wanted to know when they are drawing are they drawing right on top of the material ? And what is the liquid they putting on top of the design looks like a kind of a glue. Just Amazing the Artistry & work that goes into making a Kimono hope the tradition does not die.
Thanks for your comment. It takes at least 2 months to make Kimono or Obi. It depends on how many patterns are on it. If there are so many kinds of or numbers of patterns on it like in the video, it takes more. I'm afraid No. You can't use a washing machines for that. Dry cleaning would be helpful but specialized knowledge or skills are needed. Thanks.
Some people asked us what the song name is.
It's called "Takanoniharuka" which is "たかのにはるか" in Japanese.
Thank you.
Thank you so very much.
Your dedication to this piece of art is amazing! absolutely beautiful! you guys are gods!!!
Thx. This was a treat for the ears and eyes.

I have a new found respect for Kimonos. So much craftsmanship put into it. I wish people here wore kimonos, explore new culture :'(. Great job I love the work!
Acid dyes are used to make it.
Yes, the dyes are made from scratch. Basically, we mix up several dyes to get the right colors we want.
Thanks.
It's kind of hard to imagine someone wearing something so marvelous...Gorgeous work!
