    After 100's of gigs in the bag i can say for sure the QU16 is incredible. So easy to use, sounds so great, and all the knobs and controls still feel like new after 1000's of adjustments.
    If you are looking for a very capable small mixer with 16 mic pre's and 3 stereo channels, 7 auxes, multi track recording its a no brainer.

    I have the same desk and it's awesome. The only thing I struggle with is the FX. I manage to send FX to the main / front of house P.A., but I struggle to get FX on my monitors. I normally assign Mix 1 and Mix 2 as monitors. Some artists wants FX on their monitors. How does one do that? Do you know? Do you have a video available?

    • @AllenandHeathUK
      @AllenandHeathUK Před 9 lety +3

      Marius Vermaak Hi Marius, adding FX to the Mix Outputs is exactly the same as adding audio. Enter Mix 1 or Mix 2 and just you like you bring up the channel faders to add audio, bring up the FX return on the upper layer to add the FX return. You can't have independent FX for the mix outputs because the audio is being tapped off of the main LR mix, I hope it helps, Mike.

    • @jackeatley
      @jackeatley Před 8 lety

      +Dale Foulser Depends, because of the ability to upscale with the digi-snake this is actually quite appealing for that sort of work. The ability to recall your settings for the rooms and tasks you go to could save you a lot of time, and make your outfit look very organized and efficent. Same said for all the built in processing, no need for racks of kit. It would do a wonderful job. I wouldn't try to go digital and smaller honestly, 16 channels is a nice number for those small pub/rock, club band type jobs. The little presonus might also do the job, but you lose that up-scaling ability.

      Hi Aron! Yes, you can create an auxiliary mix by using one of the Aux outputs. You can get to this via the mix buttons on the right-hand side of the QU-16, the faders will then represent the Auxiliary mix you are creating. - You can then choose the custom Aux mix within your DAW/Streaming platform for the audio input. - We hope that this helps!

    I have a question about using this similar to the way I use my analog board while recording in my studio. What I’d like to know is, if I’m running eight microphones to a drum kit, but I want to go through my ADAT eight input unit, and then into my apogee interface, can I do that via the outs on the back of the Allen and Heath? Basically what I would like to do, is use all of the processing on the board, compression EQ gate etc. and print it into my ProTools session, just like I would in my chain on my analog set up. Will that work? Can I actually track and have the effects from the Allen and Heath print via ADAT?? Thanks in advance.

    • @StudiosparesTV
      @StudiosparesTV  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Mike, yes you can assign each channel to one of the mix outputs on the back of the QU-16 which will send the processed signal out via analogue XLR cable to your ADAT/Apogee setup. Be sure to get your gain structuring right between the preamps and outputs on the QU-16 and your line inputs on the ADAT.
      The QU does also function as 16 channel audio interface via USB so you could also just work directly through the QU16 to Pro Tools.

      @MoANjAmSaiNT Před 7 lety

      Monitor feeds are aux outputs from your mixer. You send a portion of your channel mix to these auxs, usually found on each channel strip and these are then sent out of your mixer via aux 1, aux 2 outputs to the monitors. Depending on which sort of board you own you will need to have the aux output level at say 50% as well as the monitor unit line input level and also your monitor main output level so that the signal chain is maintained.

    16 faders? Fine. 16 channel paths? Inexcusable on any digital mixer 48+ physical inputs. Who buys such an inflexible piece of hardware? Is it $500? That would be justifiable. If more than that, it’s a mistake.

    I have never been a fan of Allen & Heath, it is junk for a very expensive price. this company is only based on making a profit, but quality is hard to find. if you are looking for a mixer, then look more at Presonus that is more quality and you get a lot more for your money. and the price is a lot lower
