- Dakota Malik is a 19 month old boy who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (Spastic Hemiplegia) at the young age of 9 months. In short, he has a wonderful prognosis and we are so blessed and thankful, but we wanted to start sharing his journey to enlighten those who may suspect CP in their children, or simply to educate others and bring more awareness to the disability. Thank you for watching.

Hi! I happened to come across your video and I just wanted to thank you for being so supportive of him because that matters SO much! I am 24 years old and have lived with spastic hemiplegia, also on my left side, since birth. Thanks to the efforts of my parents and all the fantastic doctors that helped me, I live a normal life and I am able to do anything I want, even if a bit differently from others. The support they gave me mentally was (and still is) also very important as it made me keep on trying even when things weren't easy. Best of luck to your little boy! I hope he never forgets that we can do anything we set our minds to. 💕
My boy is now 2+ years .. right hand hemiplegic
Omg! This video has given me a wave of emotions. Your little guy is a warrior. He is equipped with an amazing support system. I pray that he continues to excel. The little ladies of Sacramento better watch out for Malik 2.0 and his dimples! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! He is such a blessing and is doing AMAZING! I have no doubt he will pave the way. ❤️
My son’s story is very similar, but with his right hand, he has his MRI at the end of this month but has been going to Occupational and physical therapy for a few months already, and is showing much improvement but still is left hand dominant and doesn’t much use his right hand unless I hold his other hand, your baby seems to be doing quite well with the help he’s been getting, I’d love to see more progress! Thank you for sharing your story, it helped give me hope my boy will be just fine.
Hello, I am wondering how did your child's mri go and how is your baby now since you posted xx
Thank you so much for sharing! We’re navigating this world right now and it’s brought on a slew of emotions. What a beautiful family! Keep on pushing, little man! So inspiring!
My nephew was told he might have CP because of this but it doesn’t look bad & they still have to do MRI & everything. But he only uses his left hand & tries to use his right him. Your baby looks like has made so much progress ♥️ and I’ve been looking at other videos & makes me feel about my nephew. Thannk you for showing this.
GOD bless and preserve him, his sister and you his parents. You all are doing a great job. Love his smiles and dimples.
I cried watching this as iv been searching and searching for any child that had presented the same way as my son has been, exactly the left hand dominance, lack of use of right side, same thing, the kicking, the thumping, my baby is 7 months now and we've already had an eeg which showed left hemisphere dysfunction and lowbackground, indicating something is there somewhere, we're getting the mri done when he turns 1. To confirm what I already know... And what physio already suspects.... I was brushed aside many times by diffrent doctors saying there's something not right with his right side but they wouldn't take me seriously for months.... Until his physio saw what I saw and she saw more then I saw and informed me that the thumping and super strength wasn't normal for such a small baby. I'm so happy to see that your son has progressed BEAUTIFULLY and is walking...thatscmybonky wish is for my boy to walk even if it means with braces ect, this gas made me do happy and settled. Thank you for sharing! 🌹💜I am curious as to what his mri findings were? My gut feeling is towards the cerebellum brain stem area including the ventricles.... Something around there. Xx
I've spotted the same in my daughter I'm waiting to go and see the neurosurgery team and her specialist thank you so much your son is amazing x
Ok so your video has me sitting and crying on my couch while baby naps. Our stories are so similar. Thank you.
Love your little family! What a blessing that your son has such incredible parents. Y'all will learn so much in this journey and you'll do it with love and perseverance!!!

I have spastic hemiplegia cerebral palsy on my left side ever since I was born. Due to a grade 4 intraventricular hemorrhage and hydrocephalus before I was born.
He's one handsome boy, God bless him
Thank you! We appreciate you! 💚
God bless u little one
Thank you! ❤️
I had twins when I was 27 weeks pregnant. Baby A is healthy and hitting his milestones but my baby B has chronic lung disease and is on 24/7 oxygen. I’ve started noticing sometimes his left arms just dangles and he doesn’t use it unless prompted. It’s mostly always fisted and now I’ve noticed his left leg doing the same. It’s curls when you try to plant it and he doesn’t stand firm on it when you hold him in a standing position. He had an evaluation with special intervention and he is 33 percent delayed in his motor development. He is 7 months but 4 months adjusted. He can’t hold his head up like his brother but he can turn to one side and he loves doing that. I’m really concerned because it feels like he is regressing we went to neurodevelopment and they scheduled an appointment for neurology. I’m so nervous. I just want him to have a happy and healthy life!
❤️❤️❤️
🙏🏽❤️
Hi!! Thank you so much for sharing this. I have a 7 month old and just unsure at this point what exactly is going on with him but of course im doing something I probably shouldn’t which is researching heavily on the internet until his appointment. My question for you is, did you all experience any difficulties with introducing him to solids?
My daughter has the exact same thing on the same side and everything... This was an inspiration to my wife and I. If you don’t mind, how are things now?
Hi there - first of all so sorry for the extremely delayed response. I hope you are all well! He's doing great - progressing wonderfully, does all the normal wild 3 year old things with a couple extra tumbles, bumps and bruises but he is the happiest dude ever. I will be updating shortly but if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out any time! I'm on IG @MariaWilsun or you can also just email me info@MariaWilsun.com
