Steve! Well remembered from the recap video. God, I had a nightmare getting this video finished (took about a year, but who's counting). Started off with the Jurassic angle and hit a creative brick wall... in about... March. Anyway, took it off the shelf, blew the dust off it, and finally got something uploaded. Still gutted I couldn't afford a Jeff Goldblum cameo... maybe one day! Hope you guys are well! Have I lost the plot or is it f-ing XMAS AGAIN?! I better start cranking out some more vids - my life is flashing before my eyes :/
This is absolutely hilarious!Just watched it with my daughter. Bizarrely we watched this after watching the Netflix Jurrasic Park cartoon (which is actually really good), so the comparison made it even more funny. This is just the best Mallorca video made this year. Never been to Dragonera but totally want to go now. ps. My girl commented "is that beer he's drinking walking up that hill?" Yep.. and is he playing the recorder? Just random and hilarious!
Haha! Great timing with Jurassic Park cartoon ;) It was such a lovely day trip, and St Elm is just lovely. Every time I end up there I search my pockets for a misplaced 3 million euros so I can grab a house there. Also, I've just watched your Old Town Halloween stream. Can you believe we lived in the SAME bloody building in Placa Quartera?! We were on the 2nd floor (11/2) for 7 years until we left in Oct 2020! If you look at any of my earliest videos from Mallorca, there's a lot of video of our apartment during lockdown. When did you move out?! We arrived Nov 2014. I'm amazed... what an incredible coincidence :P And yes, VERY much hope Quina Creu reopens. We ate/drank in the bar there 3 times a week for years and years. Was very sad to see Ca La Seu close down too. Thank God La Cuadra del Mano (meat grill, lovely family owners, good friends of ours) is still going strong after lockdown. Miss the square a lot, but NOT noise at 4am lol :D Also, VERY happy to see my good friend Dani from Loco Wheels (scooter rental) appear in the background of your video. Thousands of hours spent drinking Mahou and talking rubbish with him in the square. Good times!! PS - Funny of your daughter to pick up on my boozy hiking! Fond memories as I'm on a diet now. It's alright having a bit of a tummy here in the UK because no-one ever sees your skin, but not in Mallorca. I have MUCH work to do before the summer season 2022. What a lovely trip down (recent) memory lane, Alex. So many good times in Placa Quartera and the surrounding streets. I wonder how many times we've been tables away from each other in Quina Creu?! When they open, I think it would be fitting we meet there for a beer and a pinxot :D All the best and hope to see you soon! In the meantime, keep up the great work with your awesome channel!
@@RuairidhMason WHAT THE... no way SERIOUSLY!! That's so funny. We missed each other by a few years though! I lived there from 2005 til early 2010 (maybe late 2009) I think! Did you know Luis and Vicky on the 5th floor from Uruguay - he worked at IB3. And Elvis the Jack Russell on floor 3. I can't remember the owners' names but see them round my way now from time to time. Always take friends and family visiting to QC. I'm going to speak to Jose and see when it's reopening. Just a legendary place. Had my 40th in there too! We definitely must've crossed paths at some point!! I don't miss the glass recycling being done at 4 AM though, but it was such a brilliant place to live. So many bars on so many corners and so social. Definitely have to meet up there when you get back here!
So funny mate, you pulled out all the stops on this one. Where did you find the recording of Les Dawson playing the flute? I was fascinated by Dragonera and absolutely loved those pesky lizards (although when we went we didn't tempt them with a picnic of Mallorcan meats, cheeses and tins of Heineken!) Hopefully, if your budget can stretch, you can do a sequel to this on 'Goat Island' ie Cabrera? All the best, mate!👍
Chris! Glad you appreciated the significant leap up in production value (ahem) for this one. And I will most definitely get to Cabrera whence we return for good... Always wanted to go DESPITE my absolute hatred of the smell of goats (and all of their produce) and their creepy eyes with the rectangular pupil! I'll take a nose clip and avoid eye contact.
