The fact that warranty for all N models covers track use really shows a commitment to motorsports.
That's always been a very unique characteristic of Hyundai. If they expect buyer to chance on their products, they don't leave them high and dry if they don't deliver. At least that's true according to the warranty.
Now when it comes to service, that's something totally different. Only Hyundai owners can speak on how well that works.
If you wreck it at the track insurrance is not gonna pay.
Hyundai out here making cars that ACTUALLY look as close to their concepts as possible. I'm excited for this IONIQ 5 N
Wait until you see the Hiphi Z!
Did he seriously cite "Emotional Damage!"?! 😂 Love it
love the energy of the hyundai crew in this one. love tapped the wall? sign it! sign it! def rooting for hyundai, and love that they're doing fun things with ev's
Hyundai totally changed with the guy leading the N division.
@@YTYTYTY7 The current N guy or the N guy when N first became a thing with the i30N?
This man is solely responsible for a teenage me learning first drifts in my 320i e30 exactly 20 years ago. This man is also responsible for 38 year old me, still drifting like a kid in my current 370z. Long live the (drift) king!
I remember seeing him cameo in Tokyo Drift and I knew the movie would be good. Long live the king!
@@spdcrzy i first saw him in some car cassette compilations, and then in drift bible. The cameo in f&f was cute
DK
It sounds like you still admit you have a lot to learn? Drive responsibly.
@@krane15 I have my drivers license for a bit over 20 years now. I have driven many racetracks, including the Nürburgring. I have gone above 160mph, for periods of time. I have drifted with speeds above 80mph. I experienced crazy saves and near misses. I also experienced minor dings and easy crashes. I drive a simulator daily.
And yes. I still have a lot to learn. I have a WHOLE LOT to learn. I will probably keep learning until I'm too old to drive. No shame in admitting that there's always opportunity to grow.
props to Hyundai for delivering for the motor enthusiasts.
whether it’s ICE or EV, they know how to appeal to the audience.
also so good to see Keiichi still kicking it behind the wheel. ❤
And they break down so much they make good mechanics
I deeply respect what Hyundai/KIA has been able to do with their cars. The people they have in charge get it.
They got some of the BMW M team designing these cars right?
@@NickTaylorRickPowers right!
the only things they don't get is taking responsibly of admitting faulty design which allows POS to steal and causing problems on the road, and questionable build quality but sure they got the fun part down.
@@L96A1BM you just described Dodge too 🤣
@@Lifeof728 True 🤣
Never would have thought I'd be rooting for Hyundai, they seem like one of the only manufacturers keeping fun cars alive in an age of sterile EVs.
As a guy who scoffed at a Hyundai when they first came out, I feel the same way. Complete 360 to loving and rooting for the brand, pretty impressive for what they have built.
I just wish they kept around a RWD fun car with the Genesis, with a few simple mods those are pretty fun! The 74 definitely needs to happen, even better if it was an H shift performance hybrid! But yeah, they definitely forcing others into coming out with decent ICE sports cars.
living in the US sorta sucks some times. my friends are all fan boi's of ford or chevy or mopar... im like "i like cars" and they will go, "what brand?" and im like "yes" i like all brands. each one is doing something different and each needs to be looked at different
There are still many gas rwd cars that are the real ones keeping things alive
@@IDv8I *cough 180... not 360, 360 means they in the same spot* *cough, cough*
I've been an i20N owner for almost 2 years now, and I can say hands down, it is one of the best cars I have ever owned.
What cars did you had before the i20n? I'm used to pretty high horse power cars (at the moment a 510hp c63s) but I enjoy my wife's 2011 golf gti just as much. I can see us owning a i20n and Ioniq 5 N as our car in the future.
@@tubejorritWhat do they say about the reliability of these Hyundais and kias
Seeing Larry sliding the car into the bumper and then signing that exact bumper!? That stuff makes me smile ear to ear! I love that he keeps us dreamers, dreaming!
The N Team look like an amazing bunch of people who are passionate about what they do. great coverage Larry!
From the day I drove one 5yrs ago I bought one and the N brand has looked after me. I am now one of their top Nthusiasts in Melb and an Ambassador of the Berwick delivership... I love my Sedan, I love every moment I am in it
Hyunda N gang! Ioniq5 N looks amazing, and have looking forward to the future of EVs with what Hyundai is setting out to do! Awesome to have these legends highlighting the N brand!
All of the Hyundai line looks like they have ds
Fellow Kona Njoyers 😂
Hyundai over the last 5 years has dropped bomb after bomb in the car industry, they have come from outta nowhere and just started making amazing cars
As someone who had a rinky dink 2008 Hyundai Accent throughout highschool and college, it warms my heart that Hyundai is becoming what Lexus was in the 90's. I can't wait to get into a new Hyundai again.
I'm mad about Teslas, i just love them, i would still rather have a Ioniq 5 N, it's truly a car that drives like you're playing a video game. The days of $60k Hyundai's are here, and they are worth every penny.
Im in love with EV’s after owning my model 3. Id like to own other EV’s when they figure out the charging ecosystem like Tesla
I love the direction they went with the sounds. If I'm driving an EV I want it to sound like a spaceship!
really cool to see that the N team is so passionate about the cars
I'm sure meeting Keiichi Tsuchiya like this was nuts, like being in some weird dream state. Absolute legend we all grew up watching any way we could. The cars are cool too haha
Ioniq 5 over a model y! Yea, I said it.
Fight me! 🤼🏽♂️
Ioniq 5 over anything Japanese. Yeah I said it.
I say over any tesla..
Model Y? Lol come on, easy decision (5N)
@@paulklp8262You’re crazy!
Stop being edgy!
Japanese cars were, are and will always be over anything Korean!
Hyundai making huge steps in motorsport, I like that.
How long are these cars going to last though
A small scratch on the battery cover plate voids battery warranty AND requires full battery replacement. This cost $60k usd, more than the cars original cost.
@@aok6113citation needed.
Also - it's exceedingly rare that you need battery warranty anyways. My estimation is, by the time you need it, there are lots of places where it can be fixed cheaper than an engine swap for a fossil car.

Crashing a prototype on a track like this would be the worst nightmare! The "Oh shit" brings back the memories of when you are a kid and did something wrong, knowing well that momma won't be impressed 😂
Signing the crash is so gangsta
I loved that one guy quoted Uncle Roger, "Emotional damage!"...
@@gregjohnson8190 just a heads up. "Emotional Damage" was started by another CZcamsr called Steven He.
Keiichi Tsuchiya 67 years old still ripping like he was 25!
For all the flak that korean cars get, really think Hyundai makes some of best looking EVs out there. When will the Vision 74 become reality? Also, the simulated sounds are so fun! Really gives off the sci fi vibes
N Vision 74 production confirmed

Agree with best looking imho. We don't have the Hyundai Ns, but the Ioniq 5 and 6 look so cool in person!

The sounds are funny but I would rather drive without any sound!
E-Cars technically don’t have sound, so why fake it…? 😅
I love my i20N. Hyundai australia is amazing and organises cruises, meet ups, track days etc. they stand behind their products and offer support. Unrivaled at the moment
I "forced" my parents to open me a mail account(mail, mail!letters and that stuff) so I can order on a english magazine Best Motoring and Video Option VHS tapes and dvd's later. And they not understand why I was so obsessed with japanese people that I cannot understand driving cars that doesn't exist in our Spain...I'm getting old!😂😂
Very much enjoyed this as a N owner of the Veloster N and I know Hyundai is doing things differently and I hope it makes EV driving as enjoyable as driving combustion vehicles. Good job and love your content 😊
Veloster n is my realistic dream car. 10/100k mi warranty that you can rip on the track + LSD + popcorn noises
@@Se0what best bang for your buck honestly, and better on a track the a Type R, Corolla GR, STI, Golf R etc too. I love my Velo N such a quirky car stock
Larry, you're definitely letting this guy of similar age and generation to yours, live vicariously through your videos. Growing up in the Gran Turismo age if you will, Best Motoring, Option, Hot Version, etc, etc, Keiichi Tsuchiya is like this mythical figure that I would put up there with like I would Michael Jordan as my sports idol if ever I were to see either in person, I would definitely have that pinch me I'm dreaming moment. So happy for you that you got to have this experience and share it with us, thank you.
Thanks Hyundai and thanks Larry. Excited to keep seeing this brand flourish.
Ok, the stereophonic motor sounds with backfiring coming from the rear channel is hokey but brilliant ! And the racetrack screens and lap timers, yes ! I see the cool/fun factor of these cars putting Tesla to shame. Go Hyundai !!!
I’d rather drive it without any sounds!
Fake sounds, no thanks! 🙂↔️
That IONIQ 5 N is awesome! I think thats going to be an icon.
Hyundai is bringing the juice to the market. Nobody else is doing it like they are. So exciting
Never knew that electric Hyundai can be fun... Times change...
The video game element to the sound and driving experience sold me! When you were flogging the 5N it sounded seriously fun and well suited. And hey, we all have a good tank slapper once in a while. 🤙🏼🏁
Man Hyundai has come along way since the humble Excel!
Larry Chen shredding it up on that track heck yea!
Hyundai fan here, on my second one, Kona ultimate, and what they are doing with the N brand is awesome! Really enjoyed this video, thanks for your great work!😊
Heres hoping to a reunion video with Larry, Keichi and Hyundai with the N74 in a few years.
i so saw this coming i had a feeling a couple years back when every brand was announcing EV's that based of the styling compared to others that a korean brand (namely hyundai or kia) would really dig their feet in and make cars that feel like cars that really speak to an audience and in 10-20 years will be looked at with the same love as the 90s jdm beasts
also love the sound of the evolution setting it feels like a smart idea to have adaptive sound profiles for driving because otherwise youre dealing with no noise and in some cases like with lucy block in the sierra echo they had to have an annoying siren which makes sense for safety but also does more to annoy a driver than assist them in driving the car
love the work would love an N spec hyundai cant wait to see more
I Love to see car makers are coming back to make sports cars for many more generations to enjoy with the latest technology combined
Hyundai seems to be getting EVs right, people want a soul, want the sound, the shifting, this is awesome
but give us physical buttons for fucks sake
The sounds are funny but I would rather drive without any sound!
E-Cars technically don’t have sound, so why fake it…? 😅
What an insightful video showcasing new Hyundai models, and to be able to do it with the legendary drift king!? Nani!? Awesome.
Thanks for the work you do. Salute for seeing and talking to an absolute legend in the sport! Man if we had a N dealership/ store I’ll be there every weekend! I can’t wait till they are delivered!
Larry you got a sub and a like from me. Thank you for sharing these moments!
My first Hyundai was an 90s Accent 1.3L with a pop out eletric radio Antenna lol , after owned 2x Coupes from late 90s and early 2000s, Celica GT front head lamps style.
I did enjoy them and couldn’t fault them.
I never forgot the moment that went to watch FF Tokyo Drift Movie in cinemas and there was a Quote from Han saying “ you think i would let you run around in a Hyundai ? “ lol
- Possibly this known Quote maybe was part of inspiration for the Brand to unlock these great achievements over the years 🤔
PS: i was driving a 2001 FWD Hyundai Coupe with a full Veilside Bodykit back then, blue neons etc.
The stares i got from VTEC owners with full stripped cars and no A/C were hilarious after the Movie while exiting the car park 😆😆.
Look at current Hyundai, whos laughing now ?? 😁
Very proud of the brand honestly.
I may switch from M to N soon 🧐🤙
So cool to see that you spent time with Mike. His channel is a hidden gem of CZcams. I drive an EV6 GT (lowered with forged wheels) and I’m calling weekly for IoniqNs to come off the trailer at my local dealer.
Larry you know your stuff, and now that I'm seeing you separately from the Hoonigan frat pack it looks like I've found a new youtube car channel to look forward to!
Love the more 'fantastical' sound options available in the 5 N. Instead of trying to mimic gas engines, I think it's way cooler to try and do something completely unique.
I have the Elantra N auto and love it. They do have a manual version, which I hear is great. For a daily it's a no-brainer. So much fun lol
Keiichi Tsuchiya looks like an Oompa Loompa standing there. Had no idea he was that tiny 😂
Those are really cool OEM wheels, different design that actually looks great
Working for Hyundai for 12 years I have so much respect for Hyundai and their plans
must have been such a cool day. thanks for the vid and thanks hyundai for building some fun cars and bringing people out!
Larry certainly had fun with the sound effects pop, boom, BANG‼️
22:08 - "Maybe too much fun...?!"😂no sweat Larry, as you know crashing is an integral part of the overall risk of Motorsports/Racing. if it's any consolation just remember your "baby wall tap" PALES IN COMPARISON to what was likely the only Ioniq 6N (RN22e) Prototype in existence, not making the turn, and then smashing full on through the bales at Goodwood.
Link to that vid lol
Larry, i love the aggressive driving style. 👌
Looks so much fun!!!
Good to see you and Mike having a chat , two car nuts living the dream
Seeing DK in the background chillin' and watching you interview Park Joonwoo is very surreal to me.
I never thought I'd ever see DK in a Hyundai... oh yeah, there was that one korean show he drove the Genesis and made the Olympic swimmer lose her marbles. That was hilarious.
Yeah, it’s weird seeing DK in a korean car. 😅
Long live Tsuchiya-San 🙇♂️. Thank you Larry Chen for reminding us Hyundai is advancing well ahead of everyone when it comes to EV 🙏
I went to the first ever D1 GrandPrix Drift competition at Irwindale speedway in California in 2003, as a press attendee. (perks of working for a big sports video game company at the time) It was one of the most incredible and memorable experiences I've had. Crouched behind a barrier in the centre of the track with cars ripping by literally feet away... Tsuchiya San was of course one of the judges. Katsuhiro Ueo won in his Hachi Roku (my favourite drift car at the time!) and it was an INCREDIBLE finale! Still have it all on digital tape. What an experience.
Larry losing control of the Ioniq 5 is such a flex to Hyundai. Larry can drive and drift! It has badass vibes if it's so rowdy that he loses it. I'm reminded of the original Viper (I know it's a stretch).
Wild! Thank you for this video ⚡️
Great video & great cars, thank you for this Video Larry 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Remember all the haters not even a couple years ago...Hyundai has come up this fast! Been loving my hyundai too much for it to be so hated lmao
Hyundai really stepped it up but they will always get flak generally speaking.
Hyundais will never have the same image as the Japanese cars!
Hyundai / Genesis brands Turing out to be a juggernaut in the automotive industry. Great job Hyundai motors!!! 👏🏼
What an opportunity! I really appreciate how professional you still are knowing how you’re screaming inside 😂
Awesome vid. Love my i30n Sedan. Was just at SMSP as well for N Festival.
This was pretty cool to watch. I really enjoy my Kona N, and for the price I don't think anything currently on the market can touch the N cars.
Same ! Kona is the sleeper of the bunch
The future of EV fun is in good hands with Hyundai.
Hyundai has come such a long way, they are making such epic cars. Who thought that Hyundai and Kia would become the kings of the scene, KDM has taken over JDM, and they now compete with the big European brands, offering awesome looking cars, great interior and orgasmic exhaust notes from factory.
Currently own an i30 Sedan N (Elantra N) and Sonata N Line, both such epic cars that absolutely eat the ground, I’m still shocked at how much they have achieved in such little time, already competing with cars in the $200,000 range and above with the Ioniq 5 N.
I was once a diehard Subaru lover, but they are a shell of what they use to be and Hyundai has won me over.
KDM taking over JDM are you joking? true they make better car now, but KDM is too young its not yet on par with JDM long history and achievements, not to mention they only have hyundai and kia like samsung monopoly
Lol stop it. You're reaching

@@dewaeryadi7776I agree!
@larrychen a few of us who just happen to put this on for background are impressed and in awe of you driving, drifting and crashing and having a great time
Thank you for the video and it’s so incredibly awesome they “Hyundai” wanted you to sign the part of the car that got hit 😂 dude keep going we love stuff like this
Looks solid. The $60k battery replacement on the standard ioniq 5 is very concerning though
When I was growing up in the 90s the name Hyundai got me turning my nose up, it was all about JDM, and over the years I grew up and owned several JDMs, but now how the tables have turned. I feel like I went too early being the proud owner of a Kia EV6 GT and should have waited for the 5N. But maybe our next ICE replacement for the MK2 Focus ST will be an i30N Fastback 😏
Hyundai are planning/working on ioniq 2, I bet N version of that will be of upmost interest.
Dude I went from a Focus ST to a EN. Honeslty, love the car, but I LOVED my lil focus man. Wait for the I30n Hatch to get to the states bro
Also coworker at another branch location has a EV6 GT and those things are nutty man. Nice car
Japanese cars were, are and will always be above Korean cars (Hyundai and Kia)!
The i30 N sedan is the Elantra N in the states and it's available with a 6 speed manual.
I'm sure you're aware people have their preferences. A hatchback and a sedan are two different things.
Amazing stuff .. i just want to say i love how this gentleman from another country speaks English so well and proper 👏.. thank you sir.... but here in my area long island ny..... they speaking Español like its the language of America ova here
Larry you are living the dream and staying humble. Big love mate.
Ha ha currently watching the JDM shed tour. Hope your well bro (you just liked my comment just now)
It is a true blessing that Hyundai/Kia are bringing fun to otherwise boring EV scene. I love it!
The employees are a reflection of the company. These people seem awesome, which makes the car awesome and makes Hyundai a great brand. The desing language is also perfect and so is the engineering, they don't gt enough credit for that.
Since the I30N was released you gotta love Hyundai and the N Performance division. They’re not afraid to take risks and push the envelope. Hats off on the ioniq5N what an effort.
Cool coverage Larry!
As a Korean, it's amazing to meet Hyundai Motor on Larry Channel
The Ioniq 5N is gorgeous and futuristic as it is enthusiastic, but to me the i30N Hatch and Fastback are beautifully designed cars as well as they are very simple-looking. It's a shame we don't get to see them in America.
As a car enthusiast, you just gotta love what Hyundai is got going on.
Thanks Larry.
I'm reading alot of love for Hyundai, now go out and buy an N model (i30/Elantra) to REALLY support them💡💡
The next EN should be getting the 2.5L Turbo, so supporting them NOW ensures this future upgrade👈
I’m my Kona N had AWD with the 2.5L for extra power, it would be one hell of a platform.
@@carloscervantes836 that would've been awesome, next EN will have ALL that🏁🏁
From Stella to Ioniq 5 N in 40 years.
Good job.
Being a diehard hatchback fan, I'm definitely getting the Ioniq 5 N when they come out! Been looking for a hatchback with AWD to replace my current Mk7 Golf R, but the only option is the Mk8 Golf R and GR Corolla in the US, this changes everything.
GR Corolla is a lot cooler!
Plus it’s Japanese!
The most important thing about Motorsports. Having fun with a car. Bang on.
Theres no legacy carmaker doing more for enthusiasts right now than Hyundai. They just decided.
Hands down the Kona N sold me and grabbed me. It's been a vehicle I wowed people with when I roll up with. Folks are truely blown away by the looks, cuz they recognize it's all the standard Konas but something in the lines of the front and rear bumper make them question why it's different... The that's my introduction to wow them, "I say let me take u for a ride n show u why this is different and hands down the best sports line that satistifies in simple ways without the price of BMW"..... God when I place the car on eco and they hear how quiet a few things people ask is
1. Why does it have paddle shifters?
2. Bro that screen is sick with the stats, no way? (and some variations of this)
3. Bro the seats are incredible, they hug U! ohhh u got heated seats! (variations of this)
4. How many horses? (I tellem 276 to 286 while the car is bone silent)
Now they are getting me driving like a normal person while on the way to a highway...then right before the highway I explain the build out story with the Ns, how the chassis and sus are reinforced, why U see them big brakes, an just explaining this is performance with a bang for ur buck... Then I tell em hold on, tell em I'm hitting this N button to change it to its max sport mode and that it's gonna be a stiff ride..... And it's a wrap I'm blasting around a jughandle entrance to the turnpike at the 65 - 75 miles an hour and their holding on for dear life, then take em on the turnpike down straights at 120+ to really show people what they have done when u buy an N vehicle.
What people need to realize is that this is just the beginning of performance EVs and EV technology in general. It's only going to get better from here.
I say the same thing about the Stark Varg dirt bike. People are blown away by it. It's not perfect, but again, it's just the beginning.
I appreciate what Hyundai is doing in the performance space. I pulled up next to an Elantra N recently and was a bit jealous that its exhaust sounded way more sporty than my G42 M240i. Hats off to Hyundai!
Those Hyundai sounds are too obnoxious and artificial, like most modern cars.
Thanks for the video Larry! This IONIQ 5 N just the vegan equivalent of good performance car. Like in a good way, like the first time you tried the Beyond Burger. Absolutely love the direction Hyundai is going! I'm more willing to accept this than BMW enhancing their engine sounds through speakers...
This car is like a vegan burger!
Tastes like an ICE car but isn’t one… 😂
Well, this here or BMW enhancing their sounds through speakers, is fake anyway!
Not a fan of both!
Hyundai has become one of my favorite car brands!
Man big ups for taking those shots with DK.
I have the Kona N, great little car with some surprising agility and cool features.
I30 n and n hatches look great 😎👍
Yeah man proud owner of a Kia Stinger love the car. Slapped a Jb4 secondary downpipes intakes I’m at 500 Hp. So really to I’m biased had a 2010 genesis coupe 3.8 and loved that 😂
If some one told me, that I will like (and want to own) a Hyundai 5+ years ago, I would tell that person to **** off. And today I own my second Hyundai (previously 2021 Tucson and now 2022 i30n fastback) and loving it.
It’s something we didn’t think we needed, until we lost it.
As a m3p owner for 5 years. This car is top of my list for when it’s time to get a new car. Unless Tesla can do an over the air update and give me car sounds. I don’t have paddle shifters but I would be happy with a simulated automatic at this point. Just give me something!!!
23:42 that Sonic boom sound was super cool! 💥
Major respect for Hyundai. This is amazing
