the spinning had me basically on the floor laughing, jesse please never change 😂 also sign me up for this summer camp asap
I have a video recorded to start a booktube channel because of you… so I hope to do some of your tags as well 😊
I am convinced that a haunted summer camp is the only real summer camp. Sign me up for the camp Happy Place experience 😂
Also, the Assassination Classroom cover as the flag was the perfect choice!!!
I think The Honeys by Ryan LaSala really gives off a spooky camp vibe plus the atmosphere is just sticky and sweaty. Screams summer. Honestly, such a good time, would recommend.
Jesse just terrorizing children 😂
I love My Hero Academia and that has a camp arc. As for novels, the Medoran Chronicles is my favourite book series and the second book called “Raelia” has a fun camping aspect.
Shadow Falls series is my all-time favorite book series ever. Which is a summer camp for supernatural teenagers. Not horror but is still amazing.
From Sizzlin' Summer Book Tag to this. Awesome! 🏕
Not camp but when you were talking about abandoned amusement parks I thought of The Getaway. It's a YA sci-fi dystopian set at like a Disney-esque theme park. Very interesting book. Amazing cover!
I love Eureka Springs! I have a friend that lives there, and I stayed at that hotel, It's so cool! I love spooky things, lol.
I’d have to say for your last question, I enjoyed the Shadow Falls Series by CC Hunter. I know it’s a teen fantasy series with romance and I read it as an adult. But they didn’t have books like this when I was a teen! I thought they were fun. Sometimes you gotta take a break from heavy dark and depressing. 😊
Camp-themed book rec: Camp Damascus!
Jesse, you might like the book Strange Gods by Alison Kimble, which has a summer camp and, well, strange gods and cool worldbuilding and I think a tasklist like that of Hercules the protagonist has to complete 😅 It's also a little sad because of the protagonist's familial relationships.
This is fun. I decided to pick the haunted island from Plain Bad Heroines as a setting so we are going for a haunted island featuring wasps and an abandoned boarding school nearby. Yes the teachers use the Orangerie for fresh fruit and vegetables. It is called Camp Yellow Jessamine and I chose Middlegame's cover as the flag. The cabin names...are not great. I got a bit stinted by the pages but they are Limitless Applause, Morning Storm, and Dance Dreams. My councillors fits the haunted vibe well I reckon, and they are Genya Safin, Karou and Darlington. Now I don't memorise book quotes so that was hard for me, so I kind of lowkey went for a quote on the back of a book, 'They are roaring in the forest further out and I must go see.' As for activities, I don't read books that has a lot of those so I decided to pull a barely an activity from The Darkest Part of the Forest which is having parties around a magical glass coffin with a fae inside . Also if you try to break the glass bad luck will follow.
I was very tempted to pull answers from Plain Bad Heroines for these questions. Like there would have to be a cabin called Yellowjacket, for example and that quote about how the place likes to play tricks but can also be a delight would have been perfect for the camp.
Ahhh Jessie I just finished the graphic novel of Hide! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it 📚
I haven't read it yet, but Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle is on my TBR! It's a horror book about teens at a gay conversion camp. So, appropriate to the theme of your video, appropriate for Pride, AND appropriate for your wish to read more horror this year!
Have you read Funny Story by Emily Henry yet? I feel like it would he another top book for you!
I am currently working at a summer camp! I love it 😊
I like this new barrage of back to back videos
Give me a sign by Anna Sortino takes place a camp for the deaf and blind. Was a 5 star read for me, Highly Recommend!
You’re Not Supposed to Die Tonight by Kalynn Bayron is a YA horror thriller that you should check out. Personally I really loved the summer camp vibes and the somewhat nostalgic slasher movie plot. It’s a fun read, so maybe if your library has it- give it a go.
Jesse, please make us a Summer Camp read-athon!
This was so much fun, Jesse! Nicely done.
Love this tag so much!! 🏕
I loved Bug Juice!
I love the camp you made! I love eerie abandoned/haunted places 🥰 i love that you're so sunshine but like spooky stuff.
It is really hard to think of answers for these! The only one I kind of have answers for is the counselors. Id pick Inej from Six of Crows, Jamie from Kaiju Preservation Society, and Bokuto from Haikyu!.
Loved this!!! ❤
😂😂😂😂😂loved this!!! I want to go to this camp!, sign me up
Jesseee this tag was so much fun!!!! As a diehard for PJO I love the camp vibes! I’m not sure about a camp setting recommendation but I just finished a really fun magic training school YA called Summoner: The Novice. Highly recommend! It felt like reading a video game 💙💙
That was exhilarating ❤
Omg stop, this is so fun 🥹🥹
I'm going to say Percy Jackson and the Olympians they are at Camp half blood
I went to Girl Scout Camp and also another summer camp. I very much enjoyed the other summer camp! We stayed in tree houses, swam in a tiny pond, and rode horses (until I had an allergic reaction then the fun was over hahaha) BUT this is such a fun tag! :D Here's a list of summer camp graphic novels that I thoroughly enjoy Long Distance by Whitney Gardner, Brain Camp by Susan Kim, Laurence Klavan, and Faith Erin Hicks, and lastly Be Prepared by Vera Brosgol!
Super cute! ❤
omg i remember bug juice!!
the last Rhee witch is a cozy middle grade that takes place at a haunted summer camp :)
That was fun! 😊
This was so fun 😂 why do I kinda wanna go? 😅😅😅
THIS is hilarious 😂😂😂
Camp book rec: To Night Owl From Dogfish by Holly Goldberg Sloan and Meg Wolitzer
I cant remember the exact book but some of the fear street books by R.L Stein have the best camp set ups and they get creepy!
Give me a Yee/ Give me a Haw!!
