Gotta say, after producing for nearly 6 years, this channel always seems to feel like most helpful and comprehensive tips and tricks channel. Doesn't dwell in a niche and takes time to explain everything very well. Keep it up, guys.
This channel has to be the most valuable thing on this website
Went from feeling overwhelmed with arranging drums to confident after 1 video. Crazy. You explained everything so well! I'm leaving this comment here as a reminder to purchase your course in the future.
I love that you show the process of experimenting with options. Knowing what options you have is such a great tool to use when you get stuck, or uninspired. It is like a painter knowing which colors they can paint with.
You always have me writing down amazing notes in my notebook with your videos 😍 I have a whole section dedicated to your videos so I can look back! Thank you SO much, Austin!
Super helpful. Makes such a great difference! You never fail to amaze me with these knowledge
Thanks for breaking down your process Austin! Simple yet worth its weight in gold!
I started adding background percussive loops like you demoed here after watching your videos for a while, and that alone added so much to my drum sounds. Started experimenting with pitched wood and tom hits to add some of that as well. Processed the metric shit out of them and used that as a sort of ambient, but still driving layer and I've been loving it.
I love Autin's energy and love for what he's doing! He also makes me want to master Cubase. Thanks for simplifying something we all noodle on!
Thank you so much!! Everytime you give the best tricks and tips ,share a lot of information and show us how to literally use it. Please keep it up 🙏
This guy is just God sent🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥🔥 just knows best tutorials to do🎶🎵🙌🏾
Approving this! Great drum programming will drastically impact the sound and feel of your song 🙌🏽
Woo gonna Be Fire MAN🔥🔥
Ur Videos Really helping a Lot🥰🥰
and your topics you do , are really needed
this is exactly the video i was hoping for! youre a legend man !
You're soo awesome! Thank you! This video made me less worried about programming drums. I'm definitely gonna buy your other products!
Always learn something new with every video. Great tip on the hi-hat soft velocities with 16th notes
Awesome tutorial, I used to feel stuck whenever I needed to make backing tracks with drums because I worked mostly with orchestral backing tracks. Thanks for pointing out where to get decent samples in the first place and for the freebies.
Hi Austin! I'm listening through your podcast and in the episode from about a month ago you asked people to let you know if we'd like to see you full workflow for creating drum samples. I'm just here to let you know that I would be extremely interested in seeing that :) Thank you!
Loves it!
Great video as usual, super informative :)
Great video as usual...thanx man!! 🙏
Great vid man. Would love a part 2 that helps match the drums to the groove of the vocal. Or how to hum melodic vocal ideas that are more percussive and fit the drum groove
Very helpful, thanks for sharing.
I learn a lot from your videos! Thank you for all of them🙏🏼😭😭😭
You're giving gems of the song writing game young sir. Bravo
Great video, there are so few good videos on modern drum programming on youtube. This is a great topic. Thanks!!! You can also for different styles, trap, hip-hop, indie pop, folk, it will be very relevant. I always watch your streams, THANK YOU!!!
Thanks a lot, Austin. Drums is cool :) :)
Thank you, Austin! Super helpful and right on time. Would you consider a follow up video on drum / fx transitions between song sections? I’m never quite sure what to do. Cheers! 😅
I love you man
I see. I'll put my snares on 3 next time. It got that "Longing for a wife that i'll never have" vibe😿 Good video as always, Austin!❤️👍
great video! buying the pop serum pack nowww
Thank you!!
Great video
New video!!!
Great video! Laying down the right drum patterns with the right samples is very important for the overall feel of a track. Thanks Austin!
Hi Austin! Love of your content! Great and very informative! You've helped me in so many ways and i appreciate you and all the work you put in your videos! I was wondering if it was possible to make a video on, How to make a song like: BTS? ,New album of Taylor swift ? Thanks so much again Austin.
You'll be excited for our videos coming in November!
❤️💥
Only problem that i see in programming midi is that u need to always focus on the velocity of the samples, great video :)
Definitely important if you’re using samples or a sampler where it can control velocity!
Hi, thanks for the great tutorial!!! I really like the keys sound at 1:50!!! I can see it's based on two instances of instruments you name Main Keys. Can you tell me which instruments you use to create this sound?
They’re in serum and they’re from our Poptopia pack! It’s just the presets Ballad Keys, and Stay Keys
@@MakePopMusic thanks a lot🙂
it`s cool and all, but everytime I invite a drummer To the studio, its always leveling up the production! :D
Oh definitely! But you won’t get the same sounds as you do when you program. Live tracked drums sound amazing when that’s what the song needs though!
@@MakePopMusic Yeah! you are totally right, it has to fit the production!
also I am a cubase user and with the hitpoints and sample replacement, the possibilities are ENDLESS! 🎼
love your content btw ❤️
all you need is the right drum for that reggaeton riddim and its a bad bunny song
Is cubase a lot better than studio one? I was about to buy cubase but was advised against it as apparently studio one is slightly better? Any advice?
I love everything about Cubase. S1 is cool, but Cubase has everything I could ever want in a DAW.
I don't know why I never noticed how much Alt+dragging you do until this video. 😅 Now... I don't use Cubase anymore, but try using Alt+Shift+drag to copy a MIDI region AND have it sync changes across all loops. Saves a ton of time when you're building out arrangements using 4 or 8 bar loops.
Sheesh
Why didn’t you just side chain compress the kick to the snare? Way cleaner than messing about with velocities
I feel like your tutorials are getting more and more beginner-friendly each time; /but this was tooo beginner for me, even though I had to fast forward this like in 30 secs I still love your content and teaching. I'll check back for more in-depth stuff.
We’ve been trying to have a balance! More in depth stuff coming soon!
@@MakePopMusic thank you MPM cause I really love your advance tricks.
