This was beautifully put together, well done. I would so love to just sit and chat with Omar. He’s had some really interesting experiences in his personal and professional life - many good, but also many not so good - and you can tell that they have shaped his world view into what it is today. I think he is a good soul and a resilient one too. His story reminds me to open my eyes more and to make more of an effort to reach out to those who might feel different for whatever reason. Respect for this guy.

He's such a kind hearted, lovely, smart and reflected guy ❤️ - and can be so proud of the life he lives now and that he left all those mean bullies behind!!
Singing seems so important to him, so he should get some advice/coaching to improve it. On everything else (dancing, acting, presentation, etc) he is already the best, in a class of his own. I want him to have a good education. He is so sweet and generous; he deserves every good thing life can offer.

Omar has had to weather being marginalized his whole life outside of his home country. I felt his trauma in this fantastic video. He is brave and resilient. Omar, you shine bright like a diamond. You’re also magnetic like an actual magnetic stone. All the good and bad in people will bombard you, being so drawn to your magnificence. Find ppl that will be guardians of your solitude. Stay away from emotional vampires they just want to feed off your brilliance. I am rooting for you all the way over here in Portland, Oregon, USA. Love, love, love. It’s the only revolution worth fighting for.

This was a really beautiful interview. I love how open Omar is to sharing the struggles t/o his life and the perseverance he has had is inspiring. I love the relationship shown with his Mom, and that she’s always put him as a priority. Such a great Mom! There’s a lot that reminds me of my own relationship with my son. The cruelty of kids saddens me, but Omar’s big heart is so clear that that brings tears to my eyes as well. So much love.

i know it's not relevant but in the interview in the kitchen, didn't he say that he met up with his biological father and went to his work? Like the dad wasn't present in his life but he "knew" him and doesn't feel anything toward him?

@@penboyasgod6103 Yes, I read the same (I do not speak Swedish) when I watched the cooking show interview with subtitles - and wondered wich one is true. Maybe both, with a few years in between. Kept thinking: Simon's dad in YR is not THAT bad. As I am old, I'd really love to get the prequel of Simon's and Sara's parents' story (yes, yes I am aware it's all fictional) and would love an redemption arc for Simon's dad. Drugs destroy people - but it seems he's seriously trying. That Brooklyn Bridge poster in his apartment - he sure had big dreams once. If Sara can forgive August and he gets an redemption arc, so should their dad.
