Honestly, I kind of understand why people weren't sold on this, and it was the intro of the song. But I think this, in my opinion, is the best theme, if not better than the original V1.
The original wasn't bad, but it just felt like it was essentially the same song as the OG with minor melody changes that added next to no creativity.
This theme, however, does something new, still keeping it akin to LB, but also demonstrates a new level of creativity with the instrumentation.
